    Evening all.

Big hugs to those who are feeling blue for whatever reason.

1 - Slept like a baby last night. Probably out of sheer exhaustion but it was bliss!

2 - My lovely friend bought me lunch as a thank you for getting her discount on some expensive baby stuff.

3 - Lovely sunny day and got to wear a pretty little summer dress.

4 - Went shopping and was very restrained. Bought 2 shirt tops in Primark which were reduced.. Thought they were going to be £8 for both, rang through the til at £3 for both!!!

5 - Spent a few hours curled up on the sofa with a friend.

Big hugs CCP, hope the gloom disintegrates overnight and that your hospital treatment goes well, will keep my fingers crossed for a gorgeous nurse/doctor for you ;):)

    1. Goodbye hugs with DD before she went off with my parents

    2. My parents left me with goodies - a bottle of wine, a punnet of strawberries, and an empty house.....missing DD like mad already.

    3. Got the bargain of the century, signed up to the BnQ membership thingy and bought 2 pots of paint to make my bedroom beautiful (eventually) - for £16!

    4. Just realised we didn't drink all the wine last night so there's a glass beside me now :)

    5. Went to fab church group this evening, first time I've been

    6. RTC scones for dinner, nomnomnom....

    7. Have listed some CDs on Amaz*n, hope they'll sell....

Thank you for all the kind words. Feeling pretty good now, there is no rhyme nor reason to it.

Here are my 5 or more for today.

    1) Waking up with OH. :-)

    2) Went to local car racing with sons and my brother.

    3) Visited mum and saw the gory plaster cast! She'll have to have a fresh one, there has been some "leaking".

    4) Found a packet of croutons in the cupboard. Sons adore them so had them with some tomato soup for lunch.

    5) Cleaned the porch out (dumping ground for everything) and swept it out with some Flash and boiling water.

    6) Sons happy today.

    7) Made a roast dinner - chicken, roast pots, carrots, cauliflower, brocolli and cheese sauce. Just strawberries and yogurt for pudding.

    8) Texts from OH who had to work a Sunday, v busy at the moment.

    9) Lovely weather as the day went on.

    10) Watched Raiders of the Lost Ark.

    11) My school friend came round for tea and has not long gone home.

    12) Smaller son won a bottle of mulled wine on the tombola yesterday then opened it to smell it. So school friend and I had to have a mug of mulled wine tonight. :-D

    13) Made some French bread. Not tried it before but it worked so well that we have eaten an entire small loaf between us.

    14) Going to bed in a minute and will listen to the Now Show on iplayer.

Busy day tomorrow. Got the psych nurse coming to see smaller son then in the evening we are doing a survival course run by the district council. We really enjoyed it last year so hope the weather will be good again.

    Evening all :)

Caterina pleased you're feeling better :)
PK well done you for remembering the vouchers, I empty my purse periodically and find all mine are out of dat1. Must find a way of remembering to use them
(((CCP))) everything x'd for you that the hosp appt isn't as bad as you're projecting. Re hg veggies, mine are just a flop. The tomatoes are there but very green, the runners are not much bigger than dress-making pins, the raspberries and loganberries fruited then rotted in all the rain...I think most people are having a difficult year. It can only get better :D
Chicken I thought I was doing well getting my first ink when I was 58, but big congrats to your DM for getting hers at 72 :T
nici wow, well done on getting the tops for £3! Must be the bargain of the week so far - even if it is only Sunday ;)
Frith, it's okay to feel down from time to time, and good you have a strong family support network around you to help you through those times :)
DD re UKBA - I agree :o. The ink will be beautiful :)

    1. Awake by 5.30am, poor dog was panting like crazy so took him downstairs where it was cooler. He had a good drink and looked up at me and smiled! Tonight I'm taking a bowl of water up for him, strictly only for while it's so hot at night.

    2. Neighbour was recently bought a set of nail foils for her birthday, which I admired yesterday. She came to my door this morning to see if I'd like her to do mine. How kind, yes please! I now have black background with a gold and red chintzy pattern on my nails which, unlike the awful false ones that wrecked my nails for a year, will just come off with ordinary remover :)

    3. Other side neighbour saw a big 8-legged thing on my washing on the line, just about to go inside a pillowcase :eek:, her DD climbed over the fence and got rid of it. I absolutely would never have used that pillowcase again if I hadn't seen her get rid of the 'thing'!

    4. Made a yummy herb dressing to go with my tomato salad, 3 parts organic olive oil (rtc 1 litre for £2.50p), 1 part white vinegar (5 litres for £2 in farm shop), a couple of lightly crushed garlic cloves, a good twist of black pepper and some chopped basil, rosemary and tarragon from the garden. Made enough to half fill the dressing bottle so plenty for the rest of the week. Why pay £1 or more for a little bottle just because it has a label on? ;)

    5. Spilt coffee on an embroidered orange linen bag I bought in India, was really disappointed as it's become one of my favourites. Sponging, baby wipes etc didn't work so I took the plunge and soaked it in warm water and hand wash, rinsed, pulled it back into shape and hung it on the line (no crawlies in sight this time) and it's worked beautifully :D

Sweet dreams, no nightmares and hope you stay cool :)

CCP (((HUGS))) for today's hospital appointment. Veg are disappointing everywhere this year and just as well you did away with tomato plants as the blight is doing the rounds.

Sparrer thank you! I mean to congratulate you on your weight loss, you are nearly at target! Well done!

    Frith glad you feel better.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Do I see a no need for ugggs this moprn, or is everyone feeling good for sum raison. Just sour grapes!

    Five from the weekend

5 Bitt toooo humid for Sonny yesterday so took it easy watching film, then watched Timewatch. Bit disappointed again with it revisionist ending though, typical of things these days. Still, I may slip down to a BBC channel again sometime later in the year.

4 Nothing can kiill a gadget than a quick dunk in the water, thank goodness I played in the slips years ago and causght my phone as it headed forward to the bowl of swirl.

3 Please, I have heard no news on the public rotten tomato championships in Riby Square. Just hope the right thing is done in the near future. Note to readers, TILAMS does not condone the wasting of food in this manner, but somethings have to be done. Just hope the Gemini twins get it sored.

2 Ms Sonny is off setting uop an exhibion. Could be ineresting for her.

1 As the tide ebbs, the coast gives up another piece of land, crumbled away. The tide returns, washing it away like the rest. That pebble that was skimmed from the shore did seven bounces. For that bouncing moment moment, it was alone. Then suddenly it sank into the others, rested
