Good morning all !
PK - tell your guest to mind her beeswax ! But I am so nosey I love looking at other peoples till receipts .I am amazed at your bargains tbh . I did laugh at your "posset" the other night , painkillers cocoa, E.P O vitamins etc . I hope it had the desired effect ? Are you off in the Caravan of Love soon?
OT - are you moving out of the French Grey house?
5 for yesterday
1. Lovely weather
2. Relaxing day reading and "plotting" having time off gives me the opportunity to look at the "bigger picture" . There is a cafe near me that I might make an offer on . Just toying with the idea at the moment ..
3. My colleague at work has been offered a new job, I am glad as I encouraged her to go for it . I will miss her but she is wasted in my team . Another person left yesterday and another is on Mat. Leave in 4 weeks - we are a small team but this will really change the dynamics - hence the above idea of doing a bunk for my own sanity ..I owe them no loyalty .
4. Marrow curry for tea - just tweaked a Dahl recipe , it was lovely but a bit too hot for a hot day really- the hens had the leftovers.
5 I am a great aunt for the third time , another blonde blue eyed boy. Even my great nephew, who is mixed race is ....you guessed it blonde and blue eyed..:rotfl:
6.Finished 50 shades .. what a fuss about nothing! The only part that got me thinking was could I drive my Ostentatious German Vehicle in stilettos ?? I don't own a pair so its unlikely.:D Sonny -the recycled cardboard packaging would state "this way up" and probably not "handle with care " :rotfl:
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Hi Chicken no were not moving. Just pretending we are ; getting very tidy. DH even had his haircut today!
1. DH mowing the lawn [ did I say lawn???? he-hee rather the patch of weedy grass by the house] I mowed his hair earlier.
2. SUNSHINE AND BLUE SKIES
3. green wheelie bin emptied yesterday already full with lawclippings and overgron hacked-back garden plants.
4. diet going well. Was 11 st now 9st12b
5. oh what to say? everythings just lovely and we are off the the cinema tonight in the village hall.0 -
Evening all.
My apologies for the lack of posts over the past few days - my real social life is getting in the way of my virtual one. On Thursday I went to the pub quiz - which we won :j - and last night I was at a comedy club, probably the best part of which was me and my friends setting a trend by walking out on the last act, a deeply unpleasant man who'd obviously become a stand-up comedian as no-one would listen to his nasty, bigoted opinions at any other time.
Anyway, today's pleasures:
1) Painkillers.I really shouldn't have had that final drink last night, but we all felt the need for something to wash away the memory of the vile rant we'd just had to listen to.
2) Not at all OS, but I treated myself to a pub lunch: a sausage sarnie and a glass of wobbleade, eaten while watching the world go by in the sunshine, which did wonders to clear the last of my hangover.
3) Picked up my L%kel%nd order, which was made up almost entirely of items which had been heavily reduced in the sale. :money:
4) Enjoying being able to get to my outside tap - which is in an alleyway beside the building - without having to climb over piles of other people's rubbish, as my landlord finally seems to have realised that the mess puts off prospective tenants for the other flats.
5) I've got a yummy RM pizza - from the supermarket deli counter - for dinner, and I'm counting it as free as I paid for it with a money-back voucher. :money:
Have a lovely evening, all - I'm going pizza-wards.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening
A mixed bag of a day today, not been feeling 100%, I might have got mild sunstroke this morning going around in the hot sunshine, or am particularly hormonal, don't know, but am not feeling on top of the world. However, here are some pleasures:
1. Lovely spinach omelette for breakfast
2. Got a couple of small gifts for a friend's son, it is his birthday in a few days.
3. DH, DS and DD. I just can't stop feeling so privileged to be surrounded by such a lovely family (warts an' all)!
4. Feeling unwell (not the pleasure) meant I left the allotment party early and had a restful afternoon lying on top of my bed, resting and sipping water (the pleasure).
5. DH and DD cooked a nice dinner, which we ate sitting in the garden.
Hope tomorrow is still lovely but a bit less hot! Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
A bit earlier this evening as I plan to get an early night...what is Ladyhawks sig? 'Man plans and God laughs...'
So sad to hear that Winnie Johnson has passed away not knowing where her son Keith is buried. God willing, they're together now.
chicken/PK I'm fascinated by people's shopping on the conveyor. Lots of good, healthy fruit and veg, then bags of crisps, cream cakes, and boxes of ready meals. I sometimes think peeps have more money than sense when I don't see a single ys or 241 item coming out of their trolley
OT congratulations on your loss! That's amazing :T
Re the zip-wire comments - DS has just confirmed that Wednesday is the day we go to Wembley. No butterflies in my stomach, just a herd of heffalumps stampeding _pale_
1. Early start, at the gym for 8am. Don't know where all the lazy lie-a-beds were but I had it, and the two pt's, all to myself for the first half hour
2. Picked up DGD2 and her friend, they painted the new fence panels pale blue and gave the darker blue bits of the shed/beach hut another coat.
3. Ran out of pale blue, need get some more tomorrow to do the shed walls so will use nectar points as I have about £125 worth now
4. DGD's friend loved the vegetarian lunch, I make myself one two or three times a week but feels good to have a 'proper' veggie say it was nice, and come back for seconds. And it's much cheaper than meat meals
5. The weather, of course, and am very grateful for my Summer-cool house so I can come in and have a reprieve now and then. (It's also Winter warm so I benefit through all seasons)
Sweet dreams0 -

Evening everyone!
Had a couple of bad nights sleep which have resulted in long days and a bit of a struggle. There have been a few pleasures along the way though.
1 - A very productive day at work yesterday which means we are ahead of schedule for the upcoming week.
2 - A family that I love to pieces came into work yesterday and I spent ages catching up with them.
3 - Then today my friend and her husband came in to visit me.
4 - Tonight I change the buttons on my shirt I bought in the CS the other day. 1 was missing so I snipped the others off and put them in my button box and added others.
5 - Now in my pjs curled up and watching Harry Potter.
Hugs to all!0 -
Get well soon Caterina x
1. NSD
2. Parents came down to stay
3. DD has become my dad's little shadow
4. Daddikins worked very hard in the garden, cutting hedges and lawn bits
5. Mummikins, DD and I made lists, lots of 'em
6. They took us out for scurmptious dinner at a local pub that now has amazing food
7. Pub gave us a bogof voucher which expires just before DD returns from her stay with parents, so I hope to go out with a chum (not OH as he's boring, has been there before and only eats steak and chips and then says its okay.....I want someone enthusiastic as I really loved our food!)
8. Sunshine........a mixed pleasure, lovely to see it but too flipping hot and humid for comfort, but will miss it when its gone...0 -
Hello, early Sunday evening here, need to think about making some dinner but will procrastinate some more on here!
I often think people must look at my trolley and wonder! We shop in Aldi first and buy most of fruit & veg there, milk & yoghurts, basics etc then we go to Woolworths and get the other things! So usually no fresh veg here...unless RTC , there are more 'treat' type foods but only if they're on offer! I buy juice & drinks here and often think it looks an unhealthy hoard! However, I know my veggies are already in the car!
So a few weekend pleasures:
Dry today but absolutely lashed with rain all day yesterday. We have already had 20% more rain this winter than normal and still a bit of winter to go.
Went for lunch with OH (who can't eat) and girls....who can !
Got 2 pineapples for 60c each.....usually about $4.50 so a baragin. I love fresh pineapple!
Bought my beautiful great niece some clothes for her birthday....all RTC!
DD2 and I went back to charity shop that had 50% of all clothes, got another 2 pairs of jeans (perfect length for my wee legs!) & a top for DD2, (we also donated some clothes and books) then we walked up to library for books and DVDs. Have read 1 book already.
We just missed out on a lovely chest of drawers and bookcase. This woman said she had bought it.....and then ran to pay for it! Grrrr! However she was a bit scary looking so wasn't going to argue!
Lovely chats on phone with mum, sister and friends. Nice to catch up.
Made very yummy bannofi tarts last night....the cheats way! Bought pastry tarts (but got DD1's staff discount!) had a tin of caramel in cupboard and then chopped a banana and topped with cream......'too easy' as they say over here!
Hope poorly people feel better soon and please remember when I am moaning about the heat come Dec/Jan it aint all it's cracked up to be
Have a lovely day0 -
Chicks surely it would say fragile.
5 Blessed tiger, why are they sooooooooooo daft. Things has bowl for his food, but no, it has to be taken out, and pawed, padded and eaten on the floor. The a quick paw down. Finished. Ms Sonny gets up, chelps and does he know meow. Another juicy helping is on hand. Suckered agains. Now that will be the tiger sorted on the shelf for a snooze then
4 Brillso film last nite snoggledd ups to Ms Sonny, and blessed tiger, Puss in Boots. Ms Sonny was giggly all nite after that.
3 Oh dear, Arsenal, Grimsby. I fear for .... Look, matey, is I were is in the bored room at the Theatre of Fish, the Gemini twins would be like the rest of the team, taken to Riby Square, put in stocks and pelted with dabbers.
2 No Spend day, cannot agree that the emporiums have to open this long today. The sports day is over. I feel for the people who work there that have to do so, instead of being with their loved ones.
1 Put your slippers on, and curlers, and pull up the chest. Now put your feet on it.
That's it, relax, it is Sunday service.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!
