Off to OH's in a minute so here are my pleasures for today so far:

    1) Lie in!

    2) Did smaller son's birthday thank you cards. I just do them on the laptop and include a photo of him on the day, print them off, then he signs them.

    3) Parent Partnership helpful with smaller son's statement again so have finished it!

    4) Phoned the Exclusions Officer and said it would be easier for smaller son if he didn't have to attend a reintegration meeting before going back to school. I would rather he stood on the playground with his class and went in with everyone else. The guidelines are changing in September and the reintegration meetings are no longer compulsory. :T So she is going to email the head today and requests smaller son just walks in. :D

    5) Just waiting for cake to finish baking so I can take it to OH's.
  • Uuuuh Frith, Let me in, I has the ... loaded. Let me at 'em

No, TILAMS, thinks of yer ...

Just love the word, boooooooooooming Exclusion Officer. Sums it up sometimes! Why cannot these (Apols to DD likes amongts us again) Educationalist make misery out of people! If there is money and targets to reach, it is wonderful. Just like some bits of paper for those incompetent to do a job at 16 this morning. What about those who education is a bloody farce, do they help them, no, they will them off the register.

Bring back the cap, in hem days they were still int the class, now they are swept under the carpet.

    Calm, wobbleades required.

    1. Great chat with my boss, sorted out a few queries that had come up in my mind...

    2. Told a former colleague at work about me leaving soon and she burst into tears! Not a pleasure as such, but I was touched that my help obviously made a good impression on her. Shame she's not in a position to help me get a job......

    3. OH is here :)

    4. exOH has FINALLY paid this month's pittance maintenance for his daughter.....I was getting worried!

    5. Just saw that the Wallace & Gromit prom is going to be on TV soon, yay :)

    6. Managed to get one load of washing dried, despite a short rain shower earlier, as I've not been ar*ed to do any all week, its piling up

    7. Took a load of rubbish to the tip, glad to get it out of the house at last.

    8. Printed out a load of useful info for the hopeful career change plans.......just got to read and inwardly digest it now!

    9. Made an appointment for a haircut using a voucher already paid for, roll on a new look!

    10. OH has brought wine, slurp :)

Sparrer:- Re your DD foot problems, I had a serious accident a few years back and have just found with a lot of research the best pair of err I don’t know what to call them they are orthopaedic shoes but don’t look bad thankfully, they just look like Black smart trainers, well you know what I mean:rotfl: I have never walked so well, they are from Brooks, and every day I wear them I love them a bit more for letting me be a better walker. I really do recommend them.

I'm in a bit of a bad mood, I feel like I am being taken the mickey out off, for trying to be nice and I am about ready to say !!!! off, it doesn’t help I couldn’t sleep last night and I make a I am not putting up with anything type person when I am tired.
    1. I didn’t have an appetite so I gave my pasta to a homeless chap who is always there, and he was a lovely well spoken chap!
    2. A load of washing done
    3. Another load hung out – hoping it will be warm tomorrow.
    4. Had a call about a job that sounds good.
    5. A big cup of hot tea.

    4 - Visiting my gran.

5 - Gave 5 bags of stuff to the charity shop and met a wee old lady that knew me from the town I grew up in 20 miles away.

Aww, sorry we missed you TILAMS, if you're this way again do let us know and we can have a cuppa in Bedford. Of course Ms Sonny must come too :D, and you can bring your sandwiches but only if they're Vegemite, not that hate-it stuff _pale_
mhags congrats on getting a tenant :T, sensible of you to go through a letting agent which could save you a lot of money in the long run
PK thank you :), I'll tell DD about the shoes. Anything that eases stress and pressure can only be a good thing

    1. Sadly one of my friends passed away last night from this illness. I'm eternally grateful for the support from my fellowship and its founders, without it I'd have gone the same way a long time ago.

    2. Got my refund from the utility company with no problem :D

    3. Found the lightshade for the sitting room. In Moroccan style, it's very unusual and very beautiful, and was reduced from £65 to £30. I know I said I'm feeling the pinch this month but wasn't expecting the utility refund and am still £60 in credit. That's my story and I'm sticking to it :p

    4. The hedgehogs were in the garden this morning feasting on my windfall plums. It's all very well getting new neighbours but a bit of a cheek when they pinch your food :D

    5. Cleaned the car mats with the steam cleaner, never thought of using it before and they've come up beautifully. Will try it on the seats next

    6. Watching the BBC 999 Awards, how very, very fortunate we are to have such amazing, selfless people who care about complete strangers.

    7. Thinking of the female politician who said her family would be better off abroad, I'd like to know where she thinks she can do better. Just feeling a lot of gratitude for all I have today, thanks to living in a safe place with a free health service, a mild climate, freedom of speech etc etc.....England's green and pleasant land sums it up beautifully.

    Night night, sweet dreams :)

    Good evening all !

I will try again as ...windows shut down right in the middle of my last post

PK- I hope that you can get some rest tonight !

    Sparrer - Smiler:D

    5 for today

    1. MRI scan date arrived for 8 days time at my local hospital rather than the next county where I have to go for check ups from the neck up. Boy that was quick . :D

2.Made some buns for my Aunt who came over to see my Mum. My hens eggs are so yellow that the cakes looked luminous.I tried to ice them but it wasn't pretty ..

3.Three lots of washing dried on line.Although I did have to shout at a neighbour who had a stinky bonfire at 1pm when all of my neighbours also had washing out - something along the lines of "Well thank you very much" and I think "selfish and ignorant" and "do you think I want to go to work smelling like Stig of the Dump ?"might have cropped up too..My Mums window cleaner found the whole thing highly entertaining.

4.Pizza for tea .quick and easy.

5.Half way through 50 Shades of Grey and unless the remaining half suddenly hots up I am not sure what all the fuss is about ? Dundee - was this on your reading list ???

    Night night all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Just watching the biopic (biodrama?) on Dr Ludwig Guttman, 'Poppa', founder of the Paralympic Movement. Cracking. And it's got the wonderful Rob Brydon in it, though I wish they had cast disabled actors in every role demanding it, mixed feelings there.

Cooker guy here 8.45 to fix cooker, all paid for on insurance. Bit disconcerting that it was just a water spillage that caused it but apparently if you are unlucky, it can happen.

Caught person on the phone that I have been trying to speak to for a few weeks.

Son's lovely new GF sent me such a sweet message on FB.

Reading all the buzz about the Paralympics. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this had long-lasting benefits in the way that the public at large view disability? There is a school of thought amongst disabled people that is anti-Paralympics, in that it places unreal pressure on those of us who cannot be Paralympians, and actively promotes a 'look at that brave disabled person' worldview. I don't subscribe to that view, I welcome the opportunity that the Paralympics gives to some to be the best that they can be.

Cooking tea with hob restored to health!

The contracts for my main job are now up for renewal, the other contract which I secured the other week hasn't started yet.
If the main contract isn't renewed things will be very shaky. They have been worse though and I'm still standing.
It's not just my individual contract being renewed but the company as a whole, it's a bit like being interviewed for your own job but on a massive scale. Nothing is ever certain. I'm crossing fingers like fury.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
