    1. Had a fabulous haircut, with DD helping the hairdresser - she was even allowed to snip one section!

    2. We got the train down to Brighton, so molto cheapo compared to driving and paying a fortune for parking, even managed to find an on-street parking spot vaguely near our station (well, I can do with using up the calories, lol).

    3. Lunched at M&$ cafe, very nice and not too pricy thank goodness!

    4. Feel very happy that my preferred uni for my possible life change idea have come back to me and confirmed that my qualifications are okay. Yay! One tiny step closer.....

    5. Just watching Mama Mia for the billionth time with DD, love Abba :)

Ooooh TLAMS, you are a naughty boy. I'd spank you...........but I'm a good girl these days, ha ha ha!

A few pleasures for the last couple of days:

    Good crop at the allotment

We received a gift of a large bag of organic fruit and veg

The weather is improving and the weekend is going to be warm and sunny

Managed to iron all of DH shirts this afternoon

    Phone call from my mum.

    Good night x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Sonny - are you still in one piece?:D

    Quiet here tonight.

Off on another holiday tomorrow. THo not so much of one for me - more being with the kids who volunteer on a preserved railway. I am hoping my time will be spent drinking coffee and chatting with other mums of volunteers. DS and favourite niece going. DD has elected not to.

    1. coffee and catch up with friend. She had a lovely holiday in France so I'm pleased for her as they've only just started venturing abroad with their caravan
    2. FN (as in Favourite niece) has arrived and is as dippy and as lovely as ever
    3. think I am off the hook with regards to a bit of a !!!! up at work caused by my tonsilitis followed by me being away so long.
    4. yummy YS roast lamb for tea - the first proper decently cooked meal i've had since I got back from the US. That's because I cooked it and I didn't the others.
    5. Followed by Apple and pear crumble to use up some wrinkling fruit. Served with YS fresh custard - yum

S'laters. Have a good weekend all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Thank you for your kind words re my friend. There is a better way out, the fortunate ones are able to take it, sadly others can't.

    1. Woke at 6am, too hot to stay in bed so had a tepid shower, cold breakfast and went to the air conditioned gym. Had a look at my history, seems I've lifted walked just over half a marathon...in the almost 3 months I've been going :D

    2. Called into the DIY shop, got fence paint for tomorrow's painting party. Also went to @ldi for ice cream, chocolate bars, fizzy etc for the workers who are my DGD2, her friend and my lovely neighbour's DD. They're painting the new fence forget-me-not blue to match the beach hut :D

    3. Frontline arrived so I now have a good supply for the mogs and dog. Wonder if I should do the hodgehegs as well!

    4. Had an early lunch and a good 2 1/2 hour siesta. Then woke up and made a vegetarian lasagne for the girls lunch tomorrow. Have to have my siesta but then I'm bouncing til about midnight or later.

    5. The blackberries are going crazy! Picked a whole cereal bowlful this evening and masses more to come

    Night night, sleep tight :)

    50 Shaves of CHAV?

'She was a thing of beauty in her plastic Paul's boutique top as she filled her trolley in the ready meal aisle. I downed the last gulps from my can of strongbow, before I grabbed her. She came willing and on the torn cardboard of the recycling area, I did what I had too.'

Girls, please, there is a cue!

5 Cat is now fully fit, and is munching away like a good one. Just the Bill now. Bless him.

4 T'was funny last nite playing the telly with Ms Sonny. She was all; a giggle when I did it on the sofa, 'There it goes again' She was nearly ready to take batteries out of the thing when she, Oooooooooooooooooooooooooouch!

3 Football back, but I fear that after the poor start by Grimsby, maybe last week at Wembley was the peak of my season.

2 Feeling a dump run on next week, cupboards have been cleaned.

1 What do you keep in your chest. Old Photo's, treeasured memories, momentos. I even had Doggy Oi Oi. Bit ragged now, but he sleeps well. They keep us happy.

What other things are kept in the chests?

That minute of madness, we keep it in the corked bottle? On pop and fizz it goes all over? Why did we cork it? Forget these corking moments, you will only ever bring them up, like dead wood from the lopped tree? Best we forget and go to the happy chest instead.

Right, I am now going to listen to Grimsby's Match. Could be a very looooooooooooong season (Oh, and foir the orange amongst us DD one word, Lucky!!!)

  • Whooo hooo it's still the weekend:j
We had people come over last night, I don’t know how to phrase this we have friends who, take us as they find us and we are totally comfortable whatever, but these people are it feels more judgemental and very very money orientated. Last night as I was cooking she was looking around the kitchen and spotted my 10p bread rolls for breakfasts over the weekend and we got talking I basically explained that due to various finds I can sometimes if we have been lucky do brekkie for 2p each, lunch is normally a defrosted RTC sandwich for about 20p, but still feels like a bought lunch as it’s a pre made sandwich. And dinner is very variable. She then said how we are in a better position why do we still bother saving. It’s like there was no getting through really. There wasn’t much point in reiterating that my work will finish at the end of September so we are squirreling away to be able to survive a little while looking for another job without being as barrasic as we were before fingers crossed. And we have been able to save enough to really enjoy a camping week we have booked away. So I just smiled and was grateful when DH came through changing the subject, but they kept coming back to it, why are some people so interested in other peoples finances, I just don’t get it.

    1. We had one of those laughable mornings as both DH and were getting dressed, he found 2 pairs of trousers now beyond repair, and as I turned to look putting on my long gypsy skirt,, my foot went through the hem and ripped the material across. We have now reached the point where we really do need some new clothes.:rotfl:
    2. RTC bacon rolls for lunch bush sshhhh don’t tell anyone.:p
    3. Loving and not liking the hot weather at the same time.
    4. Writing the pleasures early today as we will be very late back after dropping cats off and having a lovely time with the inlaws.:)
