Hello All,
Big hugs to anyone who needs or wants them.
Mine for today:
1 - Have ate lots today!! Not quite as straight forward a pleasure as it seems. Have had a nasty stomach infection which made me sick and lost appetite. Still get some pain but for the first time in ages I was hungry, actually starving all day!
2 - Being very focused on my own needs.
3 - Got 2 pretty floral tops for £3.34 in a CS.
4 - Knowing it's only a day until I see my mam.
5 - Getting lots done around the house. It's all clean and I'm slowly clearing out.0 -
OldTractor - more of an Olive Branch lady myself, haven't been in de Grey's for years! Did look in at the cakes as I went to the bank today, though.
Chicken - brother is available!0 -
1. Cut all the excess greenery off the tomato plants to give the tomatoes a chance to see the sun and hopefully ripen.
2. I have runner beans! They're the size of dressmakers pins but they're definitely beans. By this time next year they might be 6 inches long :rotfl:
3. The blackberries are starting to ripen, had one this afternoon, it was plump and sweet, delicious. There are lots to come and the apple tree is heaving with fruit so I'm looking forward to some crumbles this Autumn
4. Thanks to the Freebie(No Spend) forum I've been able to order some photo postcards of family which I'll frame to join the gallery on the sitting room wall
5. The hedgehog family was causing much laughter this evening, neighbour's DD put out two little dishes of cat food and they were swapping from one to the other after every other mouthful. Looked like they were doing a dance
Early start tomorrow (today) going shopping with DD who needs to buy a pair of special trainers, so DGD2 and her friend are coming with us to have a browse round the shops. Then lunch in a very inexpensive carvery at which I will not have their giant Yorkies or roast tatties.....maybe
Sweet dreams0 -
Just off the treaders and getting ready to go to the specialist. Had to switch off Radio Humberside because it was going into overdrive about some profanity induced football team last night. I do not want to know about rusty ironworks. S!!!!horpe, aye there you go, cannot put it on the boreds, cus it has a .... Word in it. The we get the presenter ranting on about the only silly serious glorious moment in pu55y talk, some Dean Windass toe poke. Thank goodness for Classic fm.
I fear that Grimsby Town's premier league days are over and north bound we are.
Rite, rant over. Does me Jenny :heartpuls no good.
5 Not buzzing, for some reason.
4 Bin on treader, nearly had crash at end, good job for fence.
3 Guess what, cheese, onion and marmite sarnies bagged and flask of tea for journey readied. Should I get some unbearables and squirm from shop?
2 Apols if I ain't thankeds yos this morn, on the oi pod. So thanks anyway.
1 You curse when you see them, scowl and hiss. Just like an alley cat guards his bin. Why? These words eat their way into you, and others remember long after you has forgets them.
Not better than to keep this bitterness where it belongs, under YOUR LIP. Then keep the sweetest smiles and best manners for all, not just for others like you do, but for those special as well.
Say hello to the person on the street, and pass on the smile as well.
Rite enuffs for how's, off to get Jenny checked. :heartpulsI hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!
Cheers! :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:0 -
Sure they'll give you and Jenny a clean bill of health TLAMS, hope for the doctor's sake, he sees you before lunchtime though....0

kittikins : whit's fur ye will no go by ye! A good Scottish saying if it's meant to be....OH was made redundant 15 years ago, we had 2 tiny children had just moved house 3 weeks before & all looked rather grim, however, he was then employed by the company he is with now & hasn't looked back. So ,maybe it is YOUR time to do what you want to do.....take the plunge , we only get one life and have to make the most of it! I'm sure it is all very scary at the moment but I think you are made of stern stuff and will get through....you have young Miss Kittikins to keep you smiling and supplied with hugs. Let us know here if there is anything on a virtual level that we can help with .....other than cyber hugs !
Well, we had hospital for OH this morning. This did not go to plan and we came away a bit saddened at how things have worked out. Not too good , so we will continue to plod along day to day and see if there is any improvement when he returns next month.
Any positives?
Well a very nice apple croissant at hospital cafe , before appointment.
Finding a carpark space that cost us $5.20 for 4 hours....and was next to a vey bright and cheery display of daffodils.( we have had to pay $40-60 before)
I went into work at 5am, to set up, so I could have morning off. The sky was full of the most beautiful stars.
We saw hot air balloons above the city skyline.
I got RTC spuds!
Had an hour and half at home before going back into work for the afternoon. OH ran me there and picked me up.
Saw a wild rabbit this morning , I was hoping so hard that it wouldn't run out in front of me.
Had a bag of minstrels.....not seen them in supermarket before (usually over priced imported sweety shops)
Wore new to me jeans that I bought on Monday for $4.00, they are perfect length and if I could just lose a few pounds would be perfect round the middle....I could fasten them...just couldn't breathe! They are my new favourite jeans (maybe if I didn't eat packets of minstrels!)
Made carrot & coriander soup for tea with crusty bread. Yummy.
We have decided that we do not want DD2 to be seen by a psychologist as we don't feel she needs one at the moment. I was really hesitant to complete forms which had to say why she needed support and what her problems were....er, 2 cows and constant nastiness.
That's me, half day at work, morning spent with OH and a bag of minstrels...life's not all bad0 -
DundeeDoll wrote: »Lol unfit kit more like. That said, i can now reach my bra strap with my left hand -before gym sessions couldnt get it higher than my waist :j:j:j
Dundee -Then I have a cunning plan... for your weekly experiences challenge , now that the bra strap is a doddle.. how about a Burlesque lesson or twelve ???;)never been one to turn down shaking my tail feathers in front of an audience - I would recommend it . V. liberating and bliddy good fun
Frith - I am sorry that I am not available as he sounds lovely and he is a farmer ! Please don't let him read the above message to Dundee
VJsmum - I have never heard of that song before - but love Tommy Cooper , it did make me chuckle as my Dad did fall (not jump I hasten to add) from a high roof and fell head first in to a pile of sand , he said he shook himself off and just carried on like nothing had happened.Funny what songs draw out of you .
PK - ((hugs)) to you my friend- every second is a step nearer to finding something that you would like to do and be valued for xx
Kittikins - you are taking it very well. I think that your skills as an OS and your many friends will be invaluable during this phase.
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Thanks for the hugs mhagster, I'm feeling quite overwhelmed today and am at home wondering what to do first and having had a look at jobs in the area, am more worried than I was before.
Luckily my parents have just phoned and they're coming down for the weekend and then taking DD away, so we're going to make a room by room list of what needs to be done and hopefully they will bring wine too!
DD's out playing at a friend's and she gave me lots and lots of lovely hugs this morning. She's helping me in the best way she can, by giving lots of love0 -
Sorry to hear your OH's appointment didn't go to plan, MHagster and hoping for better news next month.
Here are mine for today so far:
1) A lie in! Til 11am!!!
2) Porridge, blueberries and banana for breakfast/lunch.
3) Brother came round to look at the rain water flooding down the chimney and across the living room floor. :-(
4) Went for a cup of tea with one of my college friends.
5) Hopefully going out to see another school friend for tea but haven't managed to get in touch with her yet.
6) Text from OH to say he was about to get on the plane home. :-)
7) Thought of another! Got lovely woven name tapes for bigger son's high school uniform and they are iron on! Which saves all the sewing round the edge business. :-)0 -
1. Sunshine (and rain, darn it........washing is getting another rinse!)
2. Worked from home
3. Popped in to see OH for a bit
4. DD played with a friend all day and now she and her sister have come here for a bit. Love having people round
5. Have tackled a few things around the house - hung a few things on the walls, sorted out more stuff for charity and a few bits that I'm going to try and sell.
6. We are going out for dinner at a friend's house in a bit, will be nice to catch up with her.
7. Parents have arranged to come down for the weekend to help me do 'stuff'.
8. Looking forward to my 'news' being out in the open at work tomorrow, it has been hard to chat to my team about the future knowing I'm unlikely to play a part in it.0
