Hi all, thanks for the comments. Redundancy package still not been worked out so no idea what's really happening just now, other than the fact that I'm the only one in line for redundancy
Hugs to everyone that needs them, for whatever reason.
1. Being invited for a morning cuppa to friends - hadn't seen their flat so was nice to have a looksy
2. Getting lots of jobs done round the house today - washing, dishwasher sorted, dinner was sorted this morning and in the slow cooker - just got the bedding to change and bedroom to dust and hoover in a minute - can you tell I'm putting it off :rotfl:
3. Finding one online job advert to apply for last night. First one I've seen in a week.
4. The arrival of the private healthcare cheque - they paid me for having to be an NHS overnight patientThat more than makes up for the food
Plus it's almost a months salary so will come in useful with redundancy looming and OH with virtually no work.
5. Planning next week's online food shop and think £100 shop (so delivery is free) will last till mid feb - other than milk, fresh fruit and veg . That's longer than usual
6. Some art pastels I haven't ever used having 9 watchers and 4 bidsworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Evening all...
sorry to hear about the proposed redundany newlywed. Best of luck with finding something new.
So mines for today:
1) Off to the vet again this morning. So my pleasure was that my little love got a clean bill of health, though the vet gave me some antibiotics for him just in case he needs them.
2) I gave away a video recorder and some curtains on freecycle... it helped with my declutter and the people that I gave them to were really nice. I even got a sweet note back from one of them.
3) I have had a good clean out... the biggest pleasure was throwing out photo's of my psycho ex
4) Prepping my dried beans for the freezer. They are soaking at the moment so I will cook them later this evening.
5) Took my books back to the mobile library which parks about 50m from my front door. Now I don't have to worry about them being overdue.
Have a fabulous evening all.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
1) DD popped over to see if I had any ribbon she could scrounge, I did.
2) She had DGS with her, we had a lovely natter
3) I sent her home with a bottle of squash & a tin of bicuits, not much but she appreciated it.
4) Made DGS a marmite sandwich as he'd been to a party & all the food was sweet, nothing savory at all, he was desperate for some 'proper' food.
5) Slept on the sofa for 2 hours this afternoon, feel better for it.

5 from over the last couple of days!
1) Had my hair cut at college yesterday. Had LOADS off, from a long bob to quite short. It cost £3.25 (!) and was done by one of the year 3 students.
2) Saw Joseph last night! We all enjoyed it and got some chips in Worcester on the way home.
3) Next doors started replacing the fence today. I really wanted my 3 foot picket fence to stay but they're intent on putting up 6 foot 6 larchlap :-( BUT.... as a concession, they've bought a different panel to go right in front of my kitchen window and that's only 4 foot high with a trellis bit on top. They've taken out a few of their trees too so there will be more light (if a lot less of a view!)
4) Went swimming with my brother this afternoon.
5) Tea was enjoyed by all. I did "salmon cakes" which are just mashed potatoes and tinned salmon, mashed up, plonked in piles on a baking tray with some grated cheese on then browned in the oven. Did them with peas and carrots.
6) Got all my college homework done, quite pleased with myself as we had lots to catch up on thanks to the snow. Yesterday I got all my folder in order as we are being assessed on this module in a week or so. The course has flown by, I have enjoyed it.
7) Looking forward to sitting in front of the fire later watching Casualty.
Thanks to Ollie (I think it was?) who commented about the ex. Haven't heard a peep out of him since Monday. Its very weird to be seeing so little of him, very calm and quiet here.

Ollie - a belated welcome back to you.Today's pleasures:-
1. Lamb shoulders (vacuum packed) on offer in Mr. S. It's DS's favourite but most of the time I nearly have a heart attack when I see the lamb prices.
2. Coming in under budget even though I bought an extra lamb shoulder for the freezer.
3. Lovely lunch of jacket potato, left over corned beef from last night's hash and a salad of grated carrot and fenugreek sprouts.
4. Going to garden centre and not paying their prices but getting my seeds sooo much cheaper in W*lko and seed potatoes and onion sets from £land.
5. Cheap, cheap tea of pilcard pie was delicious and there's one for the freezer.

Evening all,
Mine for yesterday/today
1. Had some refresher training at work yesterday on a system I haven't used for about 4 years. Still remembered how to use it and on some points knew more than the trainer!!!
2. Shopping trip with DD today to Kingston and lunch. Not MSE but we did have a two for one voucher :money:and it was yummy.
3. DD making me a cup of tea this evening and had some chocolate (reduced by 75%) with it, yummy
4. Oh working this morning so some extra money coming in this month which is always good.
5. Chatting with my dad on the phone for quite a while, he normally just passes the phone straight over to mum so it was nice to chat with him for a change. I am a real Daddy's girl and miss the fact that I don't see them too often as they live at the other end of the country to me.
Ollie - you did make me laugh with your comments about the workmen, my gran would have been out there wiggling for all she was worth:rotfl:
Scotrae - Glad you managed to use your coupon in Tesco. I have used one on every shop so far this year and hopefully it will continue that way:money:
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all
Welcome back Olliebeak . well blimey on my birthday on Thursday got a letter saying my mortgage is going up 70 quid per month as I previously mentioned. Yesterday I got a letter from my old employers saying I owed them 1400 pounds that they overpaid me 5 years ago !!! I will contest this strongly as they told me my job didn't exist so I didn't return after my career break, so waiting to hear from them, blimey what next !!! Will ask about where my redundancy payment went if this is the case and hope they go away. Anyway onto brighter things
1. bought my fab sewing machine yesterday
2. didn't get out yesterday due to horrid weather so went to York with DH and DS today and it was very nice too.
3. Still scoffing yummy birthday cake !!
4. Feel quite energised about being 40 and ds starting full time school, I need to find a job and refind me !!!
5. Picked up a couple of nice bargains in Lakeland sale in York today
6. Just found a wine bottle from last night with a glassful left so just necked it

:rotfl::rotfl:PS Sparrer Had to laugh at your comment about workmen I can remember catching the bus to college when I was 17 and moaning to my Mum the workmen are so sexist, they keep whistling at me. My Mum said enjoy it while it lasts love, I know what she meant now:rotfl::rotfl::hello:

Acey - glad you enjoyed Joseph. I was listening to a radio interview with the lead yesterday and thought of you and yours.
Phew! What a day!
1. Using my new icing bag set (from Lakeland earlier this week) to pipe some really good trims and neat writing on my boys' birthday party cake. Plain sponge, chocolate buttercream and lots of little sweeties. One of my boys hugged me tight and thanked me with a very squealy voice when he saw it!
2. Feeling oddly organised ahead of my boys' birthday party - although I turned up to set up the venue to find one parent and children already waiting for us  and a second arrived before DH did :eek:.
3. Having some brilliant moments amid the chaos of the party. Farm shop hot dogs and hot choc with squirty cream and sprinkles - taken outdoors with glowsticks into the dark. A half-price 'ice fountain' on the cake was spectacular whlst the children sang Happy Birthday in the dark and stopped right on cue! Then we let two eco-sky-lanterns off ... I hope that my boys will remember that for years to come but once we got home it was all about the ridiculously generous gifts and huge sums of cash that their friends gave them!
4. Watching Live at the Apollo on TV tonight. Although it was a repeat DH and I were laughing out loud.
5. Going to bed with relief that it's over with and a slight sense of thanking my stars that I left teaching when I did.
