5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

1) A very successful Mushroom Ragout served with Riverford pototoes (recipe HFW in The Guardian). Mushrooms reinstated into culinary glory along with kallo mushroom stock key to the recipe.
2) a rescued excessively wet dough which I managed to turn into a Walnut and Rye Bread, walnut oil, walnuts, rye flour, organic white (all flours organic), salt, sugar, yeast.
Bread was initially proved for over 25 hours-maybe 30hours!!
The bread was not strong enough to rise without billowing so I shoved it for the first time into my Tesco lidded iron casserole-highly recommended! to cook it to stop the billowing.
The upshot is I now have a springy Walnut and Rye Loaf to enjoy to be my wholemeal loaf for the week.
3) Reading 3 x books so far this month!! (3 books a month is a bad showing when I could do more but have been over-focussed on the swearword TV which while it has it's uses is a derivative and repeats, attacking the working class.
4) Sitting outside on Table reading.
5) I discovered Firstsite a most wonderful Gallery so wouldbe friendly, I can bring my laptop!:money:
All Storecupboard or Organic box.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
Reading whatever books I want to the rescue!:money::beer[/B

7. saved enough money for my new fridge/freezer now. Need to find time with DH to go and buy it. Only the new cooker to save up for.
8. On a fed up note, I bought a car so I could access more areas to find work and some nice kind person has bumped the back. Grrrr.
9. Saw DH neice and her little boy on sunday and was a nice treat.

Hello, before we throw the iPod out the window I will post some pleasures!
We are trying to make a purchase and delivery of a washing machine to our UK house as tenants demand a washing machine......however. Although we have UK bank account the mail comes here and computer says no! different address. Slightly frustrated and my mum is trying to organize at her side to see if that can help.
And breathe....1... Looking forward to repeat of closing ceremony in 30 mins, bit late for me as I need to be up early for work but I'm sure for one night I'll manage.
2. Nice enough day at work.
3. Had a nice chat after work, for 5 minutes with a new customer who is from wales.
4. Enjoyed my walk to Carpark, the air just felt so lovely and fresh and Springy.
5. Walk to post office with DD1 and then we went to charity shop where all clothes were half price for this week. I got 3 pairs of jeans. One of my fave pairs has a hole forming in thigh and the others are a tad tight, so was glad to get some bargainous bargains.
6. Took kids to Thai restaurant for dinner, exceptionally lovely as always.
Going to get my jimjams on to watch concert. Have a lovely day x
Ooh! Another pleasure was a marks and spencer delivery again! I was so excited at opening my parcel, again I had managed to use discounts and offers to cancel out delivery charge .....very happy me0 -

1. baked some scones
2. some new pillows and mattress topper arrived this morning, looking forward to a more comfy sleep.

Good afternoon all!
VJsmum - welcome back !! Make sure you check that little old shiny sewer
OT thanks x
Sparrer - thanks re my OH . His other boss (also a Director of the company he works for) emailed the other to basically say what the heck are you playing at !
5 for yesterday
1. Lovely weather - watch strap mark is more visible now.
2. Hens joining me lazing around on the rug on the lawn . When I went in they were still sitting where the rug was.
3.Roast dinner
4. Watched some of the closing ceremony although what a mistake for poor Emily Sande (sp) the underarm sweat marks on that particular colour green dress . Someone should have thought of this surely , I would be mortified !
5. Gave my sister a marrow from the garden, eggs and a crab that OH had caught .
so far today...
I have been signed off by my g.p for a week who has referred me for an urgent MRI scan cos of my 'istory. Have been prescribed amitryptyline and co codamol - both of which I hate ! Anyway it was on the cards really .
Might be back to post today . OH has just gone to get the meds so I wouldn't bank on it !
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Chicken: take care! Don't do too much .0

Just a quick update with random pleasures from the weekend.
1) Got house tidy.
2) Went to OH's house on Saturday (not long got home) :-)
3) OH's cooking.
4) Went out to look at the Perseids on Saturday night. A bit cloudy so I'll pop out again later tonight.
5) The hammock.
6) Watching the Olympics and the closing ceremony (Though Liam was completely off-key).
7) Got home and my neighbour has brought my washing in for me!
Not seeing OH til Thursday now (he's teaching people in Finland how to use the new computer programme he wrote) and no boys here til Friday. So got to get lots done and use the time sensibly!0 -
