Good evening all !
PK - its nice to hear that you are taking it easy (NOT !);)
OT - its nice to have you back and you sound re energised
5 for today
1. Let hens out at 5.30am went back to sleep until gone 8ish which is a long lie in for me.
2. My legs are really shaky today -not a good sign but hey ho you can't have a tumour cut out of your spinal cord without some functional deficit now and then .I need to remind myself of this ( I know PK "pot and kettle")
3. Two lots of washing done and put away . OH had to hang it out due to the above.
4. Went out for a picnic by a river on a platform used by anglers - nice and secluded but close to the car so not far to walk . The most beautiful swan came along to join us.Which slightly terrified my DM:rotfl:I now have "Swan Lake" floating around in my brain.
5.Watching Benjamin Button as we fell asleep the last time that it was on .
Have a good evening all!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
TILAMS - I hope you had a good time at the football - I didn't see the match but, from the look of the final score, it must have been a great one to watch.Chickenopolis wrote: »4. I don't blame her - nasty vicious creatures! (I was attacked by one once and have never trusted them since.)

We have those in my family, too, except we call them 'cheese pinwheels'. They're wonderful things whatever you call them, made even better if you - dare I say it - spread the pastry with marmite.9. Finally got round to making DD a dentist appointment, I've been the world's worst mummy and not taken her to the dentist for a checkup for ages, due to my stupid, pathetic, nonsensible dental phobia.....but I conquered my fear! (Haven't made my own appointment yet......)
Shudder - I quite agree with you - I haven't been to the dentist since I was a kid.Inspired by your post, I pulled up a list of local dentists, but it might be a while before I summon up the courage to do anything with the list, particularly given the reaction I got last time I tried to find a dentist who could deal with a very nervous patient - the receptionist told me they were far to busy to deal with 'someone who thinks they deserve special treatment'.
Mine for today, typed while watching Mo run (go, Mo, go!):
1) A cheese and mushroom omelette for brunch.
2) Had a sudden brainwave this morning and thought I could turn some over-ripe plums that have been in the fridge for several weeks into jam. Unfortunately, after a very hot and entirely unsuccessful search round the shops for something to remove the sticky labels from the jars I wanted to re-use, I had lost any enthusiasm for the idea, but, rather than wasting the plums, I put them in the freezer ready for more appropriate jam-making weather.
3) Gave the windows a much-needed wash, and was pleasantly surprised by the good job I made of it.
4) A nice, refreshing shower after all that hard work.
5) Making a Thai veg curry for dinner, using the uber-cheap curry paste from AF. I've used two sachets as I find it a bit mild for a chilli-lover like me - I just hope I haven't overdone it now!
Have a nice evening, all - here's to a few more medals before it all finishes tomorrow.
ETA - yay!!! What a run from Mr Farrah! :j:j:jBack after a very long break!0 -
1. I had really big fussies with both my boys (horses) today, couldn't believe it they just stood there and wanted more and more - they usually have a little and then wander off!
2. Blitzed the bathroom big time, stepladders in there cleaning from top to bottom. Washed all the glass as well. It is gleaming so pleased.
3. Had a nice long chat with a friend this afternoon when she came round for tea and sympathy.
4. I spent zilch all day today, my purse was kept firmly shut.
5. Had the windows and doors open all day. Love it when the house smells so much fresher for it.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Evening all
Chicken I'm really sorry to hear your news, will keep my fingers crossed it's no more than an error of judgement on the part part of whoever caused your DH to be suspended, and hope it will be sorted out in his favour asap
Frith had to smile at the economy wash, hope you find an equally efficient but less expensive cycle soon
TILAMS I watched the match - of course - and wasn't it just amazing?! Anyone who was just making a cuppa at the start will have missed that first goal, couldn't believe it! The last one was a surprise too, so well done to both teams.
DD seeing anyone beat Arsenal at Wenbley would be good fun
OT welcome back, and well done on the de-clutter. It's a lovely feeling and strangely I don't feel one bit attached to the things I thought I would, once they've gone.
Mhags daffodils are beautiful aren't they, so simple and yellow and Spring
1. The wedding yesterday was just perfect, no less than my lovely sister deserved after all her hard work to make it exactly right for everyone. She's so considerate, always puts other people first and made sure everyone was included in everything. Best blessing is she found a man who is so lovely, thoughtful and kind, just like her. Money can't buy that
2. A np weekend, as DS is doing all the driving
3. DS, DD, DSiL an I went out for lunch today, a very reasonable pub lunch which was home cooked, filling and tasty. Love the (too rare) times my family is together
4. Spent this afternoon doing on line surveys while watching football, then handball. Reached target to claim another £15-worth of vouchers, I used to smoke and drink when watching television and while this isn't exactly big money it's a lot better for my for my pocket and my health
5. Watching Mo earn another medal. Love the banner which read 'Fly Mo'. Also watching all the other sports of course, and not bemoaning the fact I couldn't get tickets as thanks to television I could see everything which would have cost me a small fortune to go there. I know it's not the same atmosphere but all windows and back doors open and all neighbours shouting and encouraging the competitors was quite an atmosphere itself
DS and I both peckish so just going to make us some bacon and mushroom omelettes. Night night, sweet dreams0 -
Here are mine for the day:
1 breakfast in bed courtesy of DH, yogurt with strawberries and chopped nuts
2 another NSD
3 managed to do some of the outdoor workout, even if I was feeling unwell. At least I have clocked 1/2 hour of workout.
4 allotment is starting producing more veg, hopefully no need for veg shopping for a few weeks now!
5 feeling much better tonight, hope to get a good night sleep.
6 very exciting Olympics, well done Team GB!
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Just to teach me a lesson, a MAHOOSIVE filling came out of one of my teeth this morning, so I had to hotfoot it up to the chemist and buy one of the filling kitsI know that I won't be able to get an appointment untl September as the receptionist already told me that when I made DD's appointment. Grrr. Guess I can't put it off any longer.....*sigh*
1. Sunshine
2. Went to OH's sister's pool and garden for the afternoon - bliss
3. OH is herexxxxx
4. He treated us to lots of scrummy spices and wine to make a rather spicy curry and nice wine to wash it down
5. DD came back full of the joys of spring from her sleepover
6. Got lots of bits done around the house before she did
7. OH is here
8. Watching Tom Daley get the bronze
9. Just watching Mo Farrah get his medal.
10.. How many MEDALS?!?! Hope the Government rethink their decision to cut down on sport. Even though I'm rubbish at sports, I admire those that have the determination and talent to enjoy and succeed0 -

Sunday evening here....need to think about preparing things for back to work tomorrow ....why does the weekend always go so quickly?
1. Woke up early, had a potter about, had a shower ....fell asleep with wet hair....snoozed for a couple of hours and woke with horrendous hair.
2. Went for lunch with girls and OH came too, though he can't eat but at least he was there.
3. Did a little bit of gardening, it's such a big space that a little bit doesn't look like much but if I can try and do a wee bit at a time.
4. We have tenants for our house back home. This will make such a difference to the amount of money I have to send home each month. No more full council tax to pay, no more utilities to pay. Big sigh of relief from both of us......we won't mention the exorbitant property management fee we will be paying.
5.DS ( off his own back) went into city for a uni open day today. He was up at 7.30am, I thought there was something wrong with him!
6. Made meatballs and Bol sauce with pasta for tea.
7. Returned DVDs to library and borrowed some more.
Rather tired now and will need to set alarm to get up earlier to watch a bit of Olympic closing ceremony before work. I am vey proud to be British ( Scottish first as I've said before) but I think UK has done itself proud!
Have a lovely Sunday x0
