5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Great day, here are my pleasures:
1 Loving the sunny warm weather
2 Really easy babysitting, had fun with the little girls outdoor, forgot how sweet and clever they are at 4! Had some really interesting conversations, and a lot of Princess stuff too LOL
3 DD, DS and their friend went to a festival in the friend's car. Just got a text that they got there safely, thanks God.
4 Not having the twins around means a lot less work for me and a quiet house. Ok for a weekend, nice, but I would miss them and their chaos if it was for longer!
5 Went with DH and his cousin to view a flat nearby that the cousin wants to buy, as he now has a job in London. Very nice, quite pricey but he can afford it, and for what it is and the location it is an absolute bargain. Hope he gets it!
6 Planning a quiet evening indoors with DH, a cool beer in front of the TV watching the Olympics and an early evening, so we can have a very early morning tomorrow at the allotment.
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Evening all.
I woke up in the early hours of this morning with a really bad headache - the sort that makes you realise where the phrase 'splitting headache' came from - which vanished by the time I had to go to work, but it's left me feeling tired and muzzy-headed all day.I'll try for some pleasures, though:
1) A colleague in another department has agreed to take on a particular task for the time being, until we find a more permanent solution, as I'm fed up with getting snarky emails about it from other people. I can see why they're unhappy with the situation, and I agree with them, but it wasn't my doing and getting snotty with me isn't going to help!
2) The last of the tuna pasta for lunch - I'll definitely be making that recipe again.
3) The usual pleasure of dealing with Lakeland - I placed an order (sale stuff, of course :money:) that was supposed to be delivered to my nearest store tomorrow, but it won't now be there until next week - the lady I spoke to was very apologetic and offered to phone the store to let them now that I'll be in to get it next week, so it doesn't get sent back when I don't turn up when it's delivered to the store on Monday. :T
4) Cashed in a winning scratchcard - my sister and I bought it as a joke, and it won! :j (OK, it only won £3, but hey...)
5) Treated myself to a RM Quorn curry as it was on a 'try me free' offer - I don't usually buy ready meals but I'm not one to turn down free food, and it will be good if I don't feel like cooking one night.
Have a nice evening, all - I'm going to go and be very lazy and watch the BMX racing from earlier while eating my dinner - there's nothing like watching other people being energetic to bring on an appetite.Back after a very long break!0 -
1. Picked our first (and so far only) courgette
nomnomnom
2. Sunshine
3. Worked from home
4. DD came into my bed last night and was lovely and cuddly this morning
5. She's out at a sleepover nowfor her, I'm a wee bit bored and avoiding doing stuff.......and my evening out has been cancelled, but am enjoying watching the diving
6. Another chum texted to invite DD and I over for dinner next week
7. Took back some bits I bought for the bathroom and bought cheaper ones online
8. Hoping that OH will be able to get us access to his sister's pool this weekend (she's away), if the weather stays like this, it'll be bliss!
9. Finally got round to making DD a dentist appointment, I've been the world's worst mummy and not taken her to the dentist for a checkup for ages, due to my stupid, pathetic, nonsensible dental phobia.....but I conquered my fear! (Haven't made my own appointment yet......)0 -
5 or so for today (Friday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Texts from OH. :-)
3) Brother brought my "new" washing machine over. I did an economy cycle to try it out and it took 2.5 hours! Clothes were very clean...
4) Went to mum and dad's and sons made a film. So spent an afternoon on Movie Maker cutting bits and adding sound effects (it was acted out by 2 action men and was the first time smaller son did some dialogue).
5) Tasty tea of baked potatoes and pizza.
6) Having a good tidy up now, sons are going to watch a film after their bath which should let me get on a bit.
7) Looking forward to seeing OH tomorrow. :-) Wish I had the gift of the gab so I could word a text to tell him.
In other news, the ex husband has been in trouble with the police again. :-/ Have had an almost identical story from two completely unconnected people now so looks very likely. I don't know whether he has been charged.0 -
Frith - you have the gift of the gab, all your text to OH needs to say is "Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow x" - seeeemples0
-
Kittkins - ah, but I would hesitate to text something like that in case he doesn't particularly want to see me tomorrow. *falls off chair under weight of self doubt*0

Pick yourself back up - of course he wants to see you, you silly goose! Be confident in you and him, you've been together for a year and yes, I know at times it's ultra-scary being in a relationship and with emotions/backgrounds/external things you may feel like he's not always 'there' for you, but........he certainly is. I'm right behind you, you won't fall........
Be bold x0 -
1. Paid the cheque from my tax rebate into the bank this morning.
2. Had a nice chat with our favourite butcher ( he does things exactly as we like them and for that I appreciate him very much).
3. Washed an old half moon rug yesterday (very 1990's with flowers over it) and it dried fully today, I cut the tassells off as they were worse for wear and that rug is now in our front porch coming into the entrance to the house. (we have two mats but a big porch). Anyway it does look really nice and the labrador is happy to go back out there again. he had stopped going out there to welcome visitors and his dad home because as he is old now he kept slipping on the floor tiles.
4. Had a sit in the chair this evening in the bay window watching a waning summer sun drop in the sky.
5. Still admiring the clean house and the kitcvhen blinds had a lovely sheen on them today in the sun.
Have a great weekend all xCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
