    Chicken:- How's your back doing?

    1. We had a trip to the vets with 2 ferrets this morning, as we were there early and needed to hang around for the operations we went into town and
    2. Stopped at a cafe as it was to early for shops for a English brekkie each.
    3. We picked up some charity shop bargins, a lovely top for me, and t shirt for DH, and we bought lots of things from Pound land.
    4. Picked up the animals safe and sound, you wouldn’t know they’d just had major ops.
    5. Making left over chicken and mash pie tonight.
    6. Sort of a pleasure first day back at work tomorrow, it will be nice to get some earnings back in. But I am also a bit apprehensive, I hope they don’t think I was skiving for the Olympics!?!?!:(

    Good evening all!

PK - how could they think you were skiving you were in hospital ! ((hugs)) to critters albeit gently x

Mhagster - girls can be so nasty and vicious , your poor DD x I could never have bullied anyone , quite the opposite I would always (and do) stick up for the underdog . Are there no other girls or boys to say "hey, that's enough"? She is also probably worried about her Dad too ?

Sparrer - my parents used to have those at parties !!!Wow nostalgia .

VJsmum - did they make an Amish woman out of you then ??? Seems like you are having a wonderful time and cramming so much in !

    5 for today

    1. Had to check that certain things were functioning correctly and safely in a massive institution . It took over 2.5 hours just walking round the place - I am cream crackered but this seems to have helped my back !?

    2. Going back next week to check they have done what is required.Or else.

3.The air con. in the OGV:D it was a long drive.

    4. Going out soon for a pizza courtesy of Mr. T

    Evening all.

    1) Only half a day in the office, as I had the afternoon off to meet up with my sister, my sister's ex-partner's mother (who I'll refer to as her MIL, as she more-or-less is), and my / DSis' mother. The afternoon was more pleasant than I expected, albeit mostly because DSis hadn't told her MIL about the break-up, which was a bit awkward, although kindly meant as my sister didn't want to spoil her MIL's rare trip away from home.

    2) Watching a swarm of jellyfish in Portsmouth Harbour. I don't usually care for the creatures, but I was at the top of an 8 foot wall so they clearly couldn't get at me!

    3) A funny sort of pleasure, but watching the sea fog roll in in the late afternoon, turning a glorious sunny day to instant murk.

    4) The wonders of the mobile internet, which meant I could keep an eye on Team GB's medal tally while out and about. (Which reminds me, I must go and watch the highlights of the dressage - what a great result for our riders. :T)

    5) Pub quiz tonight, a pleasure for its own sake and also because it gave me a legitimate excuse to leave the family gathering early. :o

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    V quick 5 before Usain!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Stuff through the post re: smaller son's statement.

    3) Went into town and looked round charity shops.

    4) Had lunch at the chinese buffet.

    5) Met my friend and looked round the new library (where she works).

    6) Mum and dad did my washing for me.

    7) Brother has found me a "new" washing machine for £35.

Bad news - got a speeding ticket. Have been driving since I was 17 and never had one before. :-( Was doing 35 going into a 30 area. So will do the speed awareness course.

    2. Had a big cleaning blitz - wow was I in the mood for it and the results are fab.

    3. I felt so dirty by the end of the cleaning blitz, sweaty as well, and I had a shower - my goodness I just feel sooo clean now. Love that urgh so dirty feeling to being so fabby clean.

    4. Emptied the dishwasher and then ran it through on empty with a nice vinegar solution in it. It was gleaming and wonderful smelling afterwards.

    5. A nice feeling walking around the house tonight it smells so fresh from the cleaning and having the windows open and everywhere looks so clean, orderly and nice.

    6. Oh nearly forgot got a tax rebate of £118.00. Ace don't get many nice surprises like that very often but it was welcome thank you Inland Revenue x

TILAMS to say I'm envious is an understatement. I've had the comp on almost 24/7 for the past few weeks trying to get tickets for DS and myself for Saturday's final with no luck :(. Have a super day, cheer loudly so we can all hear you

VJsmum you're amazing at organising a full and eventful holiday. If I ever need an itinerary I'll know who to come to :D

    1. DD altered a necklace and bracelet for me, they were black and red chunky beads but each one had a very odd dull green bead in it. She took those out so they now match my outfit and I can wear them tomorrow

    2. As I was disappointed re the footie final, DD has suggested I go to watch her pub team play on Sunday. DS is ref'ing and the pub team they're playing is laying on a buffet for afterwards. Will be nice to see DS in action, he's a premier league ref so he'll be on a busman's holiday :)

    3. Called into M@t@l@n to look for cushions, there was a tiny stand with boots and shoes in a sale, and all 3's, my size! Got a pair of tan suede boots, a pair of black strappy boots and a gorgeous pair of burgundy court shoes for £3 a pair :j:j. Original price was £58, I still can't believe my luck! Oh, and yes I did need them ;)

    4. Found two lovely green striped oblong cushions in a wool-type fabric reduced from £8 to £4 each

    5. Filled the car up ar Mr S's garage, got a till spit for £4 off a £30 shop spend. Went into the store and spent £30. 67p. In total today I spent £47.67, and saved £61.

    6. DSis's wedding in Enfield tomorrow with an evening dinner, so may not post til Sat

Have a good night and a sunny day tomorrow :)

    1. Getting all my washing and ironing done in one day after coming back from hols last night.

    2. Cooking a stew for dinner after not eating home cooked food while on hols.

    3. Catching up on Emmerdale.

    4. Having a glass of wine after all the laundry was finished tonight.

    5. Catching up on MSE after being away for a week.

Frith - what a relief on the speeding ticket that you can do the course! The one time I was caught speeding, it was quite a bit faster in a 30 zone, in the 40s.........and I had no option but to have points and a fine :(

Thankfully it's come off my licence now :)

    1. OH is back and we've been chatting and texting today, will see each other on Saturday :)

    2. Planned a night out at a girly chum's tomorrow as DD's off on a sleepover

    3. Have gone overdrawn :( but at least the car now has petrol :) I know, a strange kind of pleasure.......!

    4. DD and I went to the library and she rejoined the reading challenge and read a book whilst we sat outside the library in the sun! I disturbed her quite a bit by reading our random facts from a book I borrowed that was full of fascinating if mostly useless facts :):)

    5. Sunshine :)

    6. My burned arm is fine, it's amazing! The burn mark is there but no pain, yay!

    7. After a very sad night last night after we had a call that my parents' dog had to be put to sleep and a slightly subdued breakfast, DD bounced back to her happy self. We had lots of hugs and chats about the lovely dog who really was a huge part of DD's life, and I hope I said the right things to her.

    8. Had some very yummy and YS bread today, have eaten far too much, bread is my downfall but what the heck..... :)

    9. Our paralympic tickets arrived today, yippee!

    10. DD and I had a good game of Monopoly this evening, she's so funny - she decided that one of the properties was too expensive, so tried to barter with the bank to buy it cheaper!

Hello Kraftykat, lovely to meet you :) Hope you had a good holiday somewhere sunny and have brought it back with you for the foreseeable future!!
