Loving the Parrot ideas it's making me chuckle out loud :rotfl:
Thank you, I have to listen and take it easy so no worries, I was planning to get back to work tomorrow but everyone is saying no, so will have to wait until Friday, it may seem odd but gets me back into the swing of it and can recover, and I will have earnt a days pay.
1.It was lovely to wake up not being prodded about with blood pressure beeping, so I laid in today pretty much awake all of the time just resting up.
2.Didn’t do very much at all.
3.We did pop to Costco to see if I could manage it, and I did get a few pains but nothing earth shattering. We did a very small shop and bought home tea for tonight and leftovers for tomorrow.
4.Played with the ferrets in the garden, they love the wet grass.
5. Relaxing and meandering around websites.0 -
1. Worked from home
2. Popped over to a friend's for coffee, which turned into lunch with her and some other chums (and about a gazillion children running around - not mine, she was at a club)
3. Came away with a tub of hummous with about 3 dips out of it that apparently wouldn't get eaten!!! What the heck?!? Why bother buying it if you're only going to use it as a spread for a couple of tortilla wraps.....oh well, will be a great snack for DD and her chum tomorrow afternoon
4. Realised I'd forgotten some vital things at the supermarket yesterday so went again and was able to use lots of vouchers etc to make it molto cheaper (not molto cheap but less extortionate than I was anticipating)
5. Reverbe'd a 2p
6. Was the best mummykins ever when I took DD to the park after her club
7. Remembered to go and order my prescription at the doctors' surgery this afternoon - phew!
8. OH comes home tomorrow(shame he'll be at his, with his son for another week, so we won't see or speak to each other much, don't want to embarrass the teenage son!)
9. Great game of backgammon with DD
10. Have been doing more research into possible career change and am excited but worried about the prospect of going back to uni for a year with no income! Needs a lot of thinking about...
11. Tomorrow is no longer going to be "D-day" at work, meeting has been pushed back to Monday and may be a general meeting after all. Fingers crossed!
12. One of the girls at lunch has offered to lend us her Union flags for our trip to the paralympics, saving me some moolah as I know DD will want to wave one around
13. DD and her friend have finally worked our their sleepover night, yippee!
14. She'll also be going over to play one day next week so one less day for me to need to book off, hoorah!0 -
Evening all, very tired so a quickie..
get well (((hugs))) to the poorlies, stay well hugs to the not poorlies:)
1. Appt with physio this morning, the down side is the lung capacity isn't quite as good as my last appt, the up side is thanks to gym and pulm classes I'm still breathing and it hasn't got me yet. And I've no intention of letting it!
2. Made a lasagne a la Hairy Bikers, using leek 'sheets' instead of pasta. It was more tasty that the real thing
3. DD's parrot still isn't playing, spend ages saying 'Help' but all he did was tut at me and turn his attention to a walnut
4. The decorating is all done and looks amazing, especially the suede wall. Didn't realise how dull everything had got
5. All the curtains and nets have been washed, ironed and re-hung. I was going to replace the lounge ones but they've come up so well they look like new. That will save me a £good amount.
Night night, sweet dreams0 -

Yesterdays -
1. Exhausted after DD (6 months!) finally went to sleep at 8.30pm, woke at 12pm for a bottle, woke again at 2am, woke at 4am for a bottle, and woke again at 5am, before finally sleeping until 7am. Pleasure is that as a SAHM I could be exhausted at home instead of work!
2. My mum came in for a coffee and ended up staying for 2 hrs helping in the garden and kitchen and also entertaining my son for 45mins whilst I tried controlled crying with DD for the first time.
3. Went food shopping in eve and staying within budget despite adding a few treats.
4. Homecooked tea despite the exhaustion - didn't resort to a takeaway.
5. Decided on and implemented a new routine - at least I feel I have a plan to tackle the sleeping now.
6. Bedtime routine worked a treat and DD went to sleep at 7pm in her cot on her own - YEY!!
Todays -
1. DD slept through, I only had to get up once in the night as she had rolled over and got stuck but she slept the whole night and didn't have a single bottle!!!
2. DD napped early this morning (again in her cot!) so DS and I make oatmeal cookies from my new recipe book I got for my birthday.
3. Macaroni cheese taken out of the freezer to defrost, we will have this with garlic bread slices for tea followed by apple and sultana crumble which DS and I also made.
4. Spent time with DS (2.5yrs) going through the number and shape flashcards I made for him. He can almost count to 20 and knows 14 out of the 17 shapes. Also spent time with DD trying to teach her to sit by herself.
5. DS napping now which gave me time to complete a pinecone survey & update here.
6. Weather looking good for the weekend which is lovely as hubby has booked Fri & Mon off as it is the weekend of our 5th wedding anniversary - we have been together for 9 years!
Thats all for now xx
Stacey2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.
Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(0 -
Woah, I am thinking tee shirts, or an old police record, not criminal sparrer, bu Walking on the Moon? I think balls as they do not allows me to attend. So Now, I have a solution to the Parrot Problem. I shall change my name to Long John Silver, mes Hearties!
No, can grumble, I will just keep a breast of things round the parish.
5 Still think Olympic Sports and Changes. Cycling, why do they put that stupid post man out on the white bike? He clearly jumps the start. Better, how about having them stop at the horn and changing the tyre? Or tacks on the track!
No, the Ultimate elimination contest, on the Closing Ceromony, all Gold Medal winners have to play Dodge Ball, to select the Ultimate Olympian.
4 Having to feed the Tiger a dose of tablets is getting harder, little runt knows when he is up on the side what happens, still, wrapped in towel and a good flick, job done!
3 Urghhhh NHS, Serptember, urgh, No, I am in BUPA, throws letter down.
2 Ms Sonny is so caring about her little puss, she had hand fed him brekkies on the sofa. Whatever. I never get breakfast in bed.
1 Riches can be given out so that we can share, buy goods and just pile. Where do I keep mine. You have a choice, I keep mine under my hat. Good.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

Sonny - Men are allowed to walk on the moon as long as they wear a bra as well0

Just had a hilarious thought - can you imagine if all Mhagster's parrots suddenly chorused 'Help! They've turned me int a parrot' in an Aussie accent? It could be bedlam! :rotfl:
>sparrer slips out of the room, chuckling dementedly....0 -
Surely they'd say "G'day Mate!" first?!
and don't forget the upward inflection at the end, I noticed DD doing that the other day and am keen to quash it.....(see I'm not the nicest mummy in the world, evil cackle)
