2.OK ish day at work
3. My back has seized up so will need to just lay around until the spasms subside and/or the Valium kicks in and I become "comfortably numb" as the song says ....OH is out tonight so it will be quiet and I will get the sofa to myself.
4. Arranged to go out with Mum on Thursday evening to use up pizza vouchers , not told OH yet but he will not want to miss out I am sure.

Evening all.
I'm feeling a bittoday after hearing the news that my DSis has split up with her long-term partner. I guess
1) is that DSis had enough confidence and self-esteem to break away from an increasingly abusive relationship. (In the interests of fairness, I should say her now ex-partner was never violent, but he had verbal and psychological abuse down to a fine art.)
2) After yet more PC problems at work (I'm considering making my computer a forced entrant in the new Olympic sport, PC discus - I want to make it fly!), someone from the IT department came to do some physical repairs, but realised when he arrived that he'd left his screwdriver in the workshop. Luckily I have a Swiss army knife on my keyring, which did the trick nicely and left me feeling vaguely smug at being so organised.
3) 22 gold medals. 22!
4) Tuna pasta bake for dinner, using up various odds and ends that needed using.
5) Managed to dodge the rain showers all day, and I'm not going to make it to the quiz tonight so I won't have to go out in it now, either.
Have a good evening, all, and look after yourselves Chicken and PK.Back after a very long break!0 -
I have taken great pleasure today in sorting out the finances, does that count as old style? I feel the need to shout about it :jbut I am on my tod
!
I complained about a card protection service taking money without sending me a renewal notice. Turns out the sneaky !!!!!!s have been doing it since 2008and  however they are going to refund me, that is £39.99 a year for four years coming my way!
I finally got around to ordering some glasses to wear for PC use, got two nice pairs for £48.95 with an offer and a code, down from £130
Just called Orange on the off chance they would downgrade my package - contract ends in January. Paid off, just saved myself £20 a month between then and now starting this month, that's another £100 saved. :money:
And I have signed up for Quidco and Topcashback too, as I have made a few purchases online - taking advantage of some sales and being a little bit flusher this month than expected - and that was before any of the above!
Signed up online to the Tesco Clubcard account, have set that to turn my points into Virgin Air Miles as I already have some from a trip to Vegas last year, adn we want to go to Florida in five years. Need to get myself a Nectar card now as we are with British Gas and shop in Mr J S's....DH has got one but after 9 years of living together he still hasn't managed to get me a card :rotfl: we are in credit for the electricity DD, but behind in the gas one - thanks, great British summer - hopefully it will even out as one has gone down and the other up!
Generally feeling very satisfied at having sorted out some admin stuff that has been hanging around for a while, too. All I need to do now is to sort out that massive pile of eBay stuff... and arrange for our free cavity wall insulationthen I will be able to get a halo for excellent organisational skills :A
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

I'm in such a bad mood it's ridiculous. Should really be putting fury into cleaning the bathroom but better to sit here typing with half a toblerone and a cup of tea...
Rubbish bits - bigger son tripped up crossing the road outside the house, skinned his elbow, side of hand etc. Then laid into me and smaller son like nothing on Earth - shouting, screaming, swearing like a navvy.
Eventually had to manhandle him to the naughty step ignoring the grazed bits to stop him from kicking and hitting out at us. Calmed him down, got plasters (and they were "wrong"). He was so awful, smaller son sat on the sofa, watching him and crying. :-(
Went to Sainsburys and he was STILL going on about how I had not helped him (?) and he ended up giving me a karate kick in the shin that has come up in various colours.
Had to go to mum and dad's to pick up our washing (no washing machine yet) and smaller son had a fit about going there, then had a fit when I moved the car (I was actually pulling up outside the house but he decided I had driven off without him). Cue more screaming and swearing aimed at me. Then he decided he didn't want to stay at mum and dad's so moaned about going home.
They were both in bed very early!
Still wondering what to say/do re: other half. Still feeling surplus to requirements where he is concerned. Its silly little things that bring it home to me. Someone I know has a new girlfriend and put a photo of himself (and her) on facebook and he seems so proud of her. So I start thinking you could look at OH's FB page and not know I exist. You can go to his house and see photos of his ex-wife... there is no sign of anything to do with me. It's been a year and I haven't met a single one of his friends - not one!
Oh yes! And the psych nurse was supposed to come to see smaller son at 2pm today - and forgot! So can't fit in another home appointment for weeks and weeks.
Anyway, 5 or so for today.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) All washing clean and put away (becomes very important when you don't have a washing machine).
3) House quite tidy, just need to do the bathroom. And I will do it tonight.
4) Went to Sainsburys, finally.
5) Planning something to do tomorrow. I have a season ticket for Ironbridge Museums so it might be there. Or Birmingham on the train but can't decide where to go (free) when I get there. We have done BMAG to death.
6) Found mum the piano sheet music she wanted online and printed it off. Had to have piano score and accordian chords and be in the key of D or G!
CCP - is DSis your sister? Good for her! My sister went out with a most unlikeable man for several years and has recently started going out with someone lovely. :-)
