Definitely jealous, VJsmum! I also found the following while browsing for ideas to add to my ever-growing bucket list, some of which I don't think I'll be adding (but wish I had the nerve!)...

    1. Make vanilla pudding, put in mayo jar, eat in public
    2. Get into a crowded lift and say 'You're probably all wondering why I gathered you here today...'
    3. Run into a store and ask what year it is. When someone answers, yell 'IT WORKED!' and run out cheering
    4. Buy a parrot, teach the parrot to say 'Help, I've been turned into a parrot!' - I'm working on this one, my daughter has a parrot I'm trying to teach :D

In reality my list includes night fishing (never been fishing in my life, but hey, why not?!)
Visit the little town in Mass. where my forefathers settled, and join in the annual Peace Pagoda walk
Learn more Cantonese and attend a convention of my fellowship in HK
    Milk a cow!
    etc etc...

Back to reality, the big pleasure of the morning was getting the lawn mowed before the deluge, it came down in sheets so hard could barely see out of the window . Stopped now and the sun is out again so back to doing the edges then Olympics, of course. Will definitely be looking out for torpedos and sharks :rotfl:

    Good afternoon all

    My pleasures for the day:

1 - Turned the 2-day old leftover pancake batter into pakoras, adding a handful of spinach from the garden and a few mushrooms that were in dire need of being used. Lots of oil left after frying the lot, so added a few more mushrooms, half a pepper, a bit of gram flour, water and spices, and made even more pakoras. The family scoffed them all!

2 - The TV aerial man is coming to replace our old aerial and tune our TV. It is going to cost quite a bit (£189) but it will pay for itself in 13 months, as we have cancelled Virgin. We don't watch lots of TV so the main 5 channels are sufficient for us, although it is possible that we might get more with the new, more efficient aerial.

3 - DH drove me to Lidl to do my birthday party shopping and it came within budget (already got the booze the other day with £5 off voucher at Aldi).

4 - Market shopping for veg, realised I did not need quite as much as usual as we have greens, beans and lettuces in the garden and allotment, so total veg spend was £1.70. Bargain!

5 - It is so lovely to have DH back!

Have a good day all x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Evening all.

    I now know why I felt so off-colour yesterday - I've got a cold. :(

    1) After spending most of the night lying awake coughing, I finally got to sleep just after 6am, so I had a lie-in to make up for it a bit.

    2) My favourite brunch of hard-boiled eggs on buttered HM bread.

    3) Watching the Olympics, including yet more medals. :j

    4) Decided to make a pizza rather than buying one. :money:

    5) More medals! :j:j

Have a nice evening, all - I'm going to go and watch some more medals. :D
Back after a very long break!

Evening! Quickly, just before tea, I've got some pleasures to post. Here goes!

    1. Watching the Olympics - it has been nice to watch sport all day.
    2. Got both freezers defrosted.
    3. Made a lovely chicken & ham pie for tea, with homemade chips.
    4. Used a coconut oil treatment on my hair and it feels nice & soft.
    5. Today has been an NSD! Also, I haven't taken my car out so haven't used fuel either :D
    6. We've had about 3 lovely cracking thunderstorms today.

The beeper on my oven is about to go, and I'm going to dish up my lovely pie ... I make it all in one so when the bacon & chicken are browned I add flour and stock to make a sauce ... mmm

I'm going to enjoy this :D

    K xx

Sparrer - good luck with the parrot :)

Frith - Happy Birthday Master Frith, hope he's had a great day :) x

    1. Sunshine

    2. Neighbour gave me DD £5 to buy her a treat.....he's kind of becoming a grandad to her, but I am a little worried about his flirting with me! So, I bought her some posh cheese from the market that she loved to bits and a punnet of strawberries that barely touched the sides.

    3. Put a teensy bit of petrol in the car, so no NSD for me

    4. DD restrained me from going into the big MrT's to see if there were bargains, reminding me that we have lots of food at home...

    5. Did some weeding

    6. Finally put up our bathroom sign - we don't have a lock on the door, so will turn the sign over when its occupied, its very cute.

    7. Finally put a hook in the back of the bathroom door for dressing gowns

    8. Planning on using a drill for the first time later to put up a towel rail and possibly the loo roll holder!

    9. Have started stripping wallpaper in the kitchen, am just going to do the bits I can reach, no standing on ladders for me, my papa can hopefully do the rest at some point!! :)

    10. Dinner was delicious - defrosted leftovers from the freezer, with rice. I had to persuade DD to try the 'green stuff', spinach dahl, but when I did, she loved it and had seconds :)
