Love reading this thread, everyone trials and tapestry to show, and what comes through. Yep, Girls and Chocolate. You know it is the only substance that melts at body temperature.
Phew, that calls for a cooling Wobbleade.
Pleasure to Treasure
5 Quiz with frioends last night, absolute pants in Music round. Got close again, but the snakes and adders board is a stinker. But gives everyone a chance to win. Jacpot rolled over again.
4 Just had a train go past with what sounds like a flat whistle, it was the absolkute poants version. More wet than I could think of. Come on Cross Country, get your whistloes sorted.
3 Watching the fencing, still think they should do it on Bungee Ropes. Good watching all the other sports.
2 Curious as to why peolple are miserable. Yous only got one shot, and I should had exited 21 years ago when I had pneumonia. I walked out of the hospital, others did not. Now with me broken heart, still it is chin upo and laugh a day, cos I aint not ghoing, yet, I am a weeble! Might wobble, but does not fall down. So cheer up and get on.
1 Today you have a choice, you can sit there, do nought, be cross and say bad things. Today you have a choice, to cross the road, to lift your load, to put your hand on a shoulder, to listen.

Morning
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Another day of remembering to take lunch with me to work
2. Washing and ironing still upto date :A
3. Evening out with OH to the cinema (orange wednesday), dinner and a drink in the pub.
4. Nice catch up with my friend at work, both been a bit busy lately so not had chance but as both our bosses were out today, well....:D
5. Vouchers arriving from Mr.T, just need to decide on a family treat to spend them on.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
A chilly start to day, windscreen was iced up but nipped out 5 minutes earlier to start car, hung a washing on clothes horse then went to work!
1. Was actually enjoying the busyness of work until around lunchtime....another young colleague came in , in a bad mood and did not like being asked to do stuff by me! So was humphing and stomping around in a foul mood! Get over yourself love!
2. Finally got a dripping tap in bathroom fixed by estate agents handyman. We reported this 3 weeks ago, 2 weeks ago and then again on Monday...we are charged for our water usage so I was annoyed we were losing water. Anyway, done this afternoon and we don't have to listen to dripping tap anymore, and we don't have to pay.
3. Parrots on my drive home.
4. The most stunning sunrise on my drive to work , noisy parrots, coots and even the moorhens seemed excited this morning and were hooting as I walked over the bridge on way to work. I always say hello to them.
5. Opticians visit with girls. DD1 does not need glasses and DD2 chose a new pair. We pay then claim back from insurers. No free specs for kids here!
OH felt the tiniest bit brighter today , I think he's starting to go a bit stir crazy at home with rubbish Telly for company. At least at night the Olympics are on and he has something different to watch.
Have a good day0 -
Good afternoon,
As I am unlikely to post again today, I am recording my pleasures so far for today and a couple of advance ones too.
1 - Talked with DH first thing in the morning, only 1 more night apart, he will be back tomorrow!
2 - Pancakes for breakfast, with the plum and blackberry jam I made yesterday, my friend came along to share and brought some double cream to go with them, double yummy!
3 - DD and DS took the cats to the vet and they are fine. Expensive to have them vaccinated and wormed but at least we know they are healthy, especially now that they are getting a bit older (8 this year).
4 - Enough pancake batter leftover to give us more pancakes for tomorrow morning, breakfast sorted!
5 - Looking forward to my outing with my friend this afternoon and evening, planning a cheap £ 4 all you can eat vege curry in town.
Have a good day allFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

I agree to an extent with you TILAMS. Maybe some of us have to have a distressing experience to truly appreciate what we have. Some of us shouldn't be here today but are strong enough to overcome as much as we can. Unfortunately not everyone can help themselves and will benefit from the support of whatever channel they need to reach out to, whether it be family, health professionals or forums like this. I consider myself to one of the fortunate ones whose life experiences made me stronger, hopefully I also have a little strength and compassion to spare for those less fortunate
Thanks everyone for the kind words re the tyre. You're right Chicken, not having much luck with them atm. The garage empathised but did say these things come in threes - thanks a lot Mr Mechanic! But if that's all I have to moan about it can't be a bad day..
Back later with my 5, enjoy the afternoon Olympics0 -
Back from holiday, which was wonderful. I'm spending less time on the Net, as I don't usually watch much TV, but the Olympics are on. I am from a family that got a TV not for the Coronation but for the 1960 Rome Olympics..
1. Getting cheap fruit and veg and passing on the bargains to a friend. A large Iceberg lettuce, four spring onions, half a dozen tomatoes and half a cucumber for a quid.
2. The Olympics - all of it, love it, love it, love it.
3. Using my new steam iron that I got to test ... it's great.
4. Bought some really good books whilst I was away.
5. Warmish weather and finally able to wear some summery clothes.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
He's not coming
he haa the visa but flights are extortionate and he will get slightly less than a week.
gutted.
i could play the victim card - are we not worth the money etc etc but kids and i now think that if he comes he will resent it all. if they moan or play up or something is expensive or whatever then he will be miswrable and cross.
so we will go on and have the best time
and make him pay when we get homeI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Afternoon all.
Some of mine from the past few days, as I didn't make it on to the forum after all:
1) My DPs' mog, who I went to visit because she had seemed to be at death's door, was purry, furry and mischievous, and generally acted like a cat who was in no hurry to trot across Rainbow Bridge. I feel I was visiting under false pretences, but I can't really complain when she looked so happy.
2) DPs' pony allowed me to put him out in his field, despite being followed by their horse, who was dancing, kicking and bucking like a foal - he's actually in his late twenties, but you'd never have guessed it from his behaviour. :rotfl:
3) The nice barman in the pub where I met my DPs saw me straining to watch the horses on TV and turned one of the sets round so I could see what was happening. :T
4) Visited a nice garden with my DM - it was full of my favourite dahlias, in every colour and shape you can imagine.
5) The lovely glass suncatcher, shaped like a goldfinch, which my DM bought me.
6) Picked some tomatoes in my GM's garden and even persuaded her to eat one, despite it being 'a funny colour' (it's one of the dark purplish coloured varieties).
7) Visited the independent watch shop / jewellers' in the village to get a new strap for my watch - it's slightly more expensive than my local market, but much better quality. (And they sell nice earrings, too..)
8) Got my OU course result and it was a good pass - an excellent result given that I didn't really care about the course.
9) When I got home yesterday afternoon I left my front door open briefly as I had my hands full and then found that the little calico cat had followed me inside and was sitting in the middle of the living room looking round approvingly. Luckily she doesn't object to being picked up as I had to carry her back outside before my mog spotted the interloper. :rotfl:
10) Cuddles with my own mog - he fell asleep tucked under my chin last night, which wasn't very comfortable as he's a big cat!
Hugs to everyone who needs them - I've obviously missed a lot over the last few days.Back after a very long break!0 -
Afternoon
Got a few pleasures to post for once
Here goes:
1. Took a different route home and picked up the smells from a nearby bakery - chocolate chip muffins
2. Found £5 in unused clubcard vouchers. I thought I was hot on these things but ...
3. Sat up straight with my back supported. I feel a bit happier when I feel my posture is good.
4. The Olympics has given some good talking points in the office.
5. The sun is shining immediately after a rain shower. I've been looking around for a rainbow but haven't seen any yet.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening. (((hugs))) to those in need.

VJsmum sorry to hear OH not joining you, but as you say maybe its for the best now as you have been having such a good time
CCP sounds like you had a great time
Mine for today:
1. had a lie in until 9.30
2. went to mat@lan and spent my £5 off birthday voucher they sent me
3. Found some new plates there too. Have been meaning to get some for ages as my dinner plates are all chipped where I lose my grip and drop them(...when putting in and out of dishwasher not when full of dinner
) I managed to get 6 matching white porcelain plates which are microwave and dishwasher proof and reduced to clear at 40p each
originally £1.50 each
4. Colonels fried chicken for lunch. Naughty but nice. DS is staying at friends house so I dont need to cook tonight
5. Also had a very naughty m@gnum ice cream but they were on offer at less than half price
