    Hi all

Mine go over a few days as I am just back from hospital after having an op on Monday

1 The results look to be good, I have to wait a few weeks for biopsy results but the surgeon says that he is not expecting bad news:D

2 The nursing staff in the High Dependancy Unit were absolutely wonderful:A They do the most difficult of jobs with unfailing good humour and concern. They make potentially embarassing situations matter of fact and take the frightening aspect away. They were such angels to me!!!:T:T:T

3 Seeing my family when I came round, I know mine was only a shortish operation but even still I was quite worried due to my breathing etc.

4 Coming home to my own bed!!!!!! Oh my goodness I didn't realise how comfortable my bed was. I have been on an airbed in hospital and found it very wierd!

5 The good wishes of friends and family - makes you feel very loved!

Hope everyone is feeling ok, will catch up properly when I am more alert. Have a good day all

  • Afternoon :p

    My five for today are...

    1) Reading all the posts from the last few days - is particularly grey here today and haven't been feeling brilliant these past few days so cheered me up :o

    2) Yellow stickered custard creams for pud later

    3) Started using my first meal plan this week and is going well so far! Thought I'd hate the lack of spontenaety but have been enjoying being more organised

    4) Meeting up with some friends I haven't seen for a while, nice to catch up

    5) Looking forward to charity shop rummaging at the weekend :j

Sparrer I am sad for you and your family re; Homer, it is so sad to lose a loyal friend, they ask so little but give so much. I always feel a bit weepy when I think our 2 girls will only be with us for a certain amount of years, particularly as one of them is over 16. I suppose this is the price we have to pay for having the gift of their unquestioning love and loyalty for the time they are with us. Sending you hugs.

Not too much has happened on the 'happy' front this week, particularly as I still have some sort of bug hanging around and it's beginning to get on my nerves....roll on summer

    However I have really enjoyed;-

    1) Having our DS1 and his partner round for a lovely meal and being able to spoil them a little.

    2) Feeling so proud of DS2 who is running a half marathon for Charity (Wish I had his energy:rolleyes:)

    3) Being able to donate some of the de-clutter items to new good homes.

    4) And I will enjoy having a few days away at the weekend with DH to relax and unwind -such a lovely treat

    5) DH has 5 days work this week (instead of 4) Yippee!

Hmm think I should revise my 'not too much on the happy front', now I've written it down it looks great!

Hugs to all those who need them, or are feeling poorly. Have a good day everyone.

  • 1) Received an interesting book from an MSE'r, only problem is I'm having problems putting it down.

    2) Finally received replacement themometer to replace broken one.

    3) DS popped in, it's always nice to see him.

    4) Hubby's got a job interview.

    5) Bought broccoli & a bag of potatoes to go with tomorrows tea for 19p for the 2 of them.

    Mine today:-

    1. Managing to coax yet more salad greens from my garden/cold frame.

    2. DH helping with household chores so that I could get on with the cooking. He's graduated to hanging up the wet washing now :rotfl:

    3. Putting basics diced pork and basics cider in slow cooker ready for the evening meal.

    4. Visiting and old lady we know who is not too well, think it cheered her up.

    5. Making carrot and coriander soup whilst cooking veggies to go with the delicious pork casserole. There's soup to freeze and half of the casserole to freeze, so they will be pleasures for another day.

    Bella.

  • Get better soon nic1lou2 (and a hug for Sparrer). Happy Birthday to JollyMummy! Get ready for the Roaring Forties!

    1) Actually got to work on time, due to getting up at an unearthly hour and an unexpected lack of traffic. Was first in the Wednesday meeting, which makes a change from sidling in apologetically later on.
    2) DS's lovely gf is sending Twilight book 4 home after DS has been there for tea. I have so much to read but I have to just finish this off before I can begin something else. I tried to get it from the library first and they have seven copies and fifty requests.
    3) A leftover jacket potato with a scrap of cheese grated over the top for lunch, and it was very nice too.
    4) Even more rubber chicken for tea - warmed in gravy with half a bag of new potatoes and a left over allotment parsnip in cream for the veg. Stewed fruit for pud - wrinkly apples and some vodka blackberries, with cream.
    5) My charity shop bargain Laura Ashley wool trousers have survived a cold wash. I was desperately hoping this would work as I don't take anything to the dry cleaners.
