My five for today
1. Lovely lie in and then tea and the papers in bed thanks to DD
2. Made brunch of savoury pancakes followed by a sweet one as a bit of mix left over.
3. Lovely sunny day so had the windows open for a while to let some fresh air in the house.
4. Not spending any money today
5. Lovely dinner of chilli chicken with fried rice and enough left for OH and my lunch tomorrow.
Sorry a sneaky 6th one - just found out my cousin is expecting her first child, they have been trying for about 2 years so very very pleased.
Take care everyone and hugs to all who need them0 -
Starting off with a bad one that has turned out to be not too bad.......felt very sick due to painkillers today, DD tucked me up in bed and looked after me for a bit, amazing girl, so I could be okay to take us out later.
The painkillers have meant I have to give up my strict diet yet again as I need more in my tummy to avoid sickness/liver problems. However, my pleasure is that I've managed to avoid over-eating today and have made good choices
DD and I went out to meet a lovely friend and we all strolled up to the healthy living fair. It was great, DD enjoyed herself at the children's crafts area and made some lovely presents for all of us, and my friend and I had great massages and chats with different therapists.
We left to come home reasonably late and I treated us to yummy M&$ food for dinner as I was too tired and chilled out to cook.
Friend and I are planning a girly weekend with DD to France at some point this year0 -
Hi everyone!
Funny old day.......started really well, then I have been on the verge of a migraine all day, so no Ebay boo hoo. Kept having to have a lie down every time i tried to use the computer!
5 for today
1. made banana bread in the breadmaker. (Finally dug it out of the pantry after 2 years, since the kitchen was modernised, thanks to reading all your posts!). Anyway, I thought it was a massive fail, but tried another slice with butter and it seems ok now it has cooled. :T
2. As it was a nice day we assembled new trampoline. (Royal we, as it was mostly DH as I wasn't feeling so good at this point!
3. DS2 playing on the trampoline with his friend. Very, very happy.:j:j
4. Watching 'Being Human'. Much darker than first series, but still funny.
5. Yes! Having the window open for the first time in months. Who would have thought it this time last week. :rotfl:
6. Making HM dog biscuits. At least someone is guarenteed to like my cooking!:rotfl:
Having an early night as It's back to the normal routine. Which means up at 5am to take DD to swimming:eek:.

Scotrae I hope your DM feels better really soon.

house elf Migraine is horrible my DH used to suffer from it alot, hope you're feeling ok now.
I think I can just about manage another 5 today.
1) Another morning cuppa in bed courtsey DH. That's been 3 days in a row I'm such a lucky girl.
2) The continuation of the great big de-clutter. It's really liberating, I'm beginning to look at things and think "Do I really need that?"
3) Finding a collection of DIY Books that DS1 has said he could use, so they're being recycled to a good home.
4) Making arrangements for DS1 and his partner to come over for tea on tuesday, so we'll have a good natter.
5) HM Veg Soup and crusty roll, followed by Beef Brisket Sprouts and Potatoes for dinner tonight....YummySealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Am having a bit of a tough time at the moment, hence not posting, but here's five for the last few days:
1. Carrying on with the big crochet circular thing. I pressed it for the first time yesterday to see what it looked like really flat and it looks super.
2. Putting in an extra big veggiebox order this week because if I do two larger orders (rather than more smaller ones) over the next month I can get a substantial discount, so a bit of re-jigging the shopping plan meant I could get the money off.
3. Being out and about in today's sunshine.
4. Speaking to my friend in the States on the phone.
5. Making the best ever HM cream of tomato soup which did two meals - huge vote of confidence from the children (and me).
Sleep well

Isn't it strange how, when all the fuss of Christmas and New Year has died, down it seems like there's nothing ahead? Well...
1. After Saturday night's surprise invitation to supper with friends I planned a Sunday lie-in. However the phone ran at 8.30am, it was the husband of my friend in Rhodes who has just arrived back in UK after Christmas with his family. He was travelling north to his UK home and job so decided to stop and collect one or two things he left here before going away. He had his laptop with him so I was able to see and speak with my friend, then we had a lovely lunch together before he went on his way. I wonder what the next nice surprise will be
2. The rapid boil kettle I bought to replace my broken one boils so quickly it barely gived me time to put the tea bag in the cup and get the milk from the fridge! Thanks Mr A, your £9 kettle is saving me lots of pennies in electric
3. As I couldn't get to see DM due to snow I planted the amaryllis I'd bought her as part of her Christmas present (always buy her one, a bit of a tradition now). It's growing beautifully and I was amazed to see it has 3 stems instead of the usual one! I'm taking it to her next weekend (weather permitting) hope none of the stems are blind, and all produce flowers
4. Discovering there's a Chinese warehouse not far from me where I don't have to buy in bulk. Looks like I may be making a trip in that direction very shortly
5. The sunshine! All the windows open for a while this morning, it was lovely to feel the fresh air blowing through :j. It was a bit chilly but that didn't matter, the change of air makes everything seem fresher and brighter. Long may it last!
Night night n God bless, hugs to everyone whether you need or just feel like one..

3. Have all the bits into make hm sausage roll type things, and want to freeze lots, son has started to ask for them in his pack lunch. Sort of sliced up very thinly in a sandwich with a bit of hm relish. Working out to be another cheap lunch.:money:Hope i have the energy later.

Hi everyone
Scotrae - hope your Mum is soon on the mend.
Didn't post yesterday as on a bit of a downer. I've got a very dodgy back and I've managed ok walking to school in the ice and snow the last 2 weeks. I was lifting in our Tesco delivery yesterday and my backs gone and it really hurts
It's my blardy 40th birthday on Thursday too, we haven't got big plans but I could do without the back pain. Ho hum .
Anyway here goes :
1. Lovely DH took DS to school this morning for me
2. Received a brand new slow cooker from a lovely Freecycler yesterday.
3. Enjoyed watching Larkrise and Wallander last night.
4. DH told me he's booked day after my birthday off so we could have a long weekend and a sneaky day somewhere while DS is at school - we never do this so I feel a bit guilty !!
5. Made lovely carrot cakes yesterday and DH made a great casserole in slow cooker.
6. My lovely DH and DS !!
