    Evening all,

    1. Feeling sleepy... I remember a line from the film Bruce Almighty,
...People underestimate the benefits of good old manual labour.

Some of the happiest people in the world,
go home smelling to high heaven at the end of the day...:o
I've worked hard today so an early night beckons.

    2. Getting lots of odd jobs done today.

    3. Celebrity big brother.

    4. Drinking some of my xmas drinkies. ;)

    5. Having half hour or so of brushing one of the cats. I think I found it as relaxing as she did.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

    1) snow melting, I agree with sparrer, enoughs enough
    2) still surprised and pleased how rubbing neat washing up liquid on your windows stops the condensation appearing (sad, I know)
    3) emerging from under the duvet and showering before noon, fingers crossed will be back to work on Monday
    4) looking forward to getting out to the library and Sainsbury's tomorrow...
    5) QI then watching QI on Dave...
    6) dd(5) dressing herself for school this morning with a only little help with her tights

    [On the Titanic]
Phil Jupitus: Is it true that someone dressed as a lady to escape detection?
Stephen Fry: Yes, apparently it is true, because it was women and children first.
Bill Bailey: [chuckling] I thought you said "someone dressed as a baby".
Phil Jupitus: [posh accent] "Yes, goo-goo indeed. I have a lollipop and I have no control over my urinary functions. I am, in fact, an infant. And I know you think I'm Lord Albemarle, but I am in fact a little baby. With a beard. Yes, goo-goo, gaa-gaa. And madam, may I tell you I've been a very naughty baby?"

  • Ollie you are missed - where are you?

    1. Making nice bread and scones.

    2. Cream of cabbage soup with the addition of some 'lurking' veg from the freezer as there was not quite enough cabbage.

    3. Seeing the snow begin to disappear.

    4. Being able to give a lift to the hospital to a friend, yet another benefit of DH's retirement, as I don't drive.

    5. Two more cards made, should have a decent consignment for sale by Monday.

    Bella.

Hello All - Ollie included (wavey smillie?)

Going into town for a coffee to catch up with a couple of mums from school- the first time I'd made this monthly meet in 15 months. I'd got the time wrong but had a nice half hour, relaxed and chatting.

Having a mooch around Lakeland alone and finding a much-needed sieve marked down from almost £7 to only £1.99.

Seeing a robin perched on the park gate, oblivious to the stress of drivers in the traffic jams all around.

Going to the dentist and having 3 fillings for the price of one. (It turned out that a whole piece of molar had come out yesterday - good timing I suppose and lucky I couldn't get to my appointment in last week's snow.)

Having a large glass of wine, a good old sob and a half-hour nap when DH got home to relieve the disappointment of not having got the job I interviewed for yesterday. (A nice but generic email from the admin lady told me so, rather than a personal call - which I felt sadly let down about as there were only 4 interviewed by a panel of 3 and they'd said they would phone.) Feeling better now and I have some more application forms lined up - next to be in this Sunday.

    Have a good weekend all.

    5 for today:

    1) The boys were at school! 2nd day this year... much crying from DS2 when he got there and he had to be peeled from my leg by a TA and "helped" into the classroom while I did a runner (sounds mean but its the only thing that works).

    2) Cleaned. And cleaned. Its my first boy free/work free day since 17th December :-O So I changed all the beds, did FOUR loads of washing (did rugs, sofa throw etc) hoovered, dusted, emptied stove and bins. In fact everything except the bathroom and I'll do that tomorrow.

    3) Felt even better today, still got a bit of the awful sore throat though.

    4) Enjoyed playing Scalextric, then Wii then Playdoh when the boys got back.

    5) Made a chicken curry, naans and rice to tea that they liked.

    That's about it!

    Hi Everyone,

    5 for today

    1. Only 12 pupils turned up today! Combined classes and got some admin time to print off all the work I had been doing at home! My boss is wonderful. :A

    2. Made chilli chicken burritos from cooked chicken and a kit. I know its not OS, but its nearly propper cooking and I had been out all day;)

    3. Took DD to Matalan to rummage in the £2 sale. She found a pair of shorts for £2 and a pair of trousers for £1. Thats my girl :D:D

    4. Watching Mr Benn on DVD. DH bought it to remind us of our our youth! DS2 seems to be enjoying it too!

    5. Friday !:j

    The weekend starts here!

    Night x
  • Hi Acey keep up the good work with the boys, you are doing a grand job. I don't have time for a long post, but really admire you:A. Love BTxx
  • Hello everyone (where are you Ollie, we miss you?!). Here's mine for today

1.A good old tramp through the woods with friend and doggies.

2.Pork chop and veggies for tea, good wholesome food at a much cheaper price since I've discovered Lidl and Aldi!

3.A cup of tea and chat with my mum.

4.A lovely person found my daughter's lost ipod and left a message on her facebook page to let her know....it restores your faith in human nature doesn't it.

5.Hot bubbly bath after getting back cold and wet from our walk (oh, and followed by cuppa and slice of h/m banana cake).

That's all folks, just off now to catch up with what happened on cbb and find out who got evicted!

    Ali xx
    £2 savers club no.107 :j £36 so far.

1, Hearing from bunny too (thanx bt :D) that Ollie is well, but annoying for her that she can't get connected. Everything x'd that you'll be back on line before long :), we miss you
2Taking DGD2 to the orthodontist this morning was a pleasure! When I was young I was terrified - not least because my dentist was a Mr Puller  - today being told she's to have a fixed brace for 2 years didn't faze her one bit, in fact she's quite happy with the idea. Thank goodness today's dental workers are more human and understanding
    3. Winning another £5 on bingobritain and being invited to play with another site which will give me a £20 free return. Fortunately I've never been tempted to gamble with my own money, having watched a relative do so for years and ruin a relationship. As soon as I have the £ in my bank I stop :D
    4. Going into £stretcher after the orthodontist and finding 48 loo rolls for £5 - bought 2 lots - and Typh00 teabags 300 for £2.49 - bought 3 boxes, which is 1800 cuppas :rotfl:...I'm supposed to be clearing out the kitchen ready for a refit so it's all stored under the bed in the small bedroom
    5. In the same shop finding 100 chewies, which the furpet loves, for 99p, and lots of stocking fillers. Total spend was under £16 and the very kind assistant helped me carry it all to the car.

That's all folks! Time I was in the land of nod so night night and stay safe everyone
