I don't know why the turkey was so expensive Ollie, I do know that each supermarket has different prices for different areas but that was one heck of a difference!
Bella I feel the same sometimes, difficult to know what to write when I don't go out for 3/4 days at a time, but to hear your life doesn't have any major calamities and to know how your crafting is getting on is always a pleasure to read about

I've loved reading about all of you with little ones and how you've had fun in the enforced 'holidays'...I so enjoyed my children being at home that I was the one crying when they went back to school :o. Never did understand why people had children then couldn't wait for them to walk, go to nursery, start 'big' school, leave home! I was no saint, nor were they :rotfl: and I felt I was going mad at times with no adult conversation but really miss them now. Thankfully I have the GC to spoil these days ;)

    My 5

    1. The snow has almost gone, just a bit of slush around now so I went out for the first time in a week...it was wonderful! All the main roads are clear now and as usual the car started first time
    2. I went to have coffee with DD where her lovely parrot wouldn't let me stop stroking him, he 'purrs' when his head is tickled . Also got nipped and pounced on by her two latest pups...they're adorable, at the stage where they look like furry toys atm. I don't know how she can sell them, I'd want to keep them for myself, but I suppose 7 dogs would be just a bit too much
    3. Called in to the local charity shop and picked up 5 Christmas/birthday presents for £7.94, all things that other people had been given and didn't want. I know just who to give them to :D
    4. Popped in to Mr M on my way home, found loads of baps and wholemeal rolls at 19p for 4..I .just baked a loaf for the freezer last night so I didn't really need them, but how to resist?
    5. I did laugh at jollymummy's DS waking her, bless him. I was woken from my siesta by a prrrp in my ear and a paw batting my cheek, a lovely gentle way to be woken, but the crafty puss had an ulterior motive. She was telling me I should be getting her dinner :D
Night night all, hugs and sweet dreams

Just like you i love reading about everyones wee ones and tail wagers etc.

Will pop in later to post my pleasures.:j

I know how a lot of you posters feel. I often feel I dont have anything to report or anything at all interesting to say but remember no matter how repetitive it seems, there will be someone out there who finds it interesting or useful, or who will amaze you by missing you when you dont post and it also can just be a useful exercise just listing in itself.

    Sunday

    1. Mugs of hot steaming tea and the Sunday papers
    2. The Mouse That Roared
    3. making HM soup with the lo veggies from last weeks soup
    4. Hot chocolate and rereading "Chocolat"
    5. my mini hot water bottle got in M&S xmas sale for £2.50 in a pack with some slipper sock thingies

    Monday

    1. Being all warm inside
    2. going for a walk later and seeing that a lot of the snow has gone from the pavements
    3. HM soup for lunch
    4. Casino Royale on dvd
    5. an unwanted OPI nail varnish from an MSEr in a colour I have been desperate to get hold of for ages
    6. reading my books and an Easy Living magazine article on simple pleasures wrapped up warm with pashmina, Blanket, hot water bottle and hot drinks

Afternoon everybody  - hoping that by now we're all seeing the thaw setting in and everywhere beginning to clear at least a little bit.

newlywed - lol at the magpies/seagull - not many birds get to pinch things off seagulls :rotfl: - but we once watched a group of magpies attacking a sparrowhawk - they seem to be capable of 'conspiracy' as a group.
redsquirrel - liking the sound of your Pinto Bean Cassoulet - I'm not into smokey/spicey sausage, BUT think I could adapt it a little for my SC - got lots of dried beans in the cupboard to be used up :T. wd on getting ahead with some herbs/salad stuff.
budgeteer - welcome to the thread  - good to meet you.
Kittikins - how kind of your neighbours to take your DD to school for you - my DD and her friends always used to share school journey duties before she moved house - where she lives now, she doesn't know anybody well enough to do it yet :(.
tudorfan22 - congrats on getting a bargain deal for your carpet :T.
elizabunny - sorry to hear you've had a fall in the snow - fingers crossed that I've survived so far this year - though I've hardly ventured out of doors during the worst of it.
house elf - 'Lakeland Plastics' here too - by the way, we've now got one of their shops in Liverpool (in the new Liverpool One centre) :j. What a shame about your evening at the cinema - hope you can still use the tickets another time.
sallypurple - wd on the Hot-X-Bun loaf - sounds delish .
nuttybabe - wtg on the new lippy colour :T - plus the fact that by mixing two together, you finish up with twice as much :j. Great that you got your drains sorted :T.
Caterina - sorry to hear it could be your hormones giving trouble - mine were absolutely crazy for years. Got to the stage where my OH and kids would discuss my moods and warn each other to keep out of my way and not to let me near anything sharp . Far better since 'everything stopped altogether' about 8yrs ago ;) - but from about 38-50 I could 'kill with an angry look'.
fayhare - welcome to the thread :). Good Luck with the Housing Benefit - great to get that sorted out. Make sure that you keep on at them though until you actually get the letter with a date/amount on it.
FunkyFairy - wd on your HokeyPokey - it looks just like the 'Cinder Toffee' that my mum used to make for Bonfire Night when we were kids. Will have a go at that .
nuttyrockeress - wd you on making such good use of an extra day off work - you were really busy with all that baking :T.
bella - your posts are wonderful - love hearing what you and your OH are doing. Looking forward to my own retirement and having time to spend 'doing what I want and REAL bargain hunting' - always feel as though my life is spent rushing everywhere :(.
Ladyhawk - hope your date goes well  - essential details required ;).
thriftykitty - wtg on Rubber Turkey ;).
savingforoz - great to know that your purry-foster-babies are doing well . I'm another who loves her PressureCooker :).
Kitchenbunny - you managed an entire hour in the town centre WITHOUT spending any money - you're better than I am ;).
GirlySquare - to you - sorry to hear you needed 'a sickie' - hope you're feeling better today :).
nic1lou2 - wd on keeping up with your knitting lessons :T and on making the most of l/o Shepherd's Pie - waste not, want not :j.
Tealady - how lovely of Mrs.Boss to make a bracelet for your DD - great to get back to our 'normal routines', isn't it :).
mineallmine - wd to your council on getting on with the gritting - ours have run out of the darn stuff :( - no side roads done at all here - only the road surfaces of main roads, access to hospitals, clinics, council offices and pedestrian shopping centre. Luckily it's all beginning to melt away now :j.
BitsyBeans - I'm another who loves reading about people's posts where little ones are concerned :) - can just see yours sitting with breakfast/yogurt round her face - my dgd2 (Katie 2) and dgs3 (Billy-blue-eyes 16mths) both do that :rotfl:. Hope you enjoy your book - it sounds interesting :).
scotrae - wd on your whoopsied bread/jaffa cakes :T - I'm sure the birds will continue to visit your garden after the bad weather especially if you continue to put treats out for them - they reward us well with their visits when we feed them :).
ACEY - omg - does that man NEVER learn what he's NOT supposed to do  (possible double-negative there, but you know what I mean) - he's certainly his own worst enemy :naughty:. Hope things improve soon for your Mum & Dad and that your boys got back to school today.
jollymummy - how lovely that your mum was available for child-minding duties for you - it's a hard decision when they're so small and you really need to get out and earn some money. Hope things work out for you. When my niece was very young, my sister started helping in the school by listening to kids read and then was taken on as a non-teaching assistant. Then she trained as a Teaching Assistant (fitted in ideally with school hours/term times) and still works there now specialising in children with extra support needs/learning difficulties.
Broomstick - wd to Tescos for sorting out the points to your card :) and great going with your crochet :j.
sparrer - I wonder if the price discrepancies are to do with living costs in the Home Counties being more expensive than in the North - it's not very fair if that's the reason. I'm a sucker for puppies/kittens too - don't know how people can bear to part with them at all when they've had them around for 8wks or so :(. wd on your charity shop finds - I got a lovely big bottle of 4711 (unopened) for 50p :j. Also got one a few months ago - obviously somebody's gets bought it but doesn't really like it - shame ;).
bunny too - I'm sure you'll soon find lots of things to fill your day with, bunny. Adult education, volunteering, crafts (card making perhaps), catching up with books that you've always wanted to read, any grandchildren that need 'borrowing' - I just can't wait for retirement and a free bus pass :j.
Reverbe - I love hearing about those freebie events that you manage to get to - suppose that comes from you living in an Urban Area. We're out in the suburbs of Liverpool and nothing exciting seems to happen around here :(. Good to see you're well-wrapped up in blankets and cuddling a hottie while you get on with reading good books/watching movies .
viv - some of the freebies that we get offered are really good quality :).

I've not got time to post any pleasures at the moment - but will pop in again later this evening - keep warm and well everybody - take care - love Ollie xxx

    Evening all

Ollie - you really cheer me up reading your posts. They are so special for everyone!!

    Anyway mine for today:

1 Popping onto flylady and getting my kitchen and dinning room cleaned!

2 i have nails!!!!!!!!! i am a nightmare for biting my nails but since doing all the craft stuff i have stopped without realising. I even had to file them today, not done that for years!! :)

3 Made shepherds pie for tea out of the freezer and it was lovely and didnt take me long to prepare.

4 Kids tidied up the living room after being asked just the once!

5 Must have spent at least an hour looking through patterns for my next crochet animal. Decided on a panda.

    thats it for now.
  • It was hard finding them today - I hate having to make decisions and the wesather was so ambiguous today I was worried about sending the girls in to school but not sure if i should keep them home. I hate driving in the bad weather and then get upset if my issues affect the girls.:o:o:oI'm so stupid sometimes!!

!) It snowing at lunchtime so I was ok to have kept them home
    2) Snuggling on the sofa with all three girls and tiny puppy!
    3) Hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows
    4) Phone call from my Dad
    5) Coming on here thinking I would have nothing to post and Ollie making me feel all warm and smiley :A

Seconded! Any others voting on the referendum to give Ollie a promotion? Was the first one to welcome me here . . . .

    5 for today:
    1. Finding (although not lost, really) a 'momentos' box while trying to declutter in the bedroom
    2. Having a coffee at break time and looking out the window at the GRASS (thars green in them thar hills!) :j
    3. A decent nights sleep last night, a rarity as of late
    4. 2 dozen FR egg freebie from the ILs. Could there be a baking weekend in store??
    5. Listening to dozens of 60s & 70's 'hits' while cleaning and ironing today. Made the jobs sooo much easier
Hope you're all well and having a lovely, peaceful evening!

Thanks guys for your encouragement. Here goes with today's pleasures.

    1. The therapy of keeping up with this thread.

    2. Deciding to take the car to the shops instead of walking, not our usual practice but the footpaths were treacherous.

    3. Only made a few small purchases mostly in £land. How I love that shop.

    4. More cardmaking this afternoon gave me the impetus to:-

    5. Make lamb rissoles for tea and make raspberry jam in the microwave at the same time.

    Bella.
