Evening, everyone. I don't have many pleasures today, but here goes:
1) Roast beef dinner last night, always good.
2) Being given a lift home by DH.
3) Spending an hour in town waiting for DH and not spending a thing.

2) Spending 15 minutes chatting in bed with my dd before she went off to school
3) Eating a slice of dp's freshly made fruit cake still warm from the oven
4) Having a long soak in the bath
5) Watching QI on Sky+ recorded from Saturday

FWIW I feel the same about my postshence the reason why I don't think I do it every day.
Mine are:
Watching DD smear breakfast this morning and yoghurt at lunchtime all round her chops and smacking her lips in satisfaction :rotfl:
Birds have finally discovered the fresh water and food I've been putting out for them over the last couple of days. A fat little robin was have a whale of a time in the bird bath.
Tea was delicious, really enjoyed it and it was simple but tasty (sausage, tom sauce, onions and pasta).
My book The Self Sufficient-ish Bible arrived this afternoon so looking forward to having a good read of that
Giving a few of the kids at DS's nursery a ride on our sledge whilst we waited for them to go into school.

Mine for today:
1. 'Back to normal'. My boys were at school, DH was at work and I could get back to Flylady ways. The lounge and stairs were looking gratifyingly clean and clear - until they all got home again.
2. Noticing that the 'reduced for quick sale' section of the fridge at our convenience store looked full when I drove to school, so calling in there on the way home. Although I didn't fancy much of the chilled stuff, I noticed buckets of mini jaffa cakes for 31p (RRP over £2.50) - best before March 10th! I bought five buckets and promised DH's work colleague I'd send him a treat tomorrow! I also got farmhouse batch loaves @ 35p and packs of 2 panini @ 17p ... very pleased with myself!
3. Seeing our garden birds back again. Those long-tailed tits really are funny little things. I feel I'm getting to know them and shall miss them if they disappear with the ice and snow.
4. Cooking the pre-prepared meatballs for tea. Easy tea for me!
5. Giving DH my last Rolo - well, technically my son's last Rolo because he doesn't like them. Hopefully the selection packs will soon be finished.
Sleep well all.

Not a bad day today. 4 inches MORE snow overnight so I didn't risk driving to school (a big hill then single track lanes). It was open though, for the first time this year! My parents and I received annoying phone calls from my ex, just slightly too early this morning :-(
5 for today:
1) Another day off school! We went sledging (on a tea tray) and made a snow baby seal. Must take a photo of it tomorrow.
2) My solicitor is working hard (hasn't been able to get in the office for days!) and phoned me 3 times today to check things and make sure everything is to my liking.
3) Mum and dad's snow problems continue (they have no power now!) so Tesco dropped their stuff off at my house.
4) Boys got on together quite well.
5) Nice tea - fishcakes, cheaty potato wedges, peas for boys and leek for me.
6) Just had a pleasant evening sitting in front of the stove watching rubbish television drinking damson gin!
7) Quite looking forward to school tomorrow (if they snow holds off). Boys first day at school since December 17th and I help out there on Tuesdays so it will be my first day back too!

Evening all
Hope we're all safe and warm.
mine for today are :-
1. unexpected snow day for DS. I was very worried as my lovely Mum has come over to hold the fort as I have a few days exam invigilation work. However, I was so worried DS might get sent home from school as she wouldn't be able to collect him as she can't walk in the bad snow - stress city. So was very relieved, however, it tipped it down with snow, so I couldn't go anyway as couldn't get car out and no buses !!! work weren't too happy but as DH said a car accident and injuries are not worth 2 hours work - bless him
2. My neighbour phoned and said she'd always collect DS for me if we were stuck as her DS is in same classI hate that DS is at full time school sometimes, he's only 4 for goodness sake !!!
3. Made carrot and coriander soup - yum !!
4. Did my chores and had a sneaky 20 minute power nap until DS came and lay on top of me and shouted ARE YOU ASLEEP MUMMY ???
5. Stashed some bargains from Lakeland online shop in my wardrobe for Mothers Day gifts both our Mums sorted for an amazing 3.50 each !!! also got a few small birthday pressies in M & S online sale for DS - yay !!!
6. We are in financial dire straits, so feel quite good about taking control and NOT spending money - if you see what I mean. I really must find a proper part time job this year, that fits into school hours, is in the middle of nowhere where I live and pays lots - tee hee:hello:

Hiya - have been feeling increasingly ropey through today but am determined to find five pleasures:
1. Getting a letter from Tescos to say that they have credited the points from my unused and out-of-date Deals vouchers (that I couldn't use) back onto my card, so basically, I can rebook the same Deals later in the year.
2. Another good session on poetry analysis and enjoyable discussion with DS1.
3. Adding to an ongoing crochet project where I have made a circle (really a spiral) where I am just adding in, in single crochet with a smallish hook, little scraps of left-over wool that I've got in the house so it's multi-coloured and multi-thickness and is looking very beautiful. It's now 9.5 inches in diameter and I have no idea when it will be finished because I could stop it at any time. Will it be a table mat or a bedspread - who knows?!
4. Getting to Mr S for the weekly shop based on the budget and meal-plans and remembering to buy a new jar of hot chocolate as wellI have my priorities right.
5. Listening to all sorts of interesting radio and playback including this week's Radio 4 'Something Understood' on Wild Swimming which was a gorgeous programme and triggered lots of memories for me.
Finding five was easier than I thought.
Sweet dreams everyone
