Evening all.
Frith - I really hope something gets sorted out for your SDS (smaller dear son - is that a sensible abbreviation?) - I keep reading your posts and wondering what on earth the school thinks it's playing at.
DundeeDoll - sadly the BBQ was a no-go - shortly after I posted, the weather made its mind up to pour with rain, and has done so pretty much continuously ever since.
I was feeling quite chirpy until a few minutes ago, when I went to register for my next (and final :j) OU course, and found that I couldn't, despite being assured it was all fine, and that no-one's answering the phone to explain what's gone wrong. It gives me something to do tomorrow while sitting around waiting for the gas meter people to arrive, though. (It's one of these "you need to be there when we arrive, which will be sometime between 8am and 8pm" arrangements - more .)
1) A nice long lie-in this morning, listening to the rain beating on the windows, which isn't unpleasant when you know you don't have to get up and go out in it.
2) Dashed between the rain drops into the city centre to collect my handbag which was in for a repair on a broken strap, for which they only charged £4.
3) Curled up this afternoon watching snooker and making a start on my next course set book.
4) A possible pleasure - made up a batch of focaccia dough from a 30p pack of mix from AF. It's only a 'possible' as I've just peeked into the BM and the dough hasn't risen at all, so it might be flatbread instead of focaccia.
5) A nice, warming chicken casserole for dinner (well, it will be when I go and get cooking in a minute).
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

Thanks for that DundeeDoll will try it tonight as I am back at work tomorrow and am beginning to stress about it already2.A big improvement in him. Don't think he feels it as he feels crappy but I saw such a difference today....all these positive thoughts are obviously working.

Hello! Tuesday morning here already ....thinking about getting up to start the day!
For Monday:
1.Back to work, went in early to catch up on stuff I'd missed last week & generally to be organised. It felt good being normal & having routine.
2.Sharing texts with my husband.
3.Kind friends taking me & returning me home from hospital. I really do appreciate this.
4.Seeing my husband much better day to day, more tubes & drains out today and doctors happy with his progress.
5,Nabbing the other basket of flowers! They are pretty in my bedroom.
6.Home to the tastiest lasagne & garlic bread, mmmmm!
7.Home to 3 lovely children who so far so good are coping with everything .
8.Falling into bed! Had a better sleep which can only make a difference.
9.My neck clicking back into place! I've had a stiff neck since crash & I am so full of tension that I wasn't sure what was pain what was stress & last few days I've been saying I just need my neck to click! And it did at work & it feels so much better....a pleasure indeed!
10.Dodging the heavy rainshowers....good for the garden.
11.Receiving kind messages of support & prayer from our church back home. It really makes such a difference knowing that even though we are so far away from home we have the support & love from so many people.....international love!
Right had better get up!0 -
Evening all, just about recovered from my feastathon. Saturday's company and meals were superb, and Sunday's were equally as good. They left me feeling quite heavy and uncomfortable though, so it was nice to get back to a normal menu today
1. Locked myself out of the car at the garden centre on Saturday, and a very kind man ran me the 3 miles home. I'd phoned ahead and my neighbour was waiting with my spare door key, got the spare car key and the vkm ran me back and refused to take anything for it. People are so kind(Had the car 10 years and lock myself out approx once a year
)
2. Bought both birthday girls, who coincidentally have new gardens, a beautiful hydrangea each, which were buy one get one half price.
3. Did a small shop in Mr A on Saturday, panini's were 12p for a pack of 3 so I bought 6 packs - will have one every couple of days or so as a treat. Also got a pack of smoked salmon pieces for 15p, half of which made a tasty omelette for dinner today.
4. Had game pie for lunch on Sunday, it was delicious but seemed a bit odd to have it with chunky chips. Game chips I could understand, but... They got eaten anyway though
5. This morning's exercise class was good as usual, afterwards there was talk by a physio on energy conservation. I thought if I learned anything new - unlikely having been subscribed to MSE for however many years - I'd be able to pass on some tips. However it was about saving personal energy of course
Too tired to post over weekend but have been reading all the posts. Pleased to hear Mr Hagster is improving slowly, still keeping you all in my prayers.
Hope everyone else is getting well or staying well. Sleep tight0 -
Evening all.
Pleasures are
1. Cirque Du Soleil was fantasticmy H posted a YouTube link on my FB wall so I got to watch some of it all again
2. Had a lovely text from a friend last night.
3. Yummy tea, which combined with being thrifty and making use of something that would have ended up being thrown as it wouldn't have been edible.
4. Productive day for once
5. Watched a cheesy film this afternoon whilst I did some ironing.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -

2) cleaner so impressed at being able to see my desk (it's been a while!) she gave it a special polish :A
3) made sandwiches for tea to take into OH's work on way to pub for world book day where friend was handing out copies of The Room. I've already read it but unexpectedly met an ex neighbour's daughter, now all grown up. Lovely to see her, and she hadn't read the book so i passed it on to her
