Will post early! Have been up since early o'clock but made myself stay in bed until 6am, then got up!

1.ironing all done & another washing waiting to go out. But as we had a very noisy storm at 4.30am it's all rather damp so will get a child to put it out later.
2.Have made a huuuuge pot of bolognese sauce. Then made a lasagne for tomorrow's dinner. I have a dinner guest tonight, so table is all set & food will just need finishing off. Husband's UK colleague will bring me home & stay for dinner. Have made an apple & blackberry crumble.
3.We received 2 huge floral displays at hospital yesterday from his company. Both Oz branch & UK one. They are lovely , not sure if he appreciates them as much as me so might nab one tomorrow!!
4.I went to bed early last night as kids were heading upstairs (we have a huge top landing, the estate agents call a 'kids retreat' so there's a sofa & tv/video/dvd) to have a Harry Potter fest. Not that I would ever have wished this to happen to us ...or to anyone...but I'm so glad my children are older! No idea how I would manage with 3 young kids.
5.Loving the autumnal colours, they do a sore heart a power of good!

Not bad for 8am! Will need to head of soon on my walk, train, walk (uphill!), visit, walk (downhill) extra walk (flat!) to hotel then a relax in a car!! I need to try & remember to look after myself as well as everyone else. Have not been eating well but there are enough fat reserves to keep me going a while! I will eat tonight though as we have company. I quite enjoy my train journey, it's 'me' time ...about the only time I'm getting right now, so I make the most of it.

    5. Went to an 18th birthday party and it was a very elaborate affair but caught up with friends and had a great time.

    ooh some more pleasures:
1.My lovely husband gave me flowers.....his! But they are so gorgeous....could only manage 1 and will half inch the other one tomorrow!
2.A big improvement in him. Don't think he feels it as he feels crappy but I saw such a difference today....all these positive thoughts are obviously working. Up for a wee walk before I left and a few tubes out today & more to come out tomorrow.
3.Got a run home, but friend didn't stay for dinner as he had work to do...so we had an early tea. He'll pick me up tomorrow after my work to go visiting!
4.Enjoyed my train & walk.....had comfy trainers on today..yesterday had totally worn the wrong shoes!
5.We can now communicate by text & email. a.he wasn't fit to and b.his bag was missing now found!

I feel so much lighter of heart, I know we still have along road ahead but feel we are past the critical stage...onwards & upwards!

    Have a lovely Sunday x

Mhags excellent news on your H, hope he continues to recover well xxx

    My pleasures
    1. Some lovely flowers bought for me by my neighbour, I took her cat to the vets for her as she couldn't get time off work to get him checked over (he'd been fighting and had been bitten).
    2. Took children to a birthday party at a friends house. They had a chocolate fountain running <drools> it was lush :D
    3. Had a good natter with friends at said party.
    4. Went out for a night of dancing with one of my friends. My knees are complaining this morning but had a fab time :D
    5. Very :money: night out cost me less than a tenner as I drove, we didn't have anything but soft drinks and free entry into pub :D

    6. Anticipated pleasure tonight. H was bought tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil tonight for his birthday. Can't wait :D

    Enjoy your Sunday everyone :)

    Good evening all !

5.Enjoyed watching Merigo win the Scottish National (without carnage) on Ch 4 - nothing like a chestnut horse with a big white blaze , my fave :).

Chickenopolis, thank you for sharing that, it was a lovely moment for me as well. I love racing. What a smashing horse Merigo is. I love National Hunt most (the people are a lot nicer) and last week was horrible, the sport really didn't need it. What was also great yesterday was to see King Fontaine do so well, (3rd at long odds) whose jockey was on the late and lovely According To Pete at Aintree.

Mhags, thank you for finding the time to share with us, enjoy your flowers and many positive vibes.

PK, thinking of you too - and to all of you who find time to share, thanks.

Okay mine, and they include the racing. I also have a coming highlight when my FB friend Heather's horse Angrove Rumbaba, one of only three 'painted' racehorses in the UK runs tomorrow at Hexham in his first race. He is an absolute stunner...

    1) Still in bliss with the furry Crocs keeping my feet so snug in this horrible cold wet weather. I wish I had found these years ago, though I think they've only been made in the last few years.

    2) Finding the wonderful Shirley Goode's blog . Shirley's books have been money-saving bibles for me and many of her recipes are family favourites, along with Jocasta Innes'. Great to see her so strong in her 80th year - what an inspiration.

    3) Using up lovely pampering toiletries. I do this continually, but it's a real highlight of each day to spoil myself with the nice things that I have - especially if I have saved some money in the process or got some freebies.

    4) Getting two lovely things through from Amazon Vine (freebies to review, duly done) - ok not very OS - but a super-duper cordless mouse and a stout and sturdy garlic press that will last a lifetime hopefully.

    5) A tidy-ish house thanks to my lovely cleaner's ministrations, I've done my best to keep it like this, but I'm naturally a messy, chiefly because I've just too much stuff - though I intend to recycle massive amounts of work related stuff that is no longer needed.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    Good afternoon all!

mculloch- I rode on the flat as an apprentice a few times , but worked in mixed yards so went to many NH races - but I can't say if the people were any friendlier in NH tbh. The According to Pete story broke my heart . Wow "Rummy" seems a looker I hope to see him around :D

    Frith -
Sounds as if you and your OH are back on track :)

    mhagster
    - glad to here that your DH is on the mend x

    5 for today

    1. Another long lie in - OH let the hens out and I slept until 9.30 am

    2. Went out to a local garden centre with my my Mum and OH and he bought a hoe ... makes me laugh saying the word"hoe". Infantile :D

    3. Watching OH hoeing with seven little feathered almost decapitated hens. He had to stop for Health ad Safety reasons (their health and safety) .

4.Making a toad in the hole a la Nigella . I have divided it to three as I will have quorn sausages and my Mum can a have a separate one too. The recipe uses 4 eggs -thank goodness I have a glut of these.

    5. Watching the old "Belles of St. Trinians " which still cracks me up as it is so stupid !

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
