Frith I don't have any advice, men a such queer creatures at time. However you don't deserve to be treated this way
hope he comes to his senses and stops being a berk  have a hug.
To tired for pleasures today, up half the night with DS who had bad earache.
Hugs for those that need them today xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
aawh! frith sending you a hug! Who knows how men's minds work, totally differently from women's that's for sure!
Didn't sleep at all well but was able to phone UK people at an appropriate time! OH is doing as well as can be expected for such major surgery. A little bit heartbroken (again) when I first saw him but got over that & just sat by his bedside for 3 hours , ever so quietly, reading a book I nabbed from the hotel library when I went for breakfast yesterday (will return once read!)
DD2 continues to have a hard time at school & phoned me whilst I was on the train to city ,in an absolutely terrible state! Feeling rather torn at the moment.....can only stretch myself so far! Have emailed school yesterday & await reply!
So pleasures:
1.Made kids porridge & nice lunches (I'm usually out before they are up, OH is there for them)...was there to plait DD1's hair!
2.Popped into work for 20 minutes...left 1 hour later....however, was told it all falls to pieces when I'm not there.....and I think it probably does!
3.Train journey to & from city.
4.Having a hug from DD2 & a chat about all the stuff going on in her life, wee soul is just so sad
5.Nice chat with my sister in law.
6.Cream eggs with 75% off! Yummy!
7.Hearing autumn leaves falling off trees and crunching my way through them to & from station.....need to have a big sweep of our paths this weekend.0 -
Firth I am so sorry, I'm useless at relationship advice as I wouldn't want to write anything that may not be what you want to hear. But we are on here to listen so hope that at least helps. (Glass of drinkie icon here

Mhagster I prayer your DH will make a good and speedy recovery.
my 5
1. Lovely day here, a bit dull a bit of wind a bit of rain a bit of sunshine. A proper springday.
2. Listening to the radio about the times Shakespeare lived in.
3.delicious lunch with all the family
4. 2 eggs today
5 looking forward to planting some seeds later.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and look after yourselves. xx0 -
Evening all.
Frith - I've got no useful advice to offer, but - just remember that you and your boys deserve the very best of everything and everyone.Purple_kitten wrote: »4. Made my first ever burgers from scratch, with 10p mince, HG chives and an Egg, practicing for BBQ food, they were ok but a bit bland, I'm not really a burger fan:o
More salt and pepper is probably what you need. Mince always seems to need more seasoning than other meat, for some reason. Have a lovely time in your caravan.
mhags - I hope you and DH are doing OK. I hope the school manages to sort something out for your poor DD - I've been through that myself and it's utterly miserable.
Mine for yesterday:
1) Copied in on an email from a colleague who had been disagreeing with me over a particular issue for some time. Someone else has now got involved, also disagreeing with me, and my colleague has now decided he agrees with me after all and has ridden into battle. I rather get the feeling he just enjoys argument for argument's sake, and would start a debate if I told him the sky was blue! :rotfl: (He'd be right at the moment, of course - the sky's actually a mucky grey with lots of water coming out of it - but you know what I mean!)
2) I've been so efficient at finishing off work before a week off next week that I had practically nothing to do from 3pm onwards.
3) Unpacked my mini greenhouse, which finally arrived after so long I thought it wasn't coming, and, although the box is a bit tatty after its long, slow journey, the greenhouse looks to be fine and ready to be put up over the weekend.
4) Managed to dodge the rain for long enough to walk to the pub quiz. There was that strange light you get sometimes when it's been raining hard, when every colour seems to glow. Beautiful!
5) A good evening at the quiz - we won a bottle of wine (which I now have ) and £17 second prize.
And for today:
1) Another very quiet day at work.
2) Found some intriguing-looking lamb and feta kebabs RTC in the supermarket, which will make a nice treat dinner later in the week.
3) Found that I've still got some cabbage and broccoli seeds left, so I can plant some more over the weekend to replace the first batch of which every single seedling has died.
4) I've got the BM going for an experimental onion, tomato and cheese loaf, taking advantage of onion crispies and tomato puree which I got for silly money from AF.
5) Indian fakeaway tonight - SO prawns in SO korma sauce, with SO lemon rice and RTC veg pakoras. :money:
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
mhagster- ((hugs)) to you all and bless your DD2 - tough stuff x
Skint - sorry to hear about how work is goingbut I will nick your pleasures
Frith - I hope you and your OH have sorted it out x
PK - Yay ! the Caravan of Love gets another outing- have a fab time at least you will have a tidy house when you get back !
5 for today
1.......Day off work !:)
2. Got a very early g.p appointment - so I went ultra early to avoid the school run traffic , parked up and read my book and day dreamed - because I could
3. All went well at g.p's my wrist xray is clear. I had never seen this g.p before and he asked if I had something wrong with my leg , cos I have foot drop and a limp . I explained it was due to post op neurosurgery and he was shocked - as "people like me " don't usually walk . Was on the tip of my tongue to say " I didn't walk I drove here actually";)
4.Banked some change and added another £10 to my DB's 50th birthday fund .
5.Had a long chat with my sister in law and we may go for an '80's theme for my DB's party next year . We now need to start putting the idea in to reality .
6. Washing dried and put away.
7. Spent less than a fiver on groceries in Mr. T - have made OH a cottage pie in the sc with rtc mince for his tea.It smells nice, it could be vile though as I won't taste it has I hate minced meat.
8.eta- my neighbours daughter has just brought round a bottle of port - to say thank you for the eggs.
Have a great weekend all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
mhags (((hugs)))) to you and your DD2Frith - I've got no useful advice to offer, but - just remember that you and your boys deserve the very best of everything and everyone.
I second that !!! Have been in similar situation with my ex-husband (one of reasons he is now ex) . Hope things improve for you soon Frith (((hugs)))
Have tried to be more positive today
1. Managed to get 5 hours sleep. Havent slept properly all week
2. Had a good blether with new team member
3. Email from orange agreeing to refund all charges on my account for voicemail and free voicemail for life !!! due to their email a few months ago stating (incorrectly as it now turns out) that my call plan did not charge for voicemail whilst I had plan minutes left (thank goodness I kept the email !!!)
4. Its friday and am not back at work until Tuesday:):):)
5. Takeaway for tea.... have blown the budget but what the hell

Mhags hope you managed to rest
Oh dear Frith, not good. Hoping you get it sorted out soon
Wishes to all the poorlies to get better now
1. Still no chance of getting out thanks to the rain so the paperwork organisation continues, pleased with how far I got today. I can now almost see the duvet on the bed in the little bedroom/office/toiletries store/general glory hole!
2. Lost 2lb this week. However....
the following are in advance but may not be able to post tomorrow so -
3. Invited to dinner tomorrow, at the home of two of my lovely friends to celebrate the birthday of a third
4. Just had a phone call inviting me out on Sunday to the birthday dinner of another, completely unrelated, friend
5. Bought my Jubilee outfit, some friends and I are hiring a canal boat for the day (not quite the Gloriana but we're not quite in Her Majesty's league!) Hat, dress, shoes and all r/w/b accessories came to £13 thanks to cs's and eb@y - very :money:
a special 6. My little lad came to stay with me on a temp basis til my DD found him a permanent home, as he was getting picked on by the alpha male in the pack. He's been with me 6 years tomorrow :rotfl:
Sweet dreams0 -
Mhags; Thinking of you all.
Chickenopolis, thanks I will give it a try, I don't like meat that well tastes like meat.
It feels like it’s been hard work the past few days, DH is getting overly stressed over things that he shouldn’t be letting get to him, so the holiday isn’t a minute to soon. I was going to suggest delaying it by a week think it’s probably needed now.
I may pop on but very limited connection as secluded area, have fun, back in a few weeks.
1. I went to see the nice new doctor first thing this morning, he was able to give me a prescription for some strong painkillers, to take until the gallbladder surgery.
2. Everything is loaded to the van we are ready to rock and roll at silly o clock tomorrow, wow it was hard work. I pack and I am one of those truely awful end up with lots, Mr PK counts out tshirts and joggers and voila done.:rotfl:
3. The cats are safely ensconced elsewhere which means the start of a holiday / or for me means while Mr PK drives them to cattery, I get to deep clean the cats area and chuck all of the bedding etc to wash and dry.
4. Wrapping DH’s birthday gifts to take with us, they are only little things but means he has some parcels to open.:)
5. I ordered a maxi dress I had my eye on for ages and it dropped from £40 to £12 and then the free std delivery came up so I bought it, it arrived today and got an “oh wow” from Mr PK, i think it was just sheer shock of seeing me in a dress.:o:rotfl:0 -
hugs to MHagster and Frith
Hope you sleep better skint it's weekend
CCP next time you've run out of work just email me :rotfl: I was in till 7:30 bleuh
so my 5 OS pleasures of the day
1) had a sleep in. It's been a very long week and I didn't have a meeting till 10 so I left it to the very last minute. Then another 2 minutes oops so was 2 minutes late
2) lunch was doggy bag curry and rice from last night
3) Got a lot of work done once everyone else had knocked off. Perhaps I should sleep in more often ;-)
4) heated up the rest of the doggy bag for OH, me and DS for supper. A totally OS take away :money:
5) Then we watched the Despicable Me DVD I bought a couple of weeks ago (with Hop for £5 from Mr S. Bargain :T) Loved it.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 127 / 625
declutter: 173 / 2025
frogs eaten: 60
