eta - VJsmum - loving your Scandinavian tales ;)

Thanks :D - hope i haven't bored you all too much. I have just looked back and my spelling is shocking  Whilst it is difficult on the phone, having an intenet-y phone has been a bit of a lifeline.

Back home now with a cold :( but for yesterday

    1. Having breakfast in hotel with candles on table, Frank Sinatra crooning away and snow gently falling made it all very christmassy.
2 Last visit to Hammarby Sjostad - an eco town - was excellent. If anyone is interested in sustainable communities it is worth looking up. Some of their innovations were truly before their time given that much of the development is 10 years old.
    3. Nice announcement over the aircraft tannoy on landing "The students of X university would like to thank VJsmum, J, H and R for organising their fantastic study visit to Stockholm". Was really appreciated - especially by J who had done most of the organising.
    4. Scrumtious pre flight cappucino and carrot cake at airport - courtesy of expenses
    5. Being home

Thanks for all your posts everyone they have really helped to keep me going. Apart from hearing about your nice weather which i really didn't need to know about. :rotfl:

Kittikins, nought wrong with lovely as an adjective!
Sparrer, have a lovely trip away. Enjoy your time with gd.

1.another nice drive to work, makes such a difference driving in daylight, which will only last a couple more weeks I reckon. Was dark at 6.30 pm though.
2.my 2 main colleagues who I work full time with being supportive and wise when I needed support and wisdom today.
    3. Left work on home had a nice drive back, roads are quiet as its school holidays. Came home to a birthday card from friend and the loveliest letter and drawings from her daughter. I cried( happy tears) when I read the letter.
4.had a nice walk with dd2 to dd1 s work....bought chocolate and got staff discount!
    5.ate too much chocolate so didn't need tea....so that's money saving isn't it ?
    6. Sat in peace and read my book, occasionally hearing ds and dd2 having fun.( dd 1 was out earning money!)
    7. My birthday flowers were past their best , tulips that had gone all tall and wilty, so pulled them out but the foliage and gysophilum still look pretty so hanging on to them for a few more days.

Not really a pleasure , last week when we out for pre birthday dinner, we were walking home and there were hundreds of black beetles on pavement along strip of shops, well tonight there were thousands of them. OH went to cash line and they were crawling all over wall and then we had to go to chemist and they were everywhere! Yikes! Heeby Jeebies

Have a lovely beetle free day

    <peeps round the door>

May I join you lovely people? I have dipped a toe in here on the very odd occasion but since many of my days seem to be groundhog day I need to remind myself of the little pleasures every day.

    Mine for today

    1. Had kids at home off sick (school doesn't finish until Thurs) and thankfully they have improved as the day wore on. Been nice having them at home :)

    2. Friend called round for coffee on her lunch break so had a nice chin wag

    3. Had some desperately needed rain, snow allegedly on the way :j

    4. My two cheap apple trees from Aldi have their first leaves appearing. It's a miracle I didn't kill them as apart from when they were first planted I've not watered them :o

    5. Cooking pasta bake for tea, nice and simple since i feel so tired.
I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife :D Louise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.

    5 for today

    1. Site visit - just little old me , surrounded by 4 of their top managers , I had to ask the company to provide evidence about a serious complaint made against them .

    2. Had lunch at 3.45pm and went home at 4pm

    3. Chargrilled a chicken breast , with some courgettes and served with rice and broccoli in a creamy sauce for tea.

    4. Hens started shouting when they knew I was in the house - this still makes my day ... I know Ladyhawk it is purely for food :)

    5. An evening of peace as OH goes out on a Tuesday and I intend to use the exercise bike with the volume of the t.v cranked right up :)

    HakeberYorkshire Dales, how lovely!
Chickenyes, will be backing the horses myself. I've backed and schooled nearly every horse I've ever owned. Much prefer it. I go very slowly,go-with-the-flow sort of thing. Then one day just get on board. The big cob will be backed next summer or early autumn when he's 3 1/2 the other we will leave til he's 4 1/2 a s he's not as mature mentally. DH helps a great deal which is fantastic.
    my 5 today
    1. Got new glasses,hurray!
    2. Bought easter eggs for various family members and have them displayed on the kitchen dresser.
    3. Wood burner lit , but cats not content infront of it they are fighting on the stairs.
    4. Got a headcollar from Derby House for £22 instead of £54 as its in the sale. Its very nice too.
5.Been to the library and am looking forward to curling up with a book later.
    Have a good evening everyone.
