Hugs to all of the poorly ones.
Kittikins I'm not sure it's any help as obviously it's April, but the offers on kitchens over christmas seem to be very good. We are hoping to be able to hit the half price kitchen sales one year. And also big hugs, I don't know how the ankle is but I can relate mine is telling me the weather and the pain is so so annoying.
A late hello over here, been busy cleaning up and packing up the van, hoping the weather well is ok in general obviously, just been told by the campsite owner that we have the site to ourselves as well at the mo.
1. Got up early for a change
2. Lots of calls about jobs that really aren’t quite but I have to apply anyway. A pleasure to be considered.
3. Popped over to Costco, wow that was seriously busy and full of families, and we went over early to avoid crowds ops! Well we used our vouchers and got some food bits for camping at the weekend so no additional shopping costs. The smell of the fresh baked hot cross buns in the car on the way back was amazing.
4. Bought back a cold cooked chicken as cheat food for the next couple of days.
5. About to load up the caravan, excited!0 -
Evening all,
Its official, I'm not going to Dubai. I respect my boss's decision but certainly not they way he told me. His office is about 10m from my desk and just after I got in at 8am I got an email saying "on reflection I think I would like you to give this one a miss - I think it has car crash written all over it and whilst it would be good exposure and a good experience I think the risks are too high." I naturally felt rather upset by this. Anyway after chatting to Mr Dubai (more to come on that later) I calmed down enough to speak to the boss about it this afternoon... And blow me down the little toe rag turned it around and accused me of being immature, oversensitive and lacking confidence. Apparently he wasn't referring to me in his email and rather the fact that he felt the conference was disorganised. In fact if he thought it was a good conference, he would be going himself! Err... He just would not admit that he was wrong in what he said and that he trusted and respected me no matter what!
Anyway... I applied for a new job today instead.
1) Met Mr Dubai at lunch time. It was really lovely to see him
2) Sushi samples at work
3) Arrange to see an ex colleague for drinks in a couple of weeks. He's really lovely and I really miss his banter
4) Yummy baked camembert and bread for supper... A very naughty treat
5) Left the office at 8.30pm but got loads of stuff done at work and hopefully I will be back on track with workload in the next week or so
Night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Arms length (((hugs)) for all those with man flu x;)
Ladyhawk- Im sorry to hear that Dubai is a no go and that your boss wasn't very nice about it
PK - have a fab holiday in The Caravan of Love:D I hope the weather is kind to you x
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Vjsmum - if you have finished with the Vick rubbing Viking you can sling him my way if you want to . I am not ill though
5 for today
1. Joint site meeting with another professional . The Provider had completed about half of what they were required to do. Basic stuff too - no excuse really.
2.Banged out and sent a summary of what the above needed to do and how and when this needs to be done , whilst it was fresh in all of our minds.
3. The office feels quite "chilled" as people are either on holiday or looking forward to the Easter break -me included
4. Had half a pizza for tea loaded with toppings of my choice.
5. Some little girls who live a few doors away were waiting for me when I got out of my car. They said that they had posted an Easter card and a flower in my letter box. It was a teeny scrap of paper folded in half with happy Easter written on it accompanied by a camelia head . I asked them if the flower that they had picked for me was from my garden and they proudly said yes.:rotfl:I did laugh .
have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
LOL at the flower, but what a lovely sweet thought.
my 5
1. made a cherry cake
2.made a dent in the stockpile by using 1 tin and a few dried split peas
3.changed the bed and put a new quilt cover and pillow cases on,it looks nice
4. Both woodburners lit, its snowing!
5.just watched Gardeners World on iplayer.0 -
Blimey OT - it is so warm and sunny here I can't believe you have snow !
My next door neighbour has just brought round a huge bunch of roses for me to say "thank you" for the eggs . These are not decapitated or from my garden either;):AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
OT - I do envy you your snow (and your woodburners, actually).
Chicken - I'm glad you enjoyed your camellia, after going to all that effort to grow it. :rotfl: It was very sweet of them, though.
Ladyhawk - I'm sorry to hear about the conference.I had a bit of an 'issue' at work today myself - a meeting with two colleagues who can't stand each other - their initial attempts at being polite rapidly turned into snappy comments, and sighing and eye-rolling when the other one was talking. Sadly they're both senior to me so I couldn't tell them to grow up like I desperately wanted to!
cat_g - thanks for the link to the HB recipe. I didn't realise there was a new series on, so I'm off to watch that in a bit.
1) A lovely warm, sunny day, which I particularly appreciated knowing how bad the weather is elsewhere in the country. I hope everyone's OK and no-one's totally buried under the snow.
2) Went to collect and pay for the new pair of work shoes I'd ordered, and realised when I got to the shop that I'd forgotten the 20% off voucher that was the whole point of buying them. The nice SA put the discount through anyway, though. :T
3) In another shop, found myself a nice scarf for next winter (or now, if the snow comes further south), reduced from £15 to £2. :money:
4) The first of my flower seeds has finally decided to poke its head above the compost.
5) Fish and chips for dinner - from the freezer, but still yummy.
Have a nice evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
Man flu still going strong so another early night
1) sweet lady next to me at review kept me supplied with strepsils
2) apart from fighting coughing all day really enjoyed the review-unlike last year this year i'm on the reviewing side :T
3) called in gp to see if my letter re prescription had arrived. It had but prescription not written yet, but while there met ex student who's doing his gp placement there
4) not involved in tomoz am review so can have a lie-in ( and have already read stuff for pm review :T)
5) DS just back from cinema. He's on hols now and not good at letting us know where he's gone, so good i don't need to worry about him being out.

Tomorrow, we head off to a quiet rural campsite all to ourselves, it has the basics but no leccy hookup (so it’s also nice and cheap), I’ll check in, in a few days. Have a wonderful Easter weekend everyone whatever you are up to.
1. All packed up and ready to go.:j
2. Spent the day washing and properly cleaned the dead car, our car and the van so it’s all looking a bit more loved.:o
3. Fridge packed with yellow sticker items I did laugh when I looked in.
4. Ferret cuddles
5. Converted a bag clothes to rags and animal bedding as it’s well worn out.0 -
Evening all. My 5 pleasures for today:
1) Seeing "Legally Blonde" today with friends.
2) More recycling done!
3) Buying new ink cartridges through Nectar and then Amazon, so more points (and we all know that points mean prizes).
4) Recycling of a DVD for a friend's birthday present (I received 2 Take That Progress DVDs and I know that she wants one!).
5) sorting out recipes from magazines... I might make them one day.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
