Millie - I really wish I was one of your students, is all I
can say! I'm obviously studying the wrong subject, as there's no cider trips on
    my course.
Ahhh, there is a trick involved though, as they also get to visit a lab on the same day. I like to call it the "cider mill trip" though as it makes it sound like more fun than the "lab and cider mill trip" I don't think we got to go to the cider mill when I did the course, we went to the sewage plant instead!!

The cider mill is fab though, even though I could probably lead the tour myself, having been about 6 times :rotfl:

Frith- fingers still crossed for your Dad xx

    Chicken - nope :rotfl:tempting though!!

    Yesterday:

    1. Not much traffic on way to work.
    2. yummy pizza for tea
    3. DS made me cup of tea when I got in from work without too much arguing

Sorry, struggled to find any OS pleasures for friday. Too hot and stressed at work. Came home exhausted and felt like crying. House a tip. Had pizzathehut delivery on credit card :( was 50% off voucher and yummy but will have to try and cut back somewhere to pay off. Had a row with DS who was being really annoying. Fell asleep on sofa at 9pm, woke up at 12.30 but then couldnt sleep when got into bed. Tossed and turned for 3 hours and then got chronic indigestion so ended up having very little sleep.

    For today:

    1. Better day today :) (no work). Lovely sunshine :)
    2. 3 loads of washing done & dried outside
    3. hoovered, cleaned bathroom, dishes washed, kitchen cleaned
    4. Tidied garden & cut grass for first time this year
    5. walk round local pond (despite sciatica playing up from doing too much housework & cutting grass ;) )

Happy weekend & healing wishes to all who are poorly & all dads x

Oo oo oo just thought of another one (cheating i know) The Now Show courtesy of iPlayer episode 3 Andy Parsons recounting trying to pay his tax bill online. Starts about 11 minutes in. I have listened to it 4 times, so once more it could be my 5 OS pleasures cos apart from the electricity it didnt cost me a penny :D

    Evening all

I love weekends! Finding pleasures is never an issue then. :D

    1. Lie-in (albeit unplanned)
    2. buying 2 nice bday cards and 2 sheets of giftwrap on the market for £1.55
    3. Sticking to my budget with the shopping, including a bottle of red
    4. Watching lots of German TV on my laptop for the first time. I'm German, but have lived in Britain since 1989. Hoping to qualify as a translator in the next year or so, I need to get up-to-date with current affairs vocabulary. Politics and finance rarely feature in secondary language teaching.
    5. With DH away for the weekend I could have music on whenever I liked. He thinks you can only switch the TV off at bedtime.
    6. Going to have a relaxed evening with some more research, a few chores and a glass or two of red. :D

    Hello all,

struggling to find 5 today, feeling really tired but haven't done anything all day. My mum always says its because I'm unwinding, something I'm not always good at doing, always thinking about what to do next even if I'm resting!

right here we go, must be some positives...

    1. had a nice bath and no-one disturbed me

    2. house was/is a tip but doesn't matter as only us in.

    3. NSD

    4. DH cooking sausage sarnies as I type (kids already eaten hours ago) I've been on an unoffical semi-strike today. Fed up of doing lots round house including most/all cooking every weekend. Weekdays I'm fine with as DH works outside home and I work inside it but I feel weekends should be more of a joint effort or at least some weekends. Sorry not meaning to moan, just explaining (honest guv!)

    5. a lovely 5. Both sons just run in for goodnight kisses and DS2 asked for 77 kisses so just had to kiss him really quickly lots of times and then exclaim "77!" I wish he could be five years old for ever....being daft now I know

will look forward to a better frame of mind tomorrow, we are all going swimming in the morning which boys are excited about as we have treated them to dive sticks and DH has promised me ahem a nice Sun eve so will need to pack the boys off to bed early ;)

    sq:)

    Evening

    Pleasures for yesterday and today,
    1. RTC muchrooms on toast with a poached egg for breakfast yesterday before work.
    2. Nice chat with mum on the phone and have decided to make a visit next weekend. Must book train tickets now
    3. Thanks to MSE free Dettol no touch handwash dispenser :money:
    4. Shopping coming in under budget and included some treats plus a sports bra for me. Used £8.50 of vouchers thanks to MSE :money:
    5. Enjoying a drink with DD and sharing a panini when we went for a walk to local shops.
    6. Bumping into a friend and catching up on gossip. Plus DD managed to put her mind at rest with something that has been going on with her DD.

Hugs to all who need them

    Evening Peeps,

    1) Made some apply and carrot muffins

    2) Popped into see the estate agent to get feedback on my offer. Idiots hadn't passed it on. They really are numpties. Turns out the executor is interested buying the house so I really have no chance. But at least I now know

    3) Spent a lovely afternoon with my DB, SiL and nephew.

    4) Reverbed 1p

    5) weighed myself this morning and I have lost a couple of kg :)

    Night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Feeling a tad bit sorry for myself tonight, because of the bug, just not on when it’s the weekend J
Chicken I reckon you’re right it’s a whole mix of things so when a bugs hit it’s hit in style.

    RTC Bacon sandwich for brekkie
An email saying an ebay item I ignored since being outbid ( a lovely animal cage) had a 2nd chance offer on, so accepted it and picked it up this afternoon and it’s perfect.
I’m sure there are loads more I just have “fuzzy thinking” tonight.

    Saturday's goodies

    1. DD came into my bed for lovely cuddles and a singsong in the morning

    2. We decided to brave Co$tco and !kea as we had things we 'needed', even though I was feeling really rubbish for a while with the stupid coughing, hot/cold thing....

    3. Spent £70 on food that will keep us going for a while (shame not much fresh stuff though, but we did get DD's favourite apples) in Co$tco and it's budgeted for (just!)

    4. Managed to 'save' lots of money in !kea as we 'needed' various bits of furniture for the house and took measurements of things we kind of liked but then when we got home, I decided to fashion a coffee table out of a hamper (and am hoping to get a real coffee table from freecycle later today), found a very dodgy unit for the TV to go on that actually fits the space I have even if it's very ugly and bits of laminate are coming off the chipboard (whatever!) and a horrible plastic storage unit to be the hall table for the phone/modem. All found in the garage and the latter two dodgy/horrible looking things were left by the exOH and are ancient and legally mine :)

    5. The first aiders at !kea were very kind to DD when she hurt her knee and needed an ice pack and TLC.

    6. DD was lovely and once her knee was feeling better (thankfully now just a bit bruised), she applied the ice pack to my ankle as it was hurting so much I could barely walk, I guess all the hard work/stress of recent weeks is now catching up with me

    7. OH's came over for our yummy Wa!trose curry night with DD

    8. I found a different type of cable to link up the DVD player to the TV, and it means that we don't get the crackling sound that was sooooo off-putting any more. Yay! We celebrated by watching the Simpsons' movie, classy eh?! :)

    9. We all had an earlyish night, so why on earth I'm up now I don't know......

I'm hoping to unpack maybe one more box and a couple of suitcases and then the rest of the junk can stay in the garage til I get the building work done, woohoo!

Frith - hope daddy's getting better by the minute, and that you're feeling better x

I haven't posted for a couple of days.

    1. Working yesterday morning - I really enjoy working on Saturdays - its double time but I can just do my job without phone calls, emails and the hassle which you get during the week. Also given chocolates.l

    2. DS2 winning his hockey match. He is captain. I thouhjt I would miss the start after work but opposition were late and so I saw it all.

    3. Chatting with other parents while watching.

    4. Cooked tea even though DH suggested take away.

    5. Lovely walk in the sun and met a friend so had a chat.

    6. Phone call from DS1 and he was really chatty.

7 Neighbours have moved in and they seem nice.

    8. A NSD yesterday.

    9. Seeing a woodpecker.
