Hoorah for visiting chickens, they obviously think your coop is a home from home Chickenopolis
We're moving next week!!! It's going to be fun, fun, fun
1. Exchanging on the new house was the best pleasure for a very, very long time
2. I got the key to the garage at the new house and took a car load of things over, the garage is like a tardis, it looks even bigger inside than out
3. Went for a mooch around the house and felt even happier with it now its empty and ready for us to move in
4. Fabulous acupuncture session
5. Low spend day, sadly not a NSD, but never mind, I've done really well so far this month!
6. A friend may be able to help me rent a van for moving mega-cheaply as he's in the trade, fingers crossed0 -
Yesterday we travelled down south for fil's funeral :-( but even in sad situations there are blessings.
1) We packed a tasty picnic courtesy of lidl, stopping twice for hot drinks, the loo and stretching legs
2) we stopped with my sister and were able to deliver her birthday pressies
3) i nipped into the charity shop here this am and got very nice black coat ( £12) and boots (£5) plus blue scarf (£2) for the funeral. Also very nice work shirt (£4.50)
4) lots of familiar (though older) faces and new to me faces at the funeral. A fine send off
5) just been to coop to get pizza for tonight and lunch for tomoz journey back. Lots of ys stuff.
So that's 5 for the two days. Staying with mil tonight. Probs wont get online tomoz. Shattered! (and biopsy wednesday ). Tons of love to all. XxxMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Evening all!!
Chicken- that made me gigglehow kind of Fiona to comment on your ermmm, bits! And I can just imagine the chickens!
Kittikins - woop! Fab news
Frith- hope you are ok xx
Sparrer - cute kitties
Yesterday got a bit sadder as we realised the man who died in the crash was the son of one of mum's WI friends and she is a lovely lady. The whole community is in shock and the village has been taken over by tv crews. He was obviously a very well regarded man
Mine for today
1. Mini lie in- woke up with horrendous earache in the night - couldn't work out in my semi awake state if it was earache or a migraine, but it has been grumbling on a bit all day.
2. Caught up on some housework, closely followed by my hairy stalker (GSD, not a random hairy person). Started the ironing and she came and lay on my feet, which restricted me somewhat!
3. Pork, apple, cider, sage and Stilton casserole for dinner- was inhaled!
4. Surprise box of chocs from OH's colleague as I had lent her my ski helmet. Unexpected, which made it even nicer
5. Cheeky nap late afternoon to catch up. Early night with hottie on my ear, methinks!
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
Evening all.
Kittikins - that's fantastic news! :j
ninnoodle - any chance of a recipe for the harissa chickpea and halloumi dish, please? That's three of my favourite things in one meal.
1) Not losing my temper with a group of colleagues who turned up 45 minutes late for a meeting, without phoning to let me know. That's plain rude even if you are a deputy head of department.
2) NSD - that's two in a row.
3) Tonight's dinner didn't turn out at all well - I only managed to eat about half before having to admit it was practically inedible- but I'm usually a pretty good cook so I know it's not likely to happen again.
4) Took the taste away with a fruit yoghurt and some almond biscuits I made with the pastry trimmings from yesterday's pie.
5) Watching mog scraping out the yoghurt pot with a paw - I temporarily had a black-and-peach-yoghurt coloured cat. :rotfl:
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening Ladies,
Sparrer - thanks for the kitty photos... very cute
Kittikins - congratulations on the exchange. I hope that this home is filled with much happiness for many years to come
Millie - sorry to hear your villages' loss. He clearly was a very well respected member of the community.
1) Busy, busy day in the office. The day just flew by
2) Baking a chocolate cake for a colleague's birthday... I don't eat chocolate but it does smell nice
3) Got some RTC bargains from MrS.
4) Kitty is not sulking too much following the visit to the vet. Unfortunately he needs x-rays so is going in on Wednesday... sounds expensive
5) The cupcakes I took in for another colleagues birthday today were well received.
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening
DundeeDoll - Fingers crossed for the biopsy on Wednesday
Pleasures for today,
1. Low spend day, just needed to buy some photo paper from the £ shop for DD.
2. Lovely lunch at work with our little lunch club. I had made Chirizo and Berlotti Bean soup which went down very well, K made onion bread and P brought cream cakes. The 5 of us had a very sociable lunch, makes Monday a bit easier to go into work for.
3. Did a survey today so £3 in luncheon vouchers to look forward to.
4. Won 2 mugs on the McVities VIP site. Entered codes from biscuits from approved foods.
5. Nice chat with dad on the phone tonight. He normally hands the phone straight over to mum so was nice to get to talk to him for a while.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all. Been missing from the thread for a couple of weeks so apologies if I'm not up to speed with everyone's news. You may remember that I recently found out a dear friend was terminally ill - she died last Friday. She was a lovely woman with a great sense of humour and I count myself lucky that I had her in my life for the twelve or so years that I knew her.
My pleasures for today:
1. Accepting an offer on my house!!!! :T Fingers crossed that all goes well from here - there is no chain involved so I am hopeful all will proceed smoothly.
2. Being a domestic goddess and making a lasagne for the freezer as well as a terrine. Yummy!
3. Homemade soup and bread for lunch.
4. Doing a major sort out of my finances in the morning.
5. Phone call from a good friend in the evening who also knew and loved the friend who died. We agreed how very special she was.
6. Being tickled pink by a photo of a cute puppy that seems to be going viral on Facebook - I'd love to post it but it's too rude! Let's just say the puppy has gone to sleep in a position that looks just like part of the male anatomy...:rotfl:Very strokeable...:p
7. Another NSD and NPD.
8. Hot porridge and fruit for breakfast - just what's needed in this cold weather.
9. Doing some more of the Open University psychology course I'm studying.
10. Doing a mini workout with weights.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
savingforoz, I'm sorry about the news but glad that you and your friend had such good time together over so many years.
Fab news about the house too, and good luck Kittikins with the impending move.:T
Today has been better for us thank goodness. Five pleasures for Monday then:
1. It looks as if DS1 has been offered an extra bunch of days paid work in the near future and he's being encouraged to put in an application for another part-time job in the same place so fingers crossed.:)
2. Got the yearly gas safety check done this morning and in honour of the poor gasman having to check the rather splattered cooker hob, I cleaned it before he came until it sparkled to match the sink I shined yesterday. The kitchen is positively twinkly.:D
3. Got two loads of DS1's washing done from him being away last week and then got it all dried on the line in the lovely warm weather we've had here. Managed to get DS2's bedding washed and dried as well.:)
4. Cheesy potato bake made for supper tonight and tomorrow's packed lunch, and HM soup prepared for tomorrow night's supper when we come back home tired. I've more or less cleared the fridge ready for the veggie box delivery as well.
5. Watching Upstairs Downstairs which felt self-indulgent really.
Sleep well,
B x0 -
1. Managed to post ebay parcels and catch my yrain.
2, Read more of my book on the train - listening to my ipod.
3. Seen on time at my routine hospital appointment by a lovely lady.
4. Prepared tea before I left so just needed cooking.
5. Ironing done on cheap electricity.0 -
Big hugs savingforoz x0
