Morning all, thought I'd pop on and post my pleasures from yesterday. Got a headache that I'm trying to shift at the moment so apologies if I'm not too coherent. Here goes:

    1. Cooked a gammon shank in the slow cooker and was again amazed at how much meat I got off one + stock. I'll be using the former for pies and the latter for soup. :D
    2. The snow. I don't like it, personally, as I'm still too new a driver to be entirely comfortable (particularly getting up the hill from work on an untreated road tomorrow - ARGH) but it IS pretty to look at. A blackbird just landed on the fence, gave a disgruntled chirp and flew off again. My car has snow clinging to its wheel arches and icicles dripping off the bumper! Poor little Mappetty (my name for it - Mappetty = Ma Petite Voiture - sad, I know ;) ).
    3. Made moussaka for tea last night. I wasn't really expecting to get a lot of freeze, but we've got half of it left. I didn't make more than normal - not sure what happened!
    4. Mr Kitchenbunny. 'Nuff said. :)
    5. A friend whom I've been trying to get into mealplanning has sent me her plan (got to get her on here next) and told me she's got a neighbour doing the same! If I can help one person, who in turn can help one person, etc. That's a nice feeling.

Anyway, got to go start the day. I put my snow boots on before I sat down to see if they still fitted or if I needed more socks. They fit just fine, but I've got boiling hot feet now as I left them on! Take care, everyone. (((hugs))) to those under the weather and definite get better vibes. Here's to a good day.

  • Millie - keeping my fingers crossed that everything turns out ok.

Here are my five for yesterday:-

1 - Managed to get into a pair of jeans that I couldn't even do up before! Have been trying to be good since the new year so it looks like it's paying off.
2 - Had a few friends over last night. Was so good to catch up as it's been a while.
3 - I noticed that the car heating wasn't working so called Dad (who is a mechanic!) He found out that there was a water leak and fixed it. He said that if I hadn't pointed it out to him then I would have broken down next week, so I am very thankful and it didn't cost me a penny. Thanks Dad!
4 - Had lunch with Mum whilst Dad was looking at the car. My sister turned up too and it was really good to spend a bit of time with them.
5 - Was up with the lark yesterday and had written a set of minutes, done a load of washing and dried it and been shopping all by 9am! :j

Morning everyone- mini update from this end...she seems a bit brighter this morning- whereas last night she was flat out and not interested in anything, today she is brighter in herself and more interested in her surroundings (she is a v nosy dog!!). She went out and licked some snow and came back in and sniffed her bacon chew, then ate it, so I asked Dad to bring some chicken in and she ate that too!!

Getting 10 pills into her this morning was, errrmm interesting! What with that and the wabbits meds, I ought to re-train as a vet nurse :D

(actually I would make a rubbish vet nurse, far too emotionally involved!!)

That's such good news Millie :T . We've always given our mutts chicken and rice when they've been poorly, the vet sells it in cans but at a very prohibitive cost and I think fresh is better anyway. Bless her, will keep her in my thoughts/prayers that she continues to improve :)
