5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Evening all,
Good day today. Feel quite in control of things at work and it was lovely to come home to a lovely, tidy flat.
1) Porridge for brekkie which was left over from Saturday. Why didn't I consider batch cooking porridge before?
2) Ran into a lady who showed me around her flat that she is trying to sell last week. The flat was really nice but was on a main road. She and her boyfriend were so nice that I wanted to buy it so they could move! Anyway - she said hello to me at King Cross station. I looked her as if she was mad until she explained who she was. We had a good chat and it turns out her estate agent had told her a few porky pies about me!!
3) Went out to the pub with some colleagues and a ex colleague - it was nice to catch up with her.
4) Didn't get a parking fine!!! Yet again I forgot to pay at the station and only remembered mid morning.
5) Half price fruit pastielles... My favourites!
Night all... Sleep well
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Hugs to all the poorlies, hope you feel better asap
Rainy-Days so pleased to hear the news re Saffy
Millie when we sold DS's cremello on we 'adopted' a grey at Redwings. Now though I support much smaller charities if I can as I feel they need us more than the well-known ones. Admiration for your friend. Btw what was oldie doing with a huge mug of hot Ribena? I know some animals have unusual tastes, but....!
PK congratulations on your first day, you'll soon feel you've been there for ages
Ladyhawk no wonder some EA's give the rest a bad reputation, they'll do anything to try to get a sale. Pleased the lady was savvy enough not to be taken in.
Chicken I love Secret Millionaire, a super programme with a real feel good factor. More like that needed! Was out so missed Superscrimpers but will watch before bed
1. DSis let me know she and her partner are getting married in the Summer :T. They both have very busy lives working with needy people, both in their 50's, been married before with now adult children and been together 10+ years. Talk about taking time to be sure! Really though, Im thrilled for them both
2. nsd
3. Postie brought me a voucher for doing a survey. The birthday/Christmas stash is coming on nicely already
4. A load of washing almost line-dried before it rained
5. Out this evening giving a talk about my role in the fellowship, and someone who knows me well made a lemon drizzle cake. Not really OS (except it was hm rather than bought) but it was pretty yummy anyway
Sleep tight

Evening all.
My five for Monday:
1. Another home-based day (apart from being an evening taxi service) so I've managed my 26th NSD in January - something I thought would be absolutely impossible until I tried it. :jHave set an initial goal of 19 for February.
2. An afternoon nap where I fell asleep under the duvet listening to the radio. It was much needed, I'm really tired atm.
3. More tidying and freeing up cupboard and shelf space. I now have three boxes labelled with 'charity books', 'charity non-books' and 'give to friends' which I intend to keep filling and emptying until this blinking job is done, but I can see the effect it is having already and that's very motivating. My secondhand books for sale pile is growing nicely. I already have loads in boxes in the attic.
4. Cheesy, eggy. potato pie for supper - the usual Monday night/Tuesday packed lunch meal but it still tastes scrummy.
5. Eating a bowl of HM popcorn just now  DS1 got hungry, made lots and left some over for me. An unusual snack before bed I think - not very low in calories but at least it's wheat free!
Sweet dreams

will post earlier again:
1.aaaahhh! cool and fresh (as in brrrr very!) air. First day in a while it's been below 20o, the house feels so much cooler...roll on autumn!
2.Nice chat with my friend from home before work.
3.Work was good, 2 new staff in for training so lightened the load a bit this morning.
4.little spend day! again not quite a NSD.....(just tried to abbreviate that & it doesn't look good!)
5.Listening to DD2 chatting on the phone with her weird transatlantic accent! She's Scottish for goodness sake!0 -
Morning
PK - Glad your first day went well
Pleasures for yesterday;
1. Packed lunches for me and OH yesterday so no spending on food.
2. Went to get DD's new A3 sketch book from Hobby Craft, think they may have mis-priced as only charged me £2.99 when normally about £15. Very pleased with this price:money:
3. Booked hotel for our girly trip to Edinburgh in June to do the Moonwalk. Managed to get 2 nights in a travellodge in the city centre for £37.50 each so very happy as are the girlies I'm going with.
4. Walked home from work and the sky was definetly lighter than it has been which was nice to see but it was very chilly.
5. Stuck to the meal plan and made chicken curry for dinner and there is enough left for my lunch today plus enough chicken for OH sandwiches today and tomorrow.
Hugs to all who need them0 -

Oh believe me, she would if she could, in fact she has!
I like to support the smaller charities too, we adopt a pony from a local sanctuary for MIL. I like what EMW do, beacuse they go into markets and challenge any breaches in legislation (there are lots of these) and Elaine is so passionate about what she does, it's a 24/7 job and it is such hard work and she is always struggling funding wise, as are many smaller charities0 -
Broomstick - well done on the NSDs! I think I am going to have to try them. I don't go out to the shops much but tend to browse online too much and before I know it, I've bought it!
Chicken - I too love Secret Millionaire. It also gets me crying at the end!
PK - glad it all went well!
Mine for Monday:
1. My OH took the cats to the vet for their jabs. The kitten had never even been in the car before and had an 'accident' on her carrier on the way. She got cleaned up at the vets but then had another 'accident' on the way back. I showered her down afterwards as she was covered....I think she quite liked it! (the shower that is!)
2. Superscrimpers!
3. HM soup for tea
4. Cleaning with the music on loud
5. OH has built a log store for outside the house. Now we actually have somewhere to put the logs :j0 -
You are all very quiet today, hope everyone is ok.
Long day here, so I am about to drag my colleague to the bar for a cheeky beer
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
Evening! Time to post some more pleasures from today. I always like this part - it gets me to look back over the day and pick out the good bits (and focus on them) rather than dwelling on the negatives (of which there have been plenty!). So, after unexpected people in the office car park causing a bit of a kerfuffle, feeling generally a bit stressed and having woken up at 4am not really helping, here are my pleasures:
1. I took a trip to Lidl today after a colleague recommended them. As I needed to move my car anyway, I had a drive up there and found that some of the branded items I buy (because Mr Kitchenbunny likes them) are a lot cheaper than in the normal supermarket I shop at. Even when said supermarket has an offer on it can't beat the normal price I saw! So happy!
2. Taking pleasure in a bit of MoneySaving Geekiness. Bottom line means that I can save about 40 quid by buying said fizzy pop from Mr L rather than Mr M.
3. Getting home, getting the kitchen cleared up and the tea ready to start cooking whenever it's required.
4. Again, sticking to the shopping list. I'm not counting my chickens, but if I keep up the current Grocery Challenge I look set to come in waaaaaaaaay under budget!
5. The sky outside is just so clear. I can see loads of stars!
Ugh, had to have a can of pop today. I didn't want to but I didn't feel I could cope otherwise because of such an early start. Phew! I'll get started on tea in a bit and then switch off. Have a good evening, everyone! (((hugs)))

Millie - Although I love saving money , I still think there is more of a buzz in givinghorses have given me sooo much ( not just the fractures , broken nose three times, permanent hoof shaped hole in my thigh
) and they are so dependent on us . The EMW story about the lady with a dementia type illness who had forgotten that she had a pony , was so sad
I am glad that you mentioned the charity , thank you. I will support them .Enjoy your beer(s) .BTW - Loved the "model" for your jewellery (guinea pig).
Broomstick - :T 26 NSD !!
PK - glad that your first day went well ! Hope today went well also x
5 for today
1. Half an hour on my exercise bike - butt is now where it should be once again
2.Returning to my warm toasty house after a trip to Mr. T , which was very busy as I think that there is a "snow panic" on . Not a flake has fallen .
3. Vet has given old hen another lot of meds - a teeny bottle for £35. Costly but she is worth it to me :)and she is perky , although still struggling to swallow a bit. It was the medication I suggested in the first place (!)
4. Scampi and chips for tea - plain and simple .
5. Pay day whilst on annual leave feels really nice
Hugs to all who need them x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
