Hiya Greenbuzby, this is a very lovely place to spend time.:D
Ninnoodle, I'm [boringly] converted to the NSD thing. :rotfl: Did you know there's a thread each month for people doing the NSD challenge on the Debt-Free Wannabe board?
So anyway, onto Tuesday with (you guessed it!)...
1. Yet another NSD (total 27) which means that I have got through the whole of January with spending money (in cash only, and for absolutely everything except DDs and SOs for bills/rent etc) on just four days.:j
2. Very good end of week, bottom of the fridge soup. DS1 said it was 'one of the best'.:D
3. Have been catching up on the internet with the work a long-lost friend of mine from years and years ago has been doing. He's always been hugely creative and, according to websites, youtube etc, is now doing everything from cartooning to writing to running workshops and producing award winning plays and musicals. Very exciting to see where his work has led. It's really inspiring too.
4. Weighing myself officially today and I've lost about 6 1/2 lbs so far. Hope to have got rid of a little bit more by the end of Feb. I want to do this slowly enough to be sure that the weight will stay off. Lots of inspiration from other people's achievements on here.
5. DS1 talking to me about how pleased he felt to have heard that a student he taught as a beginner a couple of years back decided to train to be a sports coach on the strength of her learning experience. It was a real affirmation of DS1's own teaching abilities and I'm glad he could recognise that.:)
Sweet dreams

Morning
Just a quick post this morning as I should be getting ready for work.
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Managed to get DD some new gloves very cheaply in Claires thanks to there 5 for £5 offer plus it meant I got a few bits for niece to put away in the present stash.
2. Another day of taking lunch to work, left over curry and rice which was very yummy
3. Took another bag to the charity shop, think nearly all the books I no longer want have gone now. Another bag of rubbish in the bin, I will get this house decluttered.
4. Yummy HM sausage and bacon pie for dinner. OH was very complimentary and there is a portion left for my lunch tomorrow.
5. 3 lots of things to try for surveys arrived yesterday including my bottle of liqueur (chocolate baileys), some times being MS can be a hard life :rotfl:
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Millie - Although I love saving money , I still think there is more of a buzz in giving
horses have given me sooo much ( not just the fractures , broken nose three times, permanent hoof shaped hole in my thigh
) and they are so dependent on us . The EMW story about the lady with a dementia type illness who had forgotten that she had a pony , was so sad
I am glad that you mentioned the charity , thank you. I will support them .Enjoy your beer(s) .BTW - Loved the "model" for your jewellery (guinea pig).
Thank you, you are so lovely xx
Welcome Greenbuzby
Mine for yesterday....
Not many OS pleasures to report yesterday, but the IT session I taught with my colleague went well and we went out for drinks and curry last night and dragged boss along. Had a nice chat with boss about "bucket lists" and we talked about things that he would like to do while he still has his health. I also educated?!? him on Erikson's life stages
Feel a bit like I am going down with something...hope not. Mum had been lurgified since last Thursday, so hope I haven't got that bug!! V cold here, think I might have to dig out yet another layer for oldie- it's a wonder you can still see her under her rugs, but she is always toasty warm
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
Welcome Greenbuzby
PK - you probably will feel frazzled for a while. I remember when I started working again after a period of being unemployed I would sometimes come back, have tea and go to bed at 8pm to get a good night's sleep in, I was that tired!
Broomstick - I need to check out the NSD thread I think! Also well done on the weight loss!
Tealady - chocolate Baileys? Yummers!!
Millie - hope you haven't come down with anything. Here's to feeling better now!
Mine for Tuesday:
1. Went into the local work office as was having computer problems and easier to get it sorted from there. This means a drive into the city but I didn't go until mid-morning so not too early a rise!
2. They serve cakes at the office
3. Met a good friend and caught up
4. Fish van day so lovely tea of salmon, rice and stir-fried veg
5. My dad phoned. He lives abroad and I rarely hear from him so it was lovely to speak.0 -
quick hello as it's well past bedtime!
1.Reading a good story on my kindle.....could quite easily have sat all morning & read but had to go to work!
2.Brighter day here but nicely warm with a breeze rather than too hot, we were actually rather chilly last night!
3.Lovely spag bol for tea.
4.Borrowing a friends truck (ute) to bring the rest of stuff from garage (hurrah! I now have 2 sofas again)........this has saved us hiring a trailer. Flooded kitchen in old house had flooded garage underneath, Estate Agent walked into a rather large puddle this morning. Luckily for us there was nothing under the roof of garage at that part & all our important stuff had been moved. OH went to see damage tonight, kitchen cupboards a mess & all lino has been ripped up! I am so glad we are out of there, though we are still tenants for another week.
5.Popping in for a cuppa when we returned ute , had a nice blether.
6.Books I had ordered online for school at much cheaper price finally arrived....1 week later than expected.
Off to bed with my kindle, if I can keep my eyes open! Night x0 -
Hi everyone HAPPY IMBOLC
my 5
1. Its Imbolc ;a cross quarter day;the start of spring;snowdrops flowering and a few green things showing under the hedges and in the garden now; and its bright and sunny which following on from a windy xmas foretells a good year ahead.
2. We have celebrated/are celebrating with lights ;candles;white flowers and "white "foods eg rice pudding;omlette;fish and chips!
3. Very frosty morning and the horse are out with plenty plenty hay and LBH is sunning herself in her coop.[ not the new one--yet].Cats are in front of the fire.
4.off to see a friend in a minute
5. "speaking" to you all on here. Bye till later all
PS ((((HUGS)))) to all who are poorley or miserable right now.0 -
A note to the captain of the Concordia:
Claiming that the rocks you collided with were not on your GPS plotter when you were miles off course is simply not good enough. You know, it's a bit like attempting to turn your car into your driveway, missing it completely and ending up in your neighbours driveway, hitting a bicycle and then saying "That should't have been there!"
Reported. Not genuine, a duplicate reply to several posts in various threads.0 -
1. Working from home today so apart form sorting the horses and walking the dogs I have not been out!
2. A lovely cup of tea with a slice of home made (from yesterday) Victoria sandwich cake at lunchtime.
3. Sorted out my long boots, which I keep in the original boxes, trouble is it makes it difficult to store them, so I have checked them through and put them in the spare room on the floor of the wardobe that way I can see what I have got and it is accessible. Beats storing them under the bed in the spare room as well!!
4. Polished two pairs of ankle boots and one pair of my long brown boots that I got from Clarks in the Christmas sales.
5. Made a wonderful warming stew with dumplings for tonights dinner. DH even said "something smells really good" when he walked in the door!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Evening all!
Flipping lurgy seems to be persisting, ended up in bed for a while this afternoon, but have got up now to sort ze animals....
Mine for today
1. Nice talk with wise old lady this morning
2. Friend sent me this http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2012/feb/01/top-five-regrets-of-the-dying?INTCMP=SRCH and it seemed apt, given what I was talking to my boss about yesterday. I feel like I'm at a stage where I am re-evaluating what it important in my life and realising that life is way too short not to make the most of it
3. Homemade parsnip soup for lunch- was lush
4. Laughing at myself: OH sent a text to ask how I was, I replied (and I quote) "not very good in bed". Punctuation is everything!!
5. French Fancies, well specifically the lemon ones- not very OS, but they must be old as I used to love them as a kid, so treated myself to a box. Not too keen on the choc ones- OH can have those!!
Hugs to anyone in need, I promise I won't breathe my germs all over you0 -
Evening all,
Hope you are all wrapped up warmly.... it was -4 in my neck of the woods this morning with a windchill of -9... Eep!
1) Still feeling very relaxed and relatively happy at work. Its amazing what a little recognition and being busy with interesting work does for one's outlook.
2) Took a lovely colleague out for a coffee after lunch and we had a good catch up. She was the boss's PA but is changing roles which she was giving me the low down on.
3) Free doughnut samples at work... I had one with sprinkles
4) Chatting to my mum this evening
5) Giggling to myself while watching a new and VERY young and VERY naive colleague pester the office grump every 5 minutes, asking him if he variously has scissors, highlighters etc. I fully admit that this was somewhat unkind but she is the type of person that the saying "It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt"
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
