Evenin' OS Pleasure Girls!
Frith - hope you have a good night tonight and get some sleep
1) NSD & NPD
2) Afternoon nap
3) Tidy bedroom and clean bedding
4) Hot bath and shaved legs (bliss together with the clean sheets)
5) Made some caramel popcorn... Yummy! Though I have eaten rather too much of it and now have a headache
6) Tidy lounge and cat fur free throw over the sofa. I wonder how long that will last
Night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Good evening all !
sparrer -great minds think alike (OS Pleasure Girls)
frith - whatever you have sounds terrible ! However it is nice to see that OH is looking after you and it is so nice to have someone to "lean on" during times of illness and emergencies x Get well now please!

5 for today
1. Waking up at 1.30 am ( I have no idea why) and watched one of my fave films "As Good As It Gets" and laughed my bed socks off .
2. Went into town and got a lot of items paid for by Christmas vouchers.
3. Did a reverbe and spotted 20p in a large puddle . OH didn't think I would get it ,but the roadkill pot needs it and I will round up what is already in there and send it to a worthy horse charity, I think
4.Looked in my tiny handbag and found my silver SOS bracelet in there. A link in the chain had come loose and it had fallen off and I had not noticed. I wear it all the time and have done for years - glad I did not lose it
5. Had a turkey that had been in the freezer since ? it had a date in December on it but not the actual year :rotfl:We had a massive roast for tea and if I don't post again you will know why !
Wrap up warm ladies ! Hugs to all of the poorlies x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening
Frith & Ladyhawk - Get well now
Pleasures for today,
1. Little bit of a lie in
2. Spur of the moment decided to go into London with DD. We had a wander around Leicester Square and wondered why it was so busy. Realised it was the Chinese New Year celebrations. Saw a dragon dance which was amazing but was very busy. Also had a wander around Covent Garden to watch the street entertainment. Eventually got very cold so made our way home on the tube.
3. Chilli and wraps for dinner just what we needed to thaw out
4. RTC chicken roasted ready to turn into a curry tomorrow. Will stick to the meal plan for another week.
5. Bread just out of the bread machine ready for lunches tomorrow.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Hello all, Birdsong is depressing me so I thought i'd post here
1. Waking up and it was light
2. OH bringing in a cuppa and waking me from my dream, made me giggle as I said "Oh I was at X's house having dinner" and he said "Well at least you got dinner, my mum wouldn't let me out in my dream" he is 52!
3. A wonderful walk in the hills. Not cold, some brightness if not exactly sunshine, and good chats with good friends
4. Sunday lunch in a proper pub with a fire and everything
5. Not doing much tonight, except knitting and tv watching
Hope all the poorlies get better and hugs to all who need them.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1 - 5 Our Chinatown trip, 4 friends, 3 children, we had the most amazing day, brought back many very happy memories of my lovely, very special friend. So much to see and do, thousands of people there and every single person having a good time, all well behaved, not one unpleasant incident anywhere
. Hand lunch at a noodle bar, I've fallen in love with caramel chicken which sounds strange but is so yum I have to find it locally.
When we were all walked out we went round the corner to the National Gallery, unfortunately the lift was out of order so I didn't make the gallery but strolled round the gift shop while I waited for the others.
One friend bought a knitted hat like a chickens head in Chinatown indoor market, which caused much raucus laughter (and several rather blue suggestions).
Had a most welcome cuppa - it was pretty cold in the streets - in a little Italian place, DGD2 had the biggest slice of cheesecake ever! Which I 'had to' help her with of course, once she'd got through the strawberries on top
Altogether a super, very full day which was very OS, for the two of us it cost me less than £35 including the coach fare. No really tired but nicely so, so I'm just going up the little wooden hill to Bedfordshire.
Pity we didn't know each other was there or we could have met up Tealady
Hope the poorlies get well now

Sparrer and Tealady, maybe next year there could be a 'Five Pleasures meet-up in Chinatown' (sound like an Enid Blyton storybook!:rotfl:)
Get well poorly people. (((((Hugs))))) to you all.
My five pleasures for Sunday:
1. Another NSD which wasn't hard since I haven't left the house all day, not even to put the recycling out, and that meant it was a NPD as well.:D
2. I now have two cupboards in the kitchen that have been emptied and one contains all our tins so I have some idea of how big the stores are (or are not) and I can build up the stockpile a bit more sensibly again. The other cupboard is being turned over to washed out jam jars and other useful containers for the time being which means that the kitchen window sill (the previous store for the jam jars that had nowhere to live) is now looking nice and decluttered.:D
3. Continuing from this... I now have a shelf in my sitting room arts and crafts cupboard full of stationery items. It's really good doing this properly because the sorting and decluttering will get easier and easier as I have proper places to put things. I've also found lots of recycled padded envelopes along the way so have some I can reuse for bookselling. Trying to keep costs down is sooo much easier when you can find the stuff you know you have got stashed away somewhere!:D
4. Enjoying watching 'Call the Midwife' on iplayer tonight.
5. Used last night's mash to make some very tasty mackerel and sweetcorn fish cakes tonight for supper.
Sweet dreams

Sparrer- that sounds like such a perfect dayDid a reverbe and spotted 20p in a large puddle . OH didn't think I would get it ,but the roadkill pot needs it and I will round up what is already in there and send it to a worthy horse charity, I think
:A xx0 -
1.Had rained overnight, much needed by gardens.
2.Work was fine, an extra 2 hours....I was counting up my wages as the hours passed.
3.Took 5 bags of clothes/old hiking boots to charity shop, bag of school uniforms to old neighbour.
4.Watched Casualty (eventually took ages to download)
5.Not quite a NSD as I wanted a packet of crisps!0 -
VJsmum - had to laugh at your OH's dream
And that sounded like a lovely day in the hills.
Broomstick - you are always so organised! I find your posts very inspiring!
Yesterday's:
1. Had loooong lie in with no alarm clock
2. Did the big garden birdwatch (that RSPB were running). It felt so nice to sit and relax in front of the French windows and watch the birds for a whole hour without feeling guilty I should be doing something else. All the starlings that normally come and visit didn't show up, nor did the robin until the last minute but I didn't know we had so many coal tits!
3. Finished my book on Rwanda (harrowing!!) and started reading a lighter fiction book. Phew!
4. HM veg soup and bread for tea
5. Birdsong - I cried my eyes out! Kind of ruined by my OH fussing and staring at me and asking if I was OK and he was worried about me, which was nice, but I just wanted to let myself go and have a great wail but had to keep it in as he wouldn't stop going on about it!
Have a great day all x0 -
Hi all
my 5 so far today
1. hen house being delivered this afternoon. YAYYYYYYYYYY its too exciting.
2. Watched Call the Midwife on iplayer. its soooo good
3. DH made sure the coal bunker is topped up and the log store full;they are giving really cold weather later this week
4. the trees have a dusting of snow/frost and look gorgeous
5. delicious left over fish pie for lunch just needed heating through.
re Birdsong. I can t get on with it at all;find it tedious;boring;annoying and terribly slow. We won't be watching part 2 on iplayer.0
