Purple Kitten - fab news, so thrilled for you
VJsmum- sorry to hear that :cuddle: Thinking of you xx
Millie - your posts kill me xx I think if you and I met we would create havoc.;)The world would never be quite the same again :rotfl:
Yay- let's do it!!!Have just ordered a smart new super duper large hen house! Cant wait for it to arrive next week.
FabI can't wait to have chickens!!
Mine for the past day or so...
1. Experiment that the students did earlier in the week worked- we got the results and discussed them yesterday. What a relief!!
2. Finished work at lunchtime yesterday- came home and mum had done me a lovely big salad for lunch
3. Out with OH last night to a bargain comedy night- the acts were very funny- amongst the best we have seen. He also treated me to a cocktail. We were v late back (for this early bird), but it was such a relaxing night
4. Early start this morning, Oldie was confined to her bedroom because of the frost and was an absolute flipping nightmare- making a din, dragging her rugs off the door, doing her best crocodile expression and snapping at anyone who went near her. In the end, I let her out for 5 min grazing by the muckheap, where it had thawed. She went quiet..too quiet and Dad went to investigate and found her eating the seed off the bird table- she doesn't miss a flipping trick!!
5. Nothing planned for today- OH is away for the weekend doing boysport things, so I might just have a lazy day, with my beads, GSD and back to back One Foot in the Grave and the Good Life...bliss
Happy Saturday, lovely Peeps! Hugs to anyone in needxx

Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. Bit of a lie in then a cup of tea made by DD, bliss
2. Weekly food shop done a day early to take advantage of a money off voucher and to ensure I got another one for next week. Even without the voucher would have come in under budget so very pleased especially as DD needs another A3 sketch book this week.
3. Cooked bacon, sausage, beans and hash browns with toast at lunch time which went down very well. Hash browns were hiding in the freezer so that is another space in the freezer.
4. Text to day I have been accepted on a survey trial for pizza so free pizza for night this week plus friend called to ask if wanted to do a market research on liqueurs which will pay £50
5. Looking forward to a nice long soak in the bath and an early night.
Hugs to all who need them.0 -
Tealady - wish I had a friend like yours! Tasting liqueurs and being paid for it - wow!0

Evening all.
I'm afraid I'm very low on pleasures today - it really hasn't been a good day.(My leak still hasn't been fixed, I'm freezing as I've had to have the windows open all day to try and deal with the resulting condensation, my replacement stereo has the same fault as the original and so will have to go back, and I'm really struggling with my OU essay because my concentration's shot at the moment - I've emailed my tutor to ask for an extension, but I don't know what I'll do if he says no (except cry
)). Apologies - self-pitying whine over.
ETA - nice tutor has granted me an extension to the deadline. :A
1) A good day for football, my team, my sister's team, and my BIL's team all won. :j
2) Braised sausages and lentils for dinner (well, it will be if I go and get cooking, anyway).
3) I'm going to react to my current stress in an immature but enjoyable fashion by opening a bottle of wine. My excuse is that the braised sausages taste much better with a generous splash of wine in the sauce.
Sadly, I think that's about it.
Tealady - you definitely get more interesting product trials than I do!
Millie + Chickenopolis = :eek::eek::eek:. But in a good way.Back after a very long break!0 -
Millie + Chickenopolis + CCP =    and
CCP- Sorry to hear that your day has been a bit pants :cuddle: What is your OU course on? (sorry if you have mentioned this before, I have the memory of the average goldfish!!) You are not self-pitying, we all need to offload at times and this is a supportive place to do it (counselling session over...), I have just put a bottle of red on the radiator to warm- I never seem to get this quite right, still I like mulled wine - hehe!
Tealady - woo- lucky you
V v tired tonight, even had a cheeky nanosnooze earlier, but I think it might have made me more tired!! A few more for today for me:
1. Went to the local farm shop (for local people- :snigger: ) and bought some local produce! Also bought some nets of apples and carrots for the monsters and once again, they look perfectly fit for human consumption, so I might have to snaffle some. Bad mummy!
2. Made two necklaces to sell on facebook for my friend's horsey charity (charity is Equine Market Watch and they do amazing work, but being a smaller charity, they are forever struggling and often face closure) I used to make quite a lot of stuff for them, but lost my mojo a while back, but I am looking forward to getting my mojo back and making some more.... ETA they have both sold in a matter of minutes since Elaine advertised them
3. Off now to phone Ponycarer for a catch up- we can chat and giggle for ages about nothing
Ampersand- are you ok? You are very quiet! xx
Hug to anyone in need xx0 -

It's a scary thought, isn't it, that probably goes for everyone on this thread. Watch out world if the OS Pleasures girls ever get together!
My course is an introduction to world religions - it's quite interesting, which is a good thing as I'm only doing it to take advantage of an offer where I get a lower fee next year - I don't get any credit for it.
I'm fond of mulled wine, too, particularly the way my DF makes it (heat wine with spices, add chopped orange and a splash of orange juice, then add a splash of brandy, a splash of brandy, and another generous splash of brandy for luck. Hic!).Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all...
I'm all snuffly and snotty still so have been confined to barracks for the day.
1) NSD and NPD
2) Reading my favourite book which I have read many many times but it always makeS me smile
3) Porridge for brekkie
4) Laughing at the kitty. He is such a sweetie pie
5) Afternoon nap
Night nightMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

Oooh, sounds fascinating! I have half a psychology degree with the OU (yes, half a psychology degree - as one does :rotfl:) and I have always been impressed with them as an organisation. Lots of luck with it, I hope your tutor gives you an extension, so that you can do your coursework to the very best of your ability0 -

Well , I have nothing further to add to the above ^ :rotfl::D
Millie - Love the local shop for local people comment. The League of Gentlemen :rotfl:, the Good Life and To the Manor Born box sets adorn my dusty shelves..Alas I have to watch them alone as OH does not have a sense of humour !
CCP - ((hugs)) to you - I am sure that you will pull the essay out of the hat x
VJsMum - I have been thinking about you and your Dad. It is so tough , I am sorry . It is never far from your mind even when you are engrossed in other stuff x
Tealady - £50 !!:rotfl:Blimey . You may need to change the "Tea" part of your name
5 for today
1. Had my hair cut , it is cut in a short bob and today the hairdresser used the clippers on the back of it. Feels odd , as this is where my scar is and the last time I had my hair shaved was for the op. on my brain box .Stil it feels nice and spikey , like a freshly clipped horse.
2. My "local bank for local people" was open on a Saturday , to my surprise. Banked some change . I "save" 50p's and have been doing so since Jan. 2010 for my brothers 50th Birthday which is next year . I have £160 saved so far , which I tell him each time I see him as I can't keep any secrets
3.Two lots of washing dried on the line - one lot was towels and sheets. Nice clean bedding to look forward to tonight.
4. Lentil dahl and curry for tea.
5.Telling my neice that she is a little poser judging by her pictures on FB , and that I have no idea where/who she has inherited this from :rotfl:
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
