stupid computer.... ate my postMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

Evening
thank you all for the comments for DD she really is so much happier at school at the moment.
Frith - Really do hope you feel better and take it easy
Chicken - Well done on winning at the races sounds like you had a great day.
Pleasures for today -
1. PK's news, it nearly made me cheer but as I was at work and the boss was approaching my desk thought better of it.
2. Friend bought me lunch at the pub, she reckons I am a cheap date as had a ham & cheese toasted sandwich and a soda water. They don't charge for soda water :money:
3. Setting up my friend J's new computer for her. Found her a mouse and laptop bag in the store cupboard at work so she didn't have to buy them. She leaves on Tuesday and am so going to miss having her in the office.
4. Stuck to the meal plan for the whole week. More emptying of the freezer, OH and I had lamb shanks and DD had salmon and pasta.
5. More books to the charity shop and another bag of carp in the bin.
6. Nice chat on the phone tonight with the DB3 and also with my mum.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
stupid computer.... ate my post
and mine
so, as i was saying, I am worried about dad whose condition seems to be worsening and have gone to bed with lappy as I can't stop shivering - cold and anxiety I think.
Anyway for today
1, a soak in bath as I didn't need to rush around to get DS off to school as he was going to the dentist - DD is never as much bother
2. DS now has a new front tooth
3. lunch with friends and a chance to off load - they put my mind at rest a little
4. choc clares chinese chicken for tea - never had it before and it went down a storm
5. Got £8 odd off my petrol with a Mr S voucher
Fantastic news PK :T
Hugs to all in need.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
purple kitten : well done you & Mr PK, you deserve it! I admire that you have been going through all that tremendous stress & worry but you can still see simple pleasures. You can look forward to your new job now without having to worry about everything else.
Mr Murray didn't win but he played long & hard! Was still 28o at late o'clock!
Almost Saturday scone time so had better get off computer!0 -

Hugs to you, VJsmum and all that need them.
Mhagster, good luck with trying more NSDs. I'm a real convert now since they seem to be working for me. I've been sticking a coloured dot on the calendar each time I achieve another one and since the calendar faces the bottom of the stairs I see it multiple times a day so it is very, very motivating. I think I've struck lucky and found something that really fits.
Onto today's pleasures:
1. PK's news is definitely top of my list too. That was so lovely and you so deserve it. Made me grin.:D
2. Sitting in the car and working this morning while I waited for the DSs. I had a coffee with me in my thermal mug and a yoghurt and apple and the sun was shining and I put Classic FM on. Very happy.
3. Another NSD.
4. Getting snuggles or hugs from both sons today - unheard of atm from DS1 and infrequent from DS2 - so that was a treat.
5. Going and having a look at a hall we hadn't seen before where we might be able to run some sports sessions for younger children. We stopped off on spec and it was all locked up but the caretaker happened to be driving by and stopped to talk to us then opened up and showed us around. It's a really lovely building and we think we might be able to set something up there.
PK, am still grinning.:D
Sleep well,

1. Still high on PK's new, it's so well deserved
2. A beautiful day, dried a load of washing in the fresh air
3. Bought a jacket and a top from M@t@l@n reduced rails, both same size. Got them home and one's too big, the other is too small so have to go back tomorrow, when DGD2 and I will do some 'browsing'. She's one of the reasons I'm MS/OS, I like to treat her a little (?) when she comes to stay
4. Hustle
5. Good chat on the phone with a friend, we both had some petty issues (with other people) and felt better once we'd had a bit of a moan about them. So pleased to call her a friend
Sweet dreams

been a hottie again today, 35o and is now a cool (?) 29o....so still rather warm
1.A real pleasure in reading Purple Kitten's good news. I know we don't know each other in real life but we are here everyday sharing our ups & downs & it is so good to hear someone who has been struggling get such positive news.
2.Up early , phoned my mum & had a good chat with her. Pottered around until time to head out.
3.Busy day to-ing & fro-ing, it has certainly not been a NSD however.....went to estate agent (2 towns away)to hand in the condition report for new house, had a lovely Saturday scone in a new to us cafe in that town , then had to go & get school books. Had to pay full price for them ,however, we have managed to get all 3 kids books for half of original total (if all bought new), then we had to go & pick up a school dress I had ordered for DS1( but had already paid for) then we went to normal town where we shop & had a free coffee (loyalty card ) for OH , I had water & a read at the paper! Did big Aldi shop & then other supermarket. So fridge & freezer all topped up for the week. Should not need to buy anymore (maybe fruit later in week). Then we had to go & get my prescription & DD2 had her eyes tested & new glasses ordered. Eye check is free but glasses cost heap big money & to get her very strong prescription thinned down cost more than glasses do! we do have health insurance so hope we can claim it all back. So hoping I can have at least 3 NSD's this week.
4. Home & the chicken (RTC) had cooked beautifully in my new "I really do work" oven, made absolutely delicious gooey chocolate & cream cheese cupcakes & banana & sultana muffins, also rather more-ish (ooops I had more!) Had chicken with salad & RTC Turkish bread. Very tasty.
5.Going to just chillax this evening, we've had a rather hectic couple of weeks so looking forward to an evening of nothing much!
Enjoy your weekend0 -
Just had to stop by with a little extra.
Last night I got round to reading Martin's Guide on money for teenagers and realised that my two already know most of what he's written by just living around me.
I'm on my own today because they are both out for the day so I am going to spend it doing a massive amount of paperwork and filing. I can spread myself all over the sitting room.
I woke later than both of them and couldn't work out what the cooking smell was that was emanating from the kitchen. Turned out that DS1 had made HM popcorn: a bag for his brother to take on the train and lots for himself and his friend because they are going to see a film this afternoon. 'I'm not going to spend £4 on the bought stuff when I can make this for a few pence,' he said. Talk about being organised! I just hope the cinema doesn't notice because real popcorn smells so much better than bought. :rotfl:
Have lovely Saturdays.

1. PK's great news is definitely my number 1 too
2. another No Spend Day, yippee!
3. OH is here, hoorah!!
4. DD had a great dance lesson and I had a great chat with one or two dance mummy chums
5. Made yummy (from a packet) gluten-free dairy-free brownies for pud last night. We all love them, so OH doesn't get to be a piggie0
