    1. NSD - woohoo, I've managed 15 this month :)

    2. Had a nice chat with the estate agent whilst we waited for my buyer's surveyor to come and faff about with a (hopefully) non-existent problem with the guttering and downpipe. Now we have to wait for them to send out a drainage expert to see if there really is a problem, but I'm sure as heck not paying for it!

    3. Lovely chats with OH on the phone, seeing him tomorrow, yay! :)

    4. Did the school run with a chum, so we got to chat whilst the children did too

    5. Popped into the village library and had a good chat with our lovely librarians and took out a couple of interesting books

    6. Looking forward to dinner out tonight with my group
  • Further to our Asda trip last night, I cancelled my M&S order as I picked up a work outfit from George very cheaply, had a long conversation about how the quality may not be as good, but at the moment I could do with less outlay. And I’ve dropped a little weight, I tend to lose weight when stressed up and the house / court case certainly succeeded in that, not a diet I’d recommend.

We took a scenic drive to the vets stopped and had some sandwiches we picked up on throw out, lovely for 10p each, not so nice if they’d been full price.
Took a ferret to the vets she’s all fine, and she has less on her mind now then hormones.
Had an amble around the town centre, bought some cloth half price.
Came home and made a seafood salad and a cuppa.
Looking forward to doing very little tonight
  • Good evening all !!

sparrer- re parrot chaos :rotfl:I love it really , especially when it winds my sister up shouting "Mum !" and she thinks its one of her stroppy teenagers .Your will power is virtually intact - well done for not eating the Tim Tams !

Mhagster - gosh , the things that we don't mention by name on this thread sound scarey  ( I don't mean Voldemort) I would probably run through a plate glass window if I saw one of the "ones" that you described .

    5 for today

    1. OH "made" ( from a tube) some croissants and I ate 3 of them in bed this morning :)

    2. Old hen enjoyed her melon this morning after having a syringe full of Baytril. Kittikins you can come round for grapes and melon anytime :)

    3. Made some muffins as I needed to use up an egg I found that had a cracked shell but was otherwise intact in the hen coop.

    4. Just got back from having an "early bird" ( sorry sparrer ) type meal . It was so awful it was funny:)

    5. Had a lazy day ( well I am on holiday :D) and watched Breakfast at Tiffany's for the first time all the way through. Not impressed by the bit where she dumps her ginger cat out of the taxi in the rain, but the film is a classic none the less :D

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Evening Ladies,

I have a cold... So keep away from my cyber germs. Besides feeling rubbish I have had quite a good day :)

    1) Boss clearly has been reading this and has recognised that I have been feeling unloved. I had received a lovely email from our client who I presented to yesterday saying how good my presentation was. I sent that straight onto the boss who wrote back, copying in the big boss how fabulous the feedback was and how much he really appreciates me and all my hard work, he's. Back in my good books for the time being.

    2) Paid in a survey cheque to the bank. Pity that it didn't even cover the libarary fine I discovered I had today... £7.80!! All because I thought my books were due back this week, not last week! EEK!

    3) Gorgeous, huge veggie curry for lunch. Nom nom nom!

    4) Yummy carrot soup for supper i- followed by yummy HM biscuits

    5) Office grump was very cheerful today. He sits opposite me and there was some banter.

    6) Bit of a sad one, the guy who sits next to me's beloved cat died a little while ago and he has given me all of her old things for my boy.

    Night night

Re Parrot (Bobby)- he was a little &*%$! He hated me, really hated me and I used to feed him, clean him out, give him yummy treats, yet every time I walked past his cage, he would launch at me! At the time, we lived with the in laws, in an apartment above their city centre pub and the parrot had the run of the place, if he chose to, most of the time he would sit in his cage, spitting bile in my direction. One memorable time, I was in our bedroom, drying my hair and the dog shot in and hid under the dressing table, closely followed by the flipping parrot in full attack mode, He was just about to attack either me or the dog, so my only option was to blast him with the hairdryer and run into MIL's bedroom and phone down for her to rescue us!

He was famous locally where they used to live as they had a pub there too and he lived in the restaurant bit as a bit of a "feature". He used to mimic everything; voices, noises and OH's grandad's cough (he had COPD). One day, the RSPCA rocked up and said that they had had a complaint from a member of the public that the parrot was suffering from passive smoking because they had heard him "coughing"- that made the Daily Mail!

The only thing he wouldn't copy was OH - trying to teach him for 20-odd years to say "Bobby is a b******" :D:D

    Mine for today

    1. Day off work!! Got up early and prep'd dinner (steak and stilton pie and red cabbage a la Leith). Also made cupcakes for Mum's friend for her birthday and some for friends of MIL, who are in their 90s and love my cakes - bless 'em!
    2. Day with my mummy- we went to see her birthday friend for a cup of tea and cupcake handover, then headed off into town
    3. Was treated to lunch :fat: and a pair of uber cute shoes from Office, so a cheap day for me :D
    4. Huge food baby, so salad for dinner, with some random, yummy RTC jalapenos in breadcrumbs stuffed with cream cheese from M&S
    5. OH has just announced that we are going out to a comedy night tomorrow- he'd bought the tickets waaay back and forgotten about it! So I have to go to work, come home and shove ponies in their bedrooms, quick shower and change and zoom off back into town! Busy, busy!! Then it's the weekend!!!
cheeky 6. Victoria Wood thing on TV now :D Love her!

Hugs to anyone in need xx
  • Evening everyone, here's my random musings about the day and the pleasures I've had. Here goes:

    1. A nice HOT bath. My toes feel all curly warm. Mmmm...
    2. I made sweet & sour turkey for tea and it was absolutely beautiful. Seeing Mr Kitchenbunny licking the plate was some lovely soulbalm.
    3. I've got my mealplan and shopping list all sorted and feel ready to face the Grocery Challenge next week. Might even finish a month!
    4. I found Morrisons M Savers caramel wafer biscuits are actually surprisingly tasty. :)
    5. Sitting down watching TV and eating HM breakfast bars :D

Hope everyone has a nice evening (((hugs))) to the poorly ones and those in need of one. :)

    KB xx

    Evening

Feeling a bit urgh tonight, have had a headache all day not sure if hormonal or not but anyway enough moaning.

    Pleasures for today.
    1. £3 of Luncheon vouchers in the post today from a survey and did another survey today so another £3 on its way :money:
    2. Boss happy that I suggested he have breakfast at his meeting today rather than lunch at the end. Went down very well and I got to have a yummy free breakfast as well and didn't have to sit in the meeting.
    3. Got matched funding from work today for some charity bits we did at Christmas so another £150 for the NSPCC and a small amount of £16 for the Rainbow Trust but sure it all helps.
    4. Meet up with some friends today for lunch and had some interesting chats which may put me back in contact with someone I used to work with years ago so fingers crossed we are talking about the same person.
    5. DD parents evening tonight which was really quite positive. She is working really hard at the moment and will hopefully get the results she needs to get into college. She resat her English mock on Monday and got a C which she was so happy with (in fact so happy she cried). This is excellent for her as is severe dyslexic so pleased for her.
    6. Even though late back due to parents evening my organisation paid off and threw together a tasty dinner really quickly.

hugs to all who need them, off to my bed now

Evening all! Hugs to anyone still feeling poorly.

    Mine for today:

    1. Last night's pep talk worked - for today anyway - got up early, did housework, typing practice, Spanish practice and weights and abs cruncher mini workout and went to the shop all before 9am.

    2. Getting the Daily Mirror £5 off a £30 ALdi shop voucher. That'll be great for February's grocery shop.

    3. Another two viewings on the house, with some good feedback - everyone seems to like my kitchen :D. No offers as yet, but then it only went on the market on Tuesday.

    4. Getting back to working on editing my novel, after a period of procrastination. Did loads on it today.

    5. Lots of cuddles with Fudge - she has been very clingy today and I have had to endure plenty of smelly cat breath :(.

    6. Chatting on Facebook with a friend.

    7. Getting a nice email about a short story I wrote ages ago, as well as an email from my American friend who is wintering in Spain.

    8. Making another loaf of bread - timed to be baking as a couple was being shown around my house, hopefully enticing them with the lovely smell!

    9. A NPD and nearly a NSD - only £1.10 spent.

    10. Enjoying a walk in the sunshine this afternoon and checking out a new wholefood shop nearby.

Enjoy the rest of your evening, everyone.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    Evening all.:)

    My five pleasures for Thursday:

    1. A glorious afternoon, like a slightly chilly version of a mid-summer day. I was able to sit on my bed with the windows wide open and read the paper in the sunshine (followed by a ten minute horizontal sleet? snow? flurry on the drive home this evening which was extraordinary and unexpected:eek: There'd been no hint of this on the Met Office website earlier in the day. The pleasure in this one is that it was such a surprise and so short-lived.:))

    2. A really lovely stirfry tonight with onions, leeks, carrots, broccoli, shredded spring greens, ginger, tofu, tamari and omelette strips, and egg noodles for the DSs and rice for me. Yummy.

    3. Wrote out the meal plan for the week for all the meals each day on the noticeboard in the kitchen together with a list of the snacks the DSs can have/raid/eat guilt free if they are starving in between meals. I'm fed up of DS2 saying there's nothing to eat and there is!:D

    4. Another NSD. :D

    5. A good natter with a couple of other mums at the sports session this evening.

    Sleep well,

    B x

PS Tealady, big congratulations to your DD :T
