Will try and find 5 for yesterday. Still ridiculously ill, it's making me grumpy now.

    1) Managed school run without fainting.

    2) Pretty much on top of housework.

    3) Took bigger son to the nurse and his foot has 3 more weeks to heal before they will be worried. (He jumped off a shed...)

    4) Spoke to headteacher about smaller son's classteacher not putting in place the strategies we had all agreed on at his SEN meeting. (Well, i didn't phrase it quite that bluntly! She does seem to have a really sulky attitude, though). Waited for his daily book to come home (she won't fill it in....) - and it didn't - AGAIN!

    5) Texts from OH.

    6) Dad brought me a ready meal for my tea.

    7) Temperature only 38.4, an improvement on the 40 it reached on Saturday.

    8) Watched Holby City.

That's all for now! Going to try and do all the little jobs now then can have another lie down. Supposed to be seeing the counsellor tomorrow and am worried cancelling would make me look as though I don't dare to go! Not even sure I could drive there at the moment.

amazing how a cooler day, no to-ing & fro-ing being houses & getting paid can lift ones spirits!

1.Very early start to my day. OH had to be at airport early so I woke up when he did. Watched casualty, phoned my friend from home, did a washing & pottered about & then realised....oops I'd better go to work! Just made it bang on time (I'm always early) Did 1.5 hours extra today.

2.being given staff discount from one of my customers shops & getting 25% off cinema tickets which I bought for the kids, it was very kind of him to do this for me & much appreciated.

3.Making the decision that I wasn't humphing stuff from one house to the other and having a night off! We have another 2 weeks of lease on old house so no need to be out other than we want to get it all done! So came home then walked all 3 minutes to our wee town & had a mooch around Charity shop. Got a few things for girls & great niece .....after hanging all my clothes up in a much smaller wardrobe last night I realised I didn't need the very pretty skirt and put it back!

4.I am just so tired, so had a wee snooze! Then lay on bed & enjoyed watching the wind blow through the trees outside our house. Last house had a window at side that looked onto a fence! I now look onto a beautiful garden.

5.Tomorrow we have a day off for Australia Day, hurrah! We will be moving more things but looking forward to having a bit of a lie in. Today is Burn's Day, one of my customer's emailed a joke to my friend ,for me. She printed it off & brought it into work. I then showed a few of my Scottish customers who appreciated the humour. It was nice to share that with them. My Australian colleagues had never heard of Rabbie Burns.

Hope you all have a lovely day x

Happy Burns Night Mhagster - I will be partaking in haggis neeps and tatties :) (and my English colleague had never even heard of Rabbie Burns!!)

Well, Frith I can sympathise as I am still ill too. I don't have a temperature but I feel all achey and wiped out, and chest rattling like I don't know what. Hope we feel better very soon!

    Yesterday's:

    1. Another day in bed. So another day of reading. Although I am reading a book on the 1994 Rwandan genocide so not exactly uplifting, and extremely horrifying. Still, I refuse to look at another book until I have finished the one I'm reading!

    2. Found out I could potentially claim some tax back for heating, as I work from home. Will look into this as could be quite a windfall.

    3. Watched Birdsong recorded from Sunday, and looking forward to the next one

    4. Facebook was alive with all my (local) friends talking about how they could see the Northern Lights. I had a wee look round the house last night but sadly couldn't see anything.

    5. Spent some time filling out surveys for a bit of extra cash

    Hi Frith,

I promise that nobody except the most hardcore psychoanalytic counsellor would think that :cuddle: speaking from experience as both a counsellor and as a client, if you are not well, it is difficult to remain "present" in the therapy (god knows counselling is hard work when you are feeling 100%). Your counsellor won't mind if you cancel this session, like the counselling, it is just a way of taking care of yourself

Hope you are feeling much better soon xx

and hugs and get well vibes to all of the other poorly peeps xx
  • So many poorly with bugs, hope you are all rested under duvets.

I don’t like missing a day as my memory is daft, I think I may try and learn to write in a journal each day to make it habit.
    Yesterday,
Morning spent sorting out contracts and paperwork, not a pleasure until it’s done and dusted.
Made a seafood salad which was lovely.
Showing MIL around her laptop and facebook
Went to see the in laws who were on such good form we didn’t get back until 2am today.

    Today so far
A lovely lay in as feeling a bit poorly, followed by a big cuppa.
The electric and gas bill is under by over half of what I expected – whoo hooo hopefully the things we have done to save it are working, I am sure the mild winter helped.
Paying in a council tax refund cheque, and picking up a doctor’s prescription
Making my way steadily through the piles of washing that I seem to be behind on again 2 done - 4 loads to go:eek:

Looking forward to popping to Asda later for a lite shop

    2. Horses stabled tonight and stuffing in their hay at a good rate of knots! weathers been horrid here today a nasty south east wind is blowing.
    3. Delicious cheese and onion omlette for lunch with watercress.
    4. cup of tea and a chat with a friend.
    5. going to light the fire in a minute and get snuggled on the sofa for the evening.
(((((((hugs))))))) to anyone who needs them.

oldtractor - I wish some battery hens would make it to mine to be rescued. I've pleaded with my OH for us to get some hens but he's not having any of it :( I love reading the hen stories on here. Anyway, so glad she's safe now :)
