Good evening all!
ninnoodle and frith - ((HUGS)) to you both x
KB -glad to hear that you are mentally slotting things in to place.
oldtractor - ooh do tell us what you are planning to grow. I am curious x Sounds as if your youngsters are a fine pair . I think that if the groundwork is carried out slowly and carefully you can't really go wrong, particularly if you are a quiet , patient type of person ,which it sounds as if you are??
millie - glad to hear that "orange 2's" eye has settled down. We had a 2yr old that lost her sight in her left eye during the storm of '87 , when the stable roof blew off
CCP -purely the filthy lucre -knocked off the price of the table x
5 for today
1. Went to the local auction which is in the same locality as the animal feed store. It was raining hard and I was so cold that my gums felt freezing cold :rotfl:Not much to see at the auction , but glad that I did not see a kitchen table better or cheaper than mine as that would have really peed me off
2. Animal feed purchased and nearly got side tracked by some lovely Harris tweed riding gloves which fitted me like err ... gloves. As I am forbidden to go near a horse ("if you fall off I will break your neck myself") by my Neorosurgeon , I thought it was better to put them back on the shelf and save the cash.
3. Went to our local shopping centre and on the off chance took part in a survey for people over the age of 40. It was just to read through a medication leaflet and then being asked questions about the content . OH and I got a £10 Boo*s gift card each for taking part.
4. My table was delivered but would not fit through any of our doors:mad: It is next door at my Mums house in her conservatory ( where it went in with ease ) as OH will take the top off of it slowly and carefully tomorrow in daylight. I am still in love with it and always will be, but don't like being "teased" :rotfl:
5. Had an rtc curry for tea , which we ate sitting up at the work top as we had taken our other table apart . The chair was really low and the worktops are very high and I felt about 5 years old !:)
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
I blame you lot, for all the shoe talk over the past few days. I popped into town at lunchtime for a speculative look for a new pair of work shoes - which I need - for when I get paid next week, and walked out with a new pair of furry black boots which I emphatically did not need - but they were so nice, and so comfy, and such a bargain (£90 reduced to £27 :money:) that I couldn't resist them.
Sadly that was about the highlight of my day - I'm feeling tired and sad this evening, for no real reason that I can put my finger on (although stress has probably got a lot to do with it - I got very cross with another department at work today, then wondered why, as getting angry with them is like being angry with a cat - it just raises your blood pressure and has no effect at all on the object of your frustration :rotfl:).
1) My new boots being admired by all and sundry back in the office.
2) A naughty treat of a bag of crisps to go with my lunch - I love salt and vinegar crisps, but don't like to indulge too often as they're not the healthiest of things.
3) Veg stew with feta muffin topping for dinner tonight - I hope it's as good as it sounds.
That's about it, I'm afraid - Ill try to be a bit more cheerful by tomorrow.
Frith and ninnoodle - get well now, both of you!
Ladyhawk - I hope you managed to survive your trip into the wilds.Back after a very long break!0 -
CCP - ((hugs)) to you x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0

Wow - an emu!!!! :T Really did not want to go to work this morning but glad i did as I had a lovely day:D
1. My new undergraduate class - just my sort of students, cheeky and funny without being rude
2. lesson went really well - even I thought I knew what i was talking about! :rotfl:
3. Dad is now saying he is fed up - he must be feeling better
4. Yummy freezer sausage pasta and HM rich tom sauce for tea - lovely combination
5. My first quidco payment has come through.
A cheeky
6. Watchng story of musicals with DDI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
millie - glad to hear that "orange 2's" eye has settled down. We had a 2yr old that lost her sight in her left eye during the storm of '87 , when the stable roof blew off
Oh no, that sounds awful
Animal feed purchased and nearly got side tracked by some lovely Harris tweed riding gloves which fitted me like err ... gloves. As I am forbidden to go near a horse ("if you fall off I will break your neck myself") by my Neorosurgeon , I thought it was better to put them back on the shelf and save the cash.I didn't realise that you didn't ride on Dr's orders :cuddle: I keep seeing lovely saddle cloths, bandages, boots and other assorted ponywear, but have to remind myself that I have nothing rideable atm. Love Harris tweed though, I used to have one of their jackets for WHP/SHP when I was little. Kept it til a few years back. That and my little canary jodhs and brown, square-toed joddie boots
I am soooo tired tonight, long couple of days at work and stuff to catch up on when I got home. Mine for today
1. Woke up before my alarm (6am) so was v v early for work again. Found one of the cleaner's ID cards on the way in, in the middle of a random road. I took it to her supervisor and she got feedback that she was thrilled, as she thought she was going to get charged £20 for a replacement
2. OH was off work with a touch of manflu and while this is not a pleasure per se and definitely not OS or MSE as he inhaled half of the food in the fridge, it did mean that I didn't have to worry about Divadog (we were meant to be doing shifts and dashing home from work in our lunch hours as the 'rents are away)
3. Nice visit this afternoon from one of my colleagues- he only works downstairs and we used to share an office, but I don't see nearly enough of him. He raided my office choc supply and we arranged a night out with other colleagues for next week. We were then randomly joined by another colleague who used to work with us, who was also invited on said night out and who also raided my chocolates (cupboard love!!)
4. Got home to find a beady package I had ordered from fleabay, containing, amongst other things, some owl pendants and mare and foal charms. Cute. Also waiting for me was a pressie from best mate: a "keep calm..." mobile phone case. Fab!
5. The 'rents are back from the Lakes tomorrow, so GSD will have her staff back and I will be semi off the hook. She is such a diva, but really she is just an old lady who likes her little routine, bless her
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
Evening all,
I am back from deepest darkest Wiltshire. The drive there was yucky... Lots of trucks and lots of rain. The meeting was ok but my presentation left lots to be desired. I also fell out with one of our sales team for him trying to bully me into doing something I didn't want to do and which I told him 6 weeks ago I wasn't prepared to do. We came to a compromise.
1) Nsd
2) The meeting wasn't as bad as I feared
3) Spilt shoe polish on the carpet and on my duvet cover. The pleasure is that the duvet cover is an old one which needs to be made into something else anyway and the carpet already has paint on it and is waiting to be replaced anyway. So it is not as much of a drama as it could have been
4) Funny chat on FB with a dear friend of mine. He has a very dry wit that I definitely appreciate. He is also unfailing supportive of all I do.
5) Took my library books back
6) Got a cheque for some surveys I did ages ago
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Hugs CCP, hope tomorrow is a great day, sleep well x
1. Low spend day - spent my M&S credit card freebie £5 and my last £10 voucher and about £5 more, wasn't planning on spending quite so much of my money, but ho hum, it's done and I have some swanky food, great birthday cards, treats for DD and other bits and pieces
2. Had a fab time at Rainbows tonight, we made dragons to celebrate Chinese New Year
3. Lovely chat with my beloved OH on the phone, fingers crossed we'll be going on a date tomorrow afternoon (rather than hanging out at my house or monkeying about with DD)
4. Good day at work
5. Made scrummy quorn biryani for dinner
6. Did a bit of tidying up this evening, more to do as always, but I feel better for it!
Night all x0 -
T'will be a shortie this evening as am in the middle of masses of housework - never stop me when I'm in the mood, it's not a regular occurrence!
ampersand we'll organise something on your return, I'm in Rome over Easter so late April perhaps
Ladyhawk pleased they you escaped back over the border!
Poorlies wishing you well now
1. Got up early and did my bank/pharmacy/post office visits before heading for pulm class. Only visited PO to post a card, I buy my stamps in Superdrug where they're 5% cheaper
2. Had coffee with DD, and a very small slice of carrot cake. Yummmm
3. Travel insurance docs arrived, confirmed the low price with only a small medical excess. All the others I looked at were at least double, have read it through and haven't found a catch. Yet
4. nsd
5. The bunch of carnations I bought rtc 2 weeks ago is still going strong, haven't had to trim any off yet

Morning
CCP - Hugs to you, hope you feel brighter today. Please stop the talk of shoes am trying really hard to resist temptation but it it sooo hard
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Another pile of ironing done before work
2. Bag of books to the charity shop, bag of recycling put out and another bag of carp in the bin.
3. Had to pick DD up from school again yesterday and we seem to have this well timed now so can be home for 6.30. Her school is not the easiest to get to from our house but is by far the best school for her so worth all the effort.
4. Had a mad half hour in the kitchen when got home - bread machine on, sausage and pasta soup cooked for dinner and made a bakewell tart using up the defrosted raspberries that DD had forgotton to use in her cooking today. Plus a quick clean down of the work surfaces.
5. Plotting with my friend J at work what we are going to get for a leaving present for her boss. We don't think there will be much in the collection for him (we have had so many lately plus he is a bit socially inept but once you know him quite funny). He is a bit of a chocolate addict and loves all my moneysaving or tightwad as he calls it so it may be a Thorntons christmas hamper bought in their sale:D
Hugs to all who need them0 -
