KBunny :cuddle: for whatever it is xx
PK - I had no idea how tough things had been for you, you are so brave. Onwards and upwards x

Chicken- they are both orange- 8yo is bright chestnut, oldie used to be brighter chestnut, but had turned more livery chestnut, with sprinkles of grey, as she has got older. Is is the 8yo with the fat eye, but apparently it had gone down lots this am and more again tonight, so will keep her on the bute for another day and see how she is without it. It isn't bothering her in the slightest, thank goodness x

    Mine for today

    1. V early start, was in work by 7ish and stormed through some bits before the rugrats arrived at 9am
    2. Day went like a dream, too well, I was waiting for the disaster to happen, but it didn't!
    3. Nice chat with students, they were in small groups, so I got to chat to them more than I do when they are in a big group together
    4. News that fattybum's eye has gone down :D and news :snigger: that Oldie had a mahoosive spook on the end of the leadrope this morning, at the bonfire. Mrs Ponycarer was laughing so hard she could hardly keep hold of her. She managed to get oldie in her paddock and she just stood there, snorting and flashing the whites of her eyes. Silly mare
    5. Lovely cuddles with GSD when I got home. She is now lying on her bed, gazing at me adoringly..ahhhhhh

    More of the same tomorrow!

Hugs to anyone in need xx

    Good evening, everyone!

Sparrer, I understand what you mean about your aunt's death.
VJsmum - it's good to hear that it wasn't a stroke with your dad. Hope everything gets better from now on.
Kitchenbunny, I hope you manage to resolve whatever is on your mind.
Purple kitten, thanks for updating us about the meeting - glad it went well.

Had a good day today, so I should be able to find lots of pleasures!

    1. Found a couple of things to list on Gumtree and have had enquiries about both of them although no definite interest as yet.
    2. My house isn't even on the market yet but the estate agent has arranged two viewings already for me. Fingers crossed!
    3. Arranging a refund on an unwanted item - a little more in the kitty for me!
    4. Doing a Reverbe and finding 5p.
    5. Walking over to visit my mum, thereby getting some more fresh air and exercise -it's about a 5 mile round trip.
    6. Unleashing my inner domestic goddess and cooking a batch of beanburgers, a pot of soup for lunch and a casserole for the slow cooker.
    7. Doing my typing practice, listening to a new Spanish podcast, doing my scheduled housework and a mini workout with the abs cruncher and hand weights.
    8. Facebook message from a friend who's been out of touch for a while.
    9. Yum! My slow cooker casserole tastes delicious, and my lunchtime soup was lovely too.
    10. Feeling good all day - getting up earlier and dressing first thing rather than having a lie-in and wandering around in my pyjamas definitely means I get more done and feel perkier!

Enjoy the rest of your evening, everyone.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

LadyHawk, I never knew that you could add courgette to chocolate cake, I've just been looking it up and I am curious I will have to try it when I am not feeling lazy, at the moment there is double chocolate ice cream calling my name,,

Oh yes... It ends up as quite a fudgey cake. I don't like chocolate but my greedy colleagues enjoyed it!

Sparrer - May your Aunt rest in peace.

CCP/ Saving for Oz - I regularly threaten my little darling with being made into either mittens or slippers. Kitten mittens have a certain ring to them

    1) Busy day... Was in the office for 7.20 this morning and got loads of personal things done before everyone arrived

    2) Booked my sight test and contact lens test

    3) Wandered into town at lunch time

    4) Chat with my mum this evening

    5) Laughing out loud at a particularly dirty BBM message from a friend. I couldn't quite bring myself to explain it to my rather startled colleagues!

I am off to deepest darkest Wiltshire tomorrow... I really don't want to go :(

    Night night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Ladyhawk, one of my favourite expressions is "Mittens and kittens" :)
  • Ahhh this isn't on, OH and I have been through my wardrobe and agreed I need a new pair of work trousers and new work top, I logged onto M&S, with free delivery and saw a lovely top in the sale and while I was checking out someone else bought it! hurrumpth!

They certainly do. Now all I need is an appropriate rhyme for 'scarf'...
    3. Went out hunting for a dining table to match the one I have in my head :D Found one , it is a thing of beauty, but costly. Figured it would be my farmhouse kitchen table for life . I saw it and I knew that it was THE ONE. OH knocked 20% off and it is also being delivered free tomorrow evening. I wanted them to throw in a Czech glass fish design flower frog in as part of the deal( I think it is called poisson volante??) they wouldn't but I have one already

I assume that's 20% off the price, and not that your OH removed one of the table legs before finalising the deal? ;)

PK - I'm so glad that Shelter were helpful - I really hope everything gets sorted out for you asap.

VJsmum - I hope your DF gets better really soon.

mum2e before you joined us, I think I spoke of these splendid tins[@bonkers £rices]. Bear them in mind please. I'll be Mummy

I want. :) I could really do with a new cake tin as my current one (actually an old Roses chocolates tin) is looking very rusty and past it. Can I justify one of those at the end of the month? I loved the poem too.

I haven't had a great day today - my bathroom sink that caused me so many problems last year has started leaking badly again, I've been feeling very off-colour thanks to a series of heart palpitations (not dangerous, as far as I can tell, but very annoying), and I let good manners get the better of me at work today and let a colleague take the last of a scrummy-looking batch of HM Chelsea buns. I hoped he might offer to share but the selfish so-and-so was adamant that it was his bun and he wasn't giving any of it away.

    1) Exchanging my faulty stereo proved to be very straightforward - good old Arg0s accepted it back without a quibble, and got a new one to me within a couple of minutes. :T

    2) I managed to solve a problem my DM was having with her computer over the phone, so she could finish off a post she was trying to make on this board - I know how annoying it is when you lose a post.

    3) Made a very nice Thai prawn and veg curry for dinner, using a BOGOF jar of sauce, and there's plenty left to freeze for another day.

    4) Watching mog hoover up a small handful of spare prawns. :)

    5) Made a start on my OU essay - I always feel better when I've got something down in writing, even if it's really sketchy.

Have a good evening, all, and I hope anyone feeling unwell / under the weather perks up soon.
Back after a very long break!

Strange day - lots of phone calls and some ups and downs Dad has a urine infection and a minor leg infection - tho brother said his legs are minging. But they have been for some time. He is recovering but seems to have zero mobility and hospital are saying he can never go and live alone again. :( However, he was managing on and before Friday but they obviously didn't see that! It might be for the best in the long run though.

    So, for today

    1. News that dad's medical issues are treatable - the social ones we still have to deal with
    2. Did an inventory of the freezers - so at least I know what is in there. THere are meals to last us a couple of weeks if necessary
    3. Went out for lunch with friend in order to offload
    4. Baked softstuffs mincemeat drops (where is softstuff?)
    5. A chat with brother that i don't speak to often enough but who came up trumps with dad yesterday.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Evening

PK - Glad the meeting went well today and am sure you will be back on track soon

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Made a pan of SPicy Chicken and Vegetable soup this morning. The chicken was some cooked prepacked chicken in the freezer that was not very nice but came out suprisingly well in the soup. Took it into the office to share with a couple of people with the left over HM bread and went down very well.
    2. Getting a lovely thank you card and a small box of chocs of someone from work as a thank you for looking out for her last week when she was feeling unwell. Her boss is a bit of a mare and just ignores things she doesn't want to deal with
    3. Free little box of teabags arrived in the post today
    4. Another bag of rubbish cleared from the house plus more books to the charity shop. Where does it all come from.
    5. Yummy meal plan dinner of Meatballs and pasta.
    6. Bread just come out of the breadmaker and DD wanting to eat it now.
    7. Using a lovely red handbag I got for christmas today. I have a thing about red

Hugs to all who need them
