LadyHawk hope you can rest up, feel better soon.
Sparrer, I love that quote it is so true.

I am in the process of making a full pork roast lunch/ tea with all the trimmings, I hope the roast potatoes crisp up this time.
Curled up on the sofa watching one of the first black and white carry on films all of the actors are so incredibly young.
    NSP / NPD
Watching loads of birds and squirrels on the garden feeders and even saw a woodpecker.

We are worried as we have our meeting with Shelter tomorrow, so gathered all of the paperwork together. The absolute winner I hope is I have a job now and we will be able to make an offer of repayment on the arrears, it’s just if it is accepted I don’t know how it works but I we are about to find out . We will have to fill out the court paperwork tomorrow evening as well. But they are for Monday!

    Evening all.

Frith - I hope you haven't got real flu and get better right now.

CCP the turkey & leek lasagne sounds good, and not too naughty. Please let us know how it was, cos we may need the recipe. I envy you the little bay, I lost mine last year and have some vouchers to get another but not until the weather improves

The lasagne wasn't bad at all, although it needs a few amendments for next time - if nothing else I'll cook the pasta first, as it took an age to cook through and I ended up having a very late dinner. :( I'm lucky enough to have a huge (7' plus) bay tree lurking the corner of my garden, so I'm never short of leaves for casseroles. :)

    1) Mog was being a miaow monster again last night, but as it was Sunday I could have a lie-in to make up for lost sleep. (I keep telling mog that his outer layer would make a fine fur scarf, and that's what he'll be made into if he doesn't stop waking me up in the early hours of the morning by yowling in my ear.)

    2) Finally got round to putting my flat-pack table together - I was amazed at how easy it was.

    3) Changed the bed so I've got nice clean sheets to slip into tonight. (Maybe literally, as my new duvet cover is a satiny material - I've got a nasty mental image of mog jumping on to the bed later and sliding straight off again.)

    4) I've got this for dinner - it's utterly delicious, and not as unhealthy as the recipe suggests if you leave out the roast potatoes and cut back on the cheese.

    5) A pleasantly lazy afternoon watching a bit of snooker and now skiing.

    Have a nice evening, all.

ETA - best wishes for tomorrow, PK - I'll be thinking of you.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all,

Sparrer - good for you considering bungee jumping. I did it when I was 14 and am now petrified of heights.

    1) Popped in to see my DB1 and SIL on my way back from London this morning. I had some lovely cuddles with my gorgeous nephew.

    2) Ticked off loads of things on my to do list.

    3) Clean bedding

    4) Baked a chocolate, courgette and carrot cake. it was supposed to just be chocolate and corgette but I hadn't defrosted enough courgette so I threw in the carrot to make up the difference.

    5) Baked some cheese muffins with some cheese which I didn't like

    6) Did some washing

    7) Finally got round to taking some stuff to the recycling centre

    8) Cuddles with the kitty

    9) Made a batch of carrot soup

    10) Chatted with my friend L on phone

Night all hope you have a great week.

    L

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Frith and the other poorly people, hope you are feeling better v soon xx

PK- :cuddle: and millions of goodvibes xx

Mojo not fully restored here, but can only get better. Not helped my the fact that doofus horse managed to whack her eye (well above her eye) today and it came up like a balloon. Skin intact though and she is happy to let me poke and prod it, so Mrs Ponycarer told me to chillllll, she didn't need a vet today and we have buted her and will see how she is tomorrow. The eye itself looks fine (otherwise it would be a vet job Now!! as I am a bit paranoid about eyes!)

    Will try for 5 today...

    1. Mini lie in, got up at 7.30 and left OH and lazy GSD in bed, pootled around the house in peace and sorted the bunnies, etc
    2. Giggled as very nearly had to drag GSD out of bed (ditto OH), sent them both out to the field for some fresh air and exercise. They were both thrilled. Not!! I cooked breccie..
    3. Sorted out some of my beady stuff, really want to make something, but lacking mojo. Need a project, methinks!! I often make bits for local charities for raffles, sales, etc, but I think it's the wrong time of year. I am thinking about going on a wirework course as I am largely self-taught - this might help me to get my mojo back :D
    4. Was meant to be having the day off hosses, but I was worried about clumsya*se's eye, so I went up to see her this afternoon (via a record spending spree (£30!!) in Home Bargains). Had a chat with Mr and Mrs Ponycarer and Oldie, who was leading Mr Ponycarer a merry dance (snigger), Presented Mrs Ponycarer with a gift of mealworms and marzipan...not to be confused with each other
    5. Lovely OH had run me a bath when I got home, love him :)

Tomorrow is either going to go horribly wrong or very right...as Dr Mille is back in her white coat, for a limited period only. I am going with the former, as with 30 students and toxic chemicals in the balance, the latter does not bear thinking about

    Hugs to anyone in need

    1) Waking up with OH. And also with bigger son, as he wouldn't settle!

    2) Car good on the motorway.

    3) Bigger son spent the afternoon in the kitchen making smoothies, playdoh then our tea. :-)

    4) My friend from school came round.

    5) OH here. :-)

    Good evening all !

Ladyhawk- yes , "your" film did seem quite dated.I do like Reutger , though especially in Blade Runner .

kitchenbunny - Keith Floyd- not everyones cup of tea. You can't think of the 80's without Floyd . But then "celebrity chefs" were not that common then , they are everywhere now.

    frith -get well now !

sparrer - loved the "spirit" of that quote!

    5 for today

    1. Waking up knowing that I would not have the Sunday blues for the next couple of weeks.Tee hee :D

2.OH got the chainsaw out and removed a rotten apple tree stump. This will make more use of the space in the garden, rather than an unsightly hump.He dug the ground over and the hens have now levelled it out for us :)

3.My sister called to say how much she enjoyed last night.

    4. Have been looking on ebay for a second hand, battered about farmhouse dining table that is not too large and does not have polyurathane varnish on it . There is one for sale a few miles away , so I have asked a few questions about it -I know what I am prepared to pay ,so fingers crossed .

    5. Washing part dried on the line, finished off on radiators - despite the ar** who lives at the back lighting an acrid bonfire at 11 am :mad:It is so selfish- he has had one 5 times this year so far , all mid morning . It is because he has a van and will be charged if he takes it down the local tip.We have asked him nicely not to do this as a lot of people have washing out (not just us), but he has chosen to ignore us.What goes around comes around and all x

Have a good evening all !

eta - Millie - I hope the horses eye sorts itself out x

Sparrer - good on you! Life indeed is for living! :)
Mhagster - your house really sounds lovely, and you sound very happy.
PK - best wishes for tomorrow.

I've been holed up with this chest infection all weekend and it's not getting better. Will ring the doctor first thing tomorrow. I was planning to put up lots of things on free ebay listing weekend but have just felt too wiped out to do anything.
    Yesterdays' pleasures:

    1. OH brought me breakfast in bed (before he heard about nightmare tax bill....hopefully an employer mistake but we'll see)

    2. Had a nice long lie-in

    3. Because I was ill, my OH spoiled me with cups of tea all day and making sure I had everything I needed as I lay on the couch!

    4. My OH put up a clothes pulley in the garage. This makes me stupidly happy!

    5. Yummy (veg) sausages n mash for tea
  • Aw Ninnoodle, Glad to hear your other half is looking after you.

LadyHawk, I never knew that you could add courgette to chocolate cake, I've just been looking it up and I am curious I will have to try it when I am not feeling lazy, at the moment there is double chocolate ice cream calling my name,,

Eta: mojo may be creeping back..sloooowly. I just made a card, commissioned by MIL and some earring with handmade lampwork beads that look like humbugs:D no idea what I'm going to do with earrings as I don't really wear them. I'm sure somebody(!) might like them!!

    QUOTE]

I have made similar threats on many occasions but get ignored every time! My new furbaby is very persistent at trying to get me out of my nice warm bed in the mornings....

Purple Kitten, best of luck for tomorrow.

Frith, hope you feel better soon.

Let's see what I can find for today:

    1. Meeting my friend for a look around the M-Shed in Bristol.
    2. Walking into town so getting some fresh air and exercise.
    3. Setting myself a challenge to earn a month's groceries and spending money by whatever means I can (short of selling sexual favours...) - selling on Amazon, etc. I have until the end of February. Been reading the "£10 a day" thread on the Debt-Free-Wannabe board for inspiration.
    4. Getting books from the library including one of Martin Lewis's books.
    5. Doing my housework, exercise, typing and Spanish practice as planned.
    6. Yummy spicy beanburger in the evening. Being organised and soaking more beans to make a fresh batch tomorrow.
    7. Cuddles with Fudge Foster-Cat in afternoon. She is an affectionate girl!
    8. Although I have very few possessions (gave most to charity or a house clearance firm prior to my big trip as I rented out my house unfurnished), I have managed to think of a few things I could sell on Gumtree to help me with the challenge in no 3.
    9. A NSD and a NPD too.
    10. Giving myself a much needed kick up the backside about using my time more effectively and being more proactive.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
