hello from hotsville.....currently 11pm & still 24o , was 37o today
, so very warm hugs to all who are poorly, have poorly family & those feeling a bit sad.
1. Started work early & finished a bit later, an extra 3 hours wages.
2.Home....in 6 minutes! No traffic lights, no hills just loads of mini roundabouts!
3.40 winks (or so) lay on top of bed in such a hot & bothered way
.
4.Back to old house to continue with clearing & packing......all kitchen cupboards washed ,cooker & dishwasher cleaned. DD2's room done! DD1 almost done. We really do have so much stuff.
5.Had to go to a supermarket as we had absolutely no fresh food & can't live on chips forever!
Managed to get some things at decent prices, a few RTC items. Bill wasn't too bad. Got voucher for 8c of a litre of petrol, with shopping, 1 with phone top up then found another one when I returned trolley...I'll have that I thought! Seriously needed petrol but it's expensive just now, so just put enough in to do me the week, will top up when prices come down.
6.Lovely chat with one of my best friends from home, I do miss them so much but chatting helps!
Have a lovely (if cooler) day whatever you're up to...off to bed x0 -
VJsmum- sorry to hear about your dad :cuddle: and do you realise what you have done introducing your son to skiing?? It is probably the most addicitve sport and once you are hooked, there is simply no cure
No seriously, the sooner they learn the better, then they become skiing whizz kids and zoom past the likes of me!
Sparrer :cuddle: I think so many people are reluctant to exrpess the relief associated with such deaths, but they really can generate a sense of peace and release, especially when one has suffered for too long :cuddle: Thinking of you xx
Ampersand, I do love you, your posts never fail to make me smile
Chicken- thanks for the heads up- I love shows like thatOH will be thrilled... not very
Day is going ok so far, have been in since 7am and only just grabbed "breakfast". Back to the lab in a bit. The good thing is that I should be done by 3ish. Huzzah!!
Hugs to all in need xx0 -
vj'smum - much empathy en route with virtual kettle on go as and when.... The phoning that goes with these things can leave you dishcloth wrung out. I'm just back from a lovely walk to village PO with parcels, during which sun blazed out and has stayed. It's beautiful here now. Make sure you come up/go out[means same=appropriate tie-in with poem above] for air thoughout today as you tackle things.

Just popped in to saythe new series of Superscrimpers is on tonight on CH4 @ 8pm x x
:j Thanks Chicken - I've just seen this too - I am weirdly excited! I also still have Birdsong to watch from last night!
Sparrer - hugs to you and your family. I can totally relate to the relief of the end of your aunt's suffering.
VJsmum - sorry to hear about your dad and hope he makes a quick recovery.
Mine for yesterday:
1. Still ill but had made plans with a friend to go for a walk and didn't want to let her down, so we scaled the walk down to a walk from her house to the garden centre
2. Bumped into a friend on the way who I hadn't seen for a while
3. Me and friend had the most delicious afternoon tea. Sandwiches, cakes and loads of tea - lifted the spirits!
4. I had to get some shopping done also, so drove into town to Sainsburys as still had some gift vouchers from last year to use. Also popped into Boots and also got the Clinique mascara - yay! Boots 75% sale was a one-shelf-joke which was good for my purse. Sainsburys is affa dear!!! Haven't been there for years. Got the vouchers from a promotion on here last year where if you signed up to 3 months' life insurance through a cashback company, you got £50 Sainsbugs vouchers back (and then cancelled the life insurance of course!). It was my bargain of the year!
5. OH made me lots of hot toddies last night!0 -
My pleasures for today - though still a bit rough here.
1. Hearing about a new series of Wartime Farm on another thread (happy happy!)
2. My shopping not costing as much as I thought it was going to.
3. Passing on having a choccy bar when I got in and having some dried fruit instead.
4. Joining the A1 OK without feeling forced or stressed (minor miracle!)
5. I feel quite calm.
Have a lovely evening, everyone! I'm feeling rather thoughtful atm so sorry for not being more talkative. I've got a few things weighing on my mind and I need to get myself sorted with them. Take care,

We did not get any sleep last night worrying about today, and it went fine, Shelter were extremely helpful, and they are so so busy. He took the facts, and it’s scarey saying it out loud as it’s a set of circumstances that lead to today, I had a very serious accident a few years ago, it lead to my then employment rolling me to part time and then off completely so loss to total loss of income, we used up our savings I recuperated and got another role, which was quite frankly an awful environment. Which leads us to today. Things are looking up, plans can be made. The only thing is we have to think and negotiate with the lender now so just putting thought into that. We will have to go to court but hopefully on a strong and prepared footing.
:T
We signed up at another warehouse place and popped there today as it was down the road from Shelter, they were so friendly and helpful it was a pleasant surprise
When we got back in I took a pack of bacon and ciabattas out which was lunch for 2 for whole 15p total.
I have a start date through - next week – yikes,:D so that is my excuse to order some work boots half price in the evan’s sale, a big thank you to the fellow MSE’r who messaged me. Wow it’s real I am really chuffed but planning to enjoy this week.:j
We have the court paperwork to do but it is going to have to wait a day until we get some sleep.0 -
Good evening all !
ninoodle- I hope you are feeling better soon x I would be thrilled with the airer in the garage too !
kbunny- yes I saw the War time thread too. Had a quick look at linky and is it just me or have they all aged in a short space of time ? Hope you feel more settled soon x
millie- I hope the eye issue has sorted itself out ? I am not sure if it is oldie or the "orange" one ? or are they both orange ? in my head oldie is a bay/strawberry roan type x
sparrer- ((hugs)) to you.
5 for today
1. On leave .....:)
3. Went out hunting for a dining table to match the one I have in my headFound one , it is a thing of beauty, but costly. Figured it would be my farmhouse kitchen table for life . I saw it and I knew that it was THE ONE. OH knocked 20% off and it is also being delivered free tomorrow evening. I wanted them to throw in a Czech glass fish design flower frog in as part of the deal( I think it is called poisson volante??) they wouldn't but I have one already .Ampersand - there was an Arts and Craft wardrobe - an obelisk shape with lovely stylised metal inserts , leaves etc. Such a simple yet practical design. I am smitten but alas, we have not got the space (yet). It was a fab.antiques shop, small but lovely high quality gear - not a bit of tat in sight. I can see where my wages will be going..
3. Used my Mr. T vouchers for lunch in a pizza restaurant. With the vouchers the food bill came to 5p :rotfl:This was for OH and I to have a starter and main each. The whole bill came to round £3.60 as the vouchers did not cover the bottle of posh fizzy water .
4. Banked some change and one of the bags burst open and 1p coins were scattered everywhere in the busy bank. We will use ths money at the races.
5. Got some Red Herring skinny black cords for £7.20 in the sale in Debenhams. They may be out of fashion but I still love them and they fit well. My favourite jodphurs were cords and they were so soft and comfy.I am regressing x
Have a good evening all !
eta - PK - well done, a difficult day has been done and dusted and you have a brighter future !!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Big hugs kitchenbunny, hope you feel better soon xxx
PK - I reckon you'll knock the case out of the water, you're doing everything right by the sounds of it, dotting the i's and crossing the t's x
1. NSD, no 13 for the month
2. DD has a friend over for tea tonight, and I'll get to chat and drink wine with his mum in a bit.
3. Had a lovely day with OH *swoon*
4. Made up some little pastry mushroom and goat cheese tarts using pastry donated by my mum as it wasn't defrosted in time to make what she wanted at the weekend. Yummmmmmy
5. Saw my favourite receptionist at the doctor's surgery when I popped in to ask for a repeat prescription
6. OH and I had a lovely chat about our early summer holiday to Italy, I can't wait - 2 weeks with him and DD in (hopefully) sunshine, in a gorgeous house with pizza, pasta and Italian wine to look forward to, what's not to be excited about
7. Helped DD and her friend finish off their homework - phew! 2 days early this week for a change rather than a last-minute rush to complete it
8. Had a nice snooze at lunchtime, well I did sleep badly last night so needed it
9. Looking forward to SuperScrimpers later0
