Chickenopolis - thank you. YOu are so right, it is constantly at the back of my mind - and rather too often at the front. Went down to see him yesterday and he seems ok. He was laughing about the confusion he's been having but was now talking normally. The most worrying aspect is the suspected renal failure but they don't seem to be panicking about it.

I will edeavour to find 5 for yesterday

    1. Sitting next to a fellow marker on the train (I took my marking with me, to help that to make sense) - he was marking PhD work and I kept having to glance over as it was talking about Polaris and Trident and I was being rather nosey :D. Said Professor made me inwardly chuckle when he asked for a kit kat "I'll have a cup of coffee with three sugars () a bottle of water and a kitt (emphasis on the t - pause) Katt :rotfl:(small things please small minds)
    2. I got the bus to the hospital instead of a taxi - don't know why that is a pleasure but it is
    3. There was wifi on the bus - yes, on the bus!! Amazing.
    4. The rather handsome doctor that was attending to dad - I'm sure as he left, if he'd glanced back he could have seen mine and my sisters heads one above the other behind the curtain gazing adoringly at him
    5. The fact that dad was dad. Miserable old s0d though he can be, he is still my dad and I'm glad.

So I'm back home, planning to go back in the week if I can (use the marking as an excuse for a work at home day). We are off out for a walk in the peak district today. Have a lovely sunday all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Morning! Just thought I'd post my pleasures for yesterday as I didn't have chance last night. It was rather busy all day yesterday - car cleaning, house cleaning, a long walk to Mr T to fetch a magazine for DH and some fruit, and then finally a sit down with a film! Still, it was a productive day and I'm quite happy, if a bit on edge.

    Here goes:

    1. Discovered some multiseed baguettes at Mr T and partbaked them when we got home. Tea last night was a big pleasure. I mixed a batch of leftover meatballs and a batch of leftover chilli and used it to fill the baguettes topped with grated cheese... Mmm...
    2. There was one of the free magazines to pick up, so I've got a nice recipe section to look at.
    3. Mr Kitchenbunny hoovered my car. I didn't ask, but he did it anyway. :)
    4. I got all my ironing done.
    5. A couple of free foundation samples mean my camping make-up kit will be ultra-portable this year. :)

Have a lovely Sunday everyone. I'm doing roast gammon with Roast Chips, Fried Egg & Peas tonight.

    KB xx

    Hello.

Still stupendously ill, but not quite as ill as Thursday - Sat night. :-( There have been 2 occasions (in the middle of the night, when things are bleakest, of course!) where I have considered calling an ambulance.

    Here are my pleasures.

    1) Thursday afternoon - dad picking sons up from school.

    2) Thursday night - mum and dad coming over 7.30, tidying up, lighting the fire and putting the boys to bed.

    3) Friday morning - dad taking boys to school.

    4) Friday afternoon - dad picking boys up from school.

    5) Friday evening - OH doing everything!

    6) Saturday morning - OH taking the boys out to their father's car. He deserves a medal for that alone.

    7) Saturday - 11pm - OH doing everything.

    8) Dad back just now with cheese and beetroot sandwiches. Last meal I had was porridge on Thursday morning.

    That's about it.

Hugs Ladyhawk CCP Frith and everyone else xx

I know I'm posting my pleasures rather early today, but I may be back for more later, I'm having a good day :)

    1. Early I know, but declaring this as a NSD, yup, yet another one :)

    2. My friend who had DD for a sleepover last night with her son has rashly said that she can come anytime as she was such an angel and calmed her often quite hyper son down :) She may live to regret that statement.....

    3. Woke up this morning with OH snuggled up to me, bliss :)

    4. Chatted to loads of lovely people at church this morning and DD has signed us up for a weekend camping later in the year!! Eeeek, I haven't been camping since I was about 9 or 10

    5. Looking forward to DD's best friend coming over for the afternoon and making a big yummy dinner for us all - here's hoping she like vegetarian food :)

Hugs to CCP Ladyhawk, VJsmum and Frith

I've had the laziest Sunday ever but still not 100% and was tempted to go to the shops with OH but decided against it to have a NSD. Yesterday's pleasures:

    1. Had a great day with a good friend doing the CS round in her local village. I came away with a crystal lidded trinket pot for my dressing table, a pretty glass bowl and some wireless headphones for my mum. I was so pleased about the last one because I have been looking out for a pair for her for ages. She looks after my young niece and nephew and they often have the TV blasting out loud, so I suggested a pair of wireless headphones so she could have a bit of peace. The only thing is they are often very expensive but I got these boxed with instructions for £6 - delighted! I just have to make sure they work though....

    2. We stopped and had a lovely lunch of soup and a bagel and had a good blether

    3. Stopped at the pub for a cheeky glass of wine after that!

    4. My two little cats appeared in the local paper! There is a pets page where they publish reader's pet pictures. I was looking at the page a few weeks ago and thought the pictures I had of my cats deserved to grace the pages too so I emailed one of them in (they are cuddling together on the couch) and forgot all about it. So delighted!!! I feel like a proud parent! :D

    5. Nice relaxing evening when I got back
  • Thanks Sparrer I didn’t realise that.

Frith, big hugs, so glad everyone is helping, obviously hoping you feel a lot better very soon.

    A lovely lay in.
    3 loads of washing done
    Emailing MIL
Dinner is left over takeaway with, RTC chicken bits
Watching the animals enjoying playing in the garden

Just wondered if anyone else had heard rumours of snow arriving this week, I know I know they say it all of the time

Rainydays- I love it when horses do that, mine do it too, but I have to watch oldie, as mutual grooming can rapidly descend into nipping! Norty pony
VJsMum - I take my marking everywhere as I hate to "waste" time sitting on the train, or at the hairdressers, etc :)
Frith- sorry you are still poorly- good that you have people to look after you :) Get better very soon xx
and Get Well soon to all of the other poorly peeps xx

I am stupidly tired today, considering I haven't done an awful lot! Been quite a nice chill-out day though :)

    Mine for today

    1. Woke up early and caught up with some housework bits and mooched around sorting out the animals
    2. Cooked roasted butternut squash and red pepper soup for lunch (with chilli and ginger- nom!) Served with some artisan type bread that I had stashed the the freezer. It was rather yummy and there is not much left!
    3. Made little sultana cakes- just fairy cakes with sultanas in, dusted with icing sugar- and took them to the yard this afternoon and Mr and Mrs Ponycarer and I had cake and tea (GSD had a couple of crumbs of cake too!)
    4. Found out that I have sold and pending sold £70 worth of necklaces for EMW :)
    5. OH is home from his weekend of boysports. I have deposited him in the bath and I am chilling watching Jamie's [STRIKE]2 hours 37 minutes [/STRIKE]30 minute meals

Hugs to anyone in need xx

Get well soon, Frith! Hope you feel much better soon.
Millie - The things you've made today sound lovely! Put your feet up now - you deserve it!

    Here's my pleasures for today:

    1. Having a lay in. Mr Kitchenbunny brought me a cup of tea in bed, too :) He's such a sweetie!
    2. I made Mary Berry's Rock Buns (and ate three not long out of the oven with another cuppa)
    3. We've a fairly easy tea tonight with Roast Gammon
    4. How positive I'm feeling about starting my Grocery Challenge.
    5. Watching another episode of Sherlock from the planner.

I've had a cracking headache all day and it is only now starting to go. It's been rather a trying day because of it and I haven't really got anything done at all. Thankfully I got pretty much everything I needed to done yesterday and can rest up a bit. Mr Kitchenbunny has gone out so I'm trying to get a bit better. Have a lovely evening, everyone.

    Evening all.
Just wondered if anyone else had heard rumours of snow arriving this week, I know I know they say it all of the time

Yes, I've heard that, too - apparently tonight or tomorrow on the south coast. As I posted on another thread, it looks like my new furry boots might come in handy after all. :D

I've had a lazy sort of day today - I decided to take a day off struggling with my essay now I've got a bit more time to do it.

    1) Nice lie-in this morning.

    2) Chatting to my DM on the phone.

    3) Getting wagged at by a guide dog in the supermarket. (I didn't go near her, of course, but just looking in her direction was enough to make her start wagging her tail. :))

    4) Football on TV this afternoon, and skiing due to start very soon. (I love Ski Sunday - it always reminds me of being a kid, and I start thinking I can smell muffins and crumpets being toasted for tea.)

    5) Out tonight at a pub quiz, in a nice pub which has an open fire and a friendly pub cat (I always come home coated in tabby and white fur, which at least makes a change from the usual black fur from my mog, I suppose).

Have a nice evening, all, and get well right NOW Frith and KB.
Back after a very long break!

Frith, get well soon and Ladyhawk too.

Purple Kitten, so pleased that things are going well for you :T.

Let's see what I can come up with for today:
    1. A NSP and a NPD. Lots of those this month!
    2. Doing my monthly financial updating and everything looks good - well, as good as it can for someone with no income at present. Putting myself on a restaurant fast for January has worked superbly - I was spending so much on eating out - and I intend to carry it on through February.
    3. Yummy dinner made up of all sorts of odds and ends -leftover rice, passata, beans etc.
    4. A guilty pleasure - deciding not to go into town to meet up with a friend - just didn't feel like it.
    5. Having a mini lie-in this morning. Fudge Foster Cat never allows me to have much of a lie-in, though.

Hugs to all those who feel poorly or down. x
