  • Millie - you also need the Sitting Pretty bling ring, wrapped in Owl Print Gift Wrap paper. 'I'm free-e-e-e-'as personal shopper to any 5ospers. Have you found the new cake carriers in £land yet? It's always jst luck, no more, if things actually sought, rather than impulsed[although always sensible i,e, garden bits, and justifiable @ only £1....]are there on any day. Their stock moves so quickly.

I did have a peek at the jewellery too!! It's gorgeous :) I haven't been near a £land recently, but hope to go soon. I am always baking for people, so the more cake carriers the better :)
  • PK - congratulations! Wonderful news, am so happy for you! I have been there before and it is so disheartening, but you have shown true positive spirit.

I'm loving all the shoe pics everyone has put up. I wondered what all the fuss was about but now I see! I think these are my faves (not that I would have any occasion to wear them). There's just something about green shoes that I love, and they look sort of tweed-y too, and I love tweed:

    Mine for yesterday:

    1. Received a lovely card in the post from my mum, with a beautiful picture of up near where I'm from, to cheer me up. It did!

    2. My topcashback is racking up from free cashback (surveys, searches etc)

    3. I paid off and closed 2 credit cards

    4. Went for another torchlight run along the closed road. One or 2 people are still chancing it in their cars, only to have to turn back. I giggled as someone sped past me, looking at me like I was mental because I was out running with a headtorch (I have a thick skin...), and then had to turn back where the road was completely closed. I made sure I was smirking as they went past again, heehee!

    5. Listing 2 items on Gumtree for sale - should hopefully be £115 in the pot if I do sell them!

Apologies to all, I'm turning this Thread into virtual diarrhoea.

    1. So, another pleasure is being allowed to do so?
    2. It's such a gloomy, wet day it feels right in a So There! sort of way.
3.Listening to Andrew Motion -The Write Stuff is brilliant on R4 today. Uproarious and v.v.clever.
    4. This amuses me, recently accompanying every Body Shop em. No idea why =

ampersand - I will definately go to the auction . There was a stunning Arts and Crafts stool there last time I went and I left a bid that was too low :( Picked up some stunning Wahlter and Sohn (sp) green "mermaid " glass dressing table pieces and made a fair few quid on these a few years back ;) Animal feed merchant is very near and will combine the two .

Oh dear, I can't share everyone's enthusiasm for shoes! I do own a black pair of shoes (for funerals and interviews) but alternate between brown boots, other brown boots and trainers. And I seem to have massive feet compared with everyone else here! OH asked to borrow a pair of socks the other morning then said "Ah, but yours won't fit me" (he's size 13). Erm... they probably will... and they did! I have to buy men's socks.

Anyway, just popped on to while away the time while I wait to pick up the new car..... 4pm :-D

  • Firth:- Hope the car is fantastic.
Tee heee did I mention I have a shiney new “JOB”, it’s sinking in now..

My new boss phoned to say how impressed he was with the meeting, and asked if his boss had called me, indeed various people had and we are now negotiating as to what’s what, they are deciding on a start date, and I have received an induction pack, it’s becoming real!:T:T

I was looking forward to going out tonight, but we’ve decided not to, I want to celebrate, but I think I had got stressed over the past month, not visibly but now it’s like my body’s relaxed and I’m feeling very achy and tired as I relax, I would rather celebrate when I can enjoy it.:)

Further to the above as next week off may be the last for a little while, we are planning to head into brighton for day out next week, looking forward to it loads.:p

    A bacon sandwich for breakfast <10p bacon>, Defrosting curries for tea..again 10p each :o

If there is a picture of lazy for today it’s ME:)

Millie 2008, glad your GSD has perked up!

Purple Kitten - wow, congratulations!! Great news about your new job.

    Mine for today:
    1. Selling something via Gumtree for £40! :j
    2. A NSD and NPD.
    3. Doing a Reverbe and finding a penny in the pub!
    4. Then finding a sealed pack of blueberries in the pub under our table - yum! They came home with me in my bag as my friend dislikes fruit.
    5. Going to the pub with my lovely friend and being treated to some cider.
    6. An unexpected visit from my brother and his girlfriend.
    7. Third visit from an estate agent to value my house and he has given me an even higher valuation and their prices are good - £999 + VAT to sell my house and that includes legal fees with a reputable local firm of solicitors. Plus a short term contract so if they don't perform I can go elsewhere. Sounding good although I am sceptical at the high valuation.
    8. My brother saying he can supply me with lots of padded envelopes because I am thinking of starting a sideline selling used books - Broomstick, am I right in thinking you're doing that as well? I seem to remember you're a writer as well - we must be twins separated at birth! :)
    9. Yummy savoury rice with chickpeas for dinner.
    10. Feeling great all day. Not a twinge of regret so far at giving up my subcontract work.

Hugs to those that need them.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
