Evening
PurpleKitten - Well done on the job, fantastic news
Sparrer - You are a naughty lady, I had to look up the shoes....., they are lovely but have resisted the urge to buy more, for now anyway.
Frith - Enjoy your new car
Pleasures for today,
1. HM bread toasted for breakfast, is there any better smell than bread toasting
2. Being able to help a friend at work on an IT issue, she didn't want to put it through the helpdesk as she had a photo of her when she did the moonwalk on her screen that would not disapear. Oh how we laughednand yes I managed to save her blushes.
3. Lunch with another couple of friends in my favourite local cafe.
4. Another bag of books to the charity shop and another bag of carp in the rubbish.
5. Sticking to the meal plan for another day even if it wasn't a particularly exciting dinner. It has made another space in the freezer. Using up the freezer things next week is going to be a challenge as seem to be down to some strange things that not sure how they got in there.....
Hugs to all who need them0 -
:T :j PK :j:T what more is there to say?

re weight, slowly does it, I'm getting there, another st to go yet though I do think I've gained this week, been really lazy
Tealady 4 pairs, I'm green with envy! I'll have to get myself a sugar daddy, or is it a toy boy, at my age?
Millie ohhh, you're so brave. I can have nightmares/sleep with the lamp on just reading the title of those Hitchcock films
Broomstick well done you!!! That's amazing, you've inspired me to try next month, everything seems to have gone haywire this month so need get firmly back on track
1. No frost this morning which meant no heating on til this evening
2. nsd/npd
3. postie brought me a sample of moisturiser, enough for a week
4. Long chat on phone with DS (his bill) seems lots going on in his life re uni and work atm so he's happy
5. Searched for several evenings for travel insurance for DGD and myself for Rome, they wanted upwards of £60 just for me. Almost gave up but thought I'd try once more. Went through a cashback site, disclosed illness etc, and it came to a grand total of £37 with a very low excess! Phoned them to check and they confirmed so carried on with the on line application and will get £10.10 cashback as well.
Sleep tight

Excuse me pk, while I remind myself of something I saw here, says she modestly:

Frith, you won't know yourself in new car. Terrific for you and for boys - they won't want to go away at w/e now.
Yes, chickenopolis. Pukeko boots, I'm-a-lady dress and Day out @ auction - one of my heaven scenarios.

1. PK's got a fabby job
2. Frith's getting a swanky new(er) car
3. Everyone's keen on those lovely shoes on the website
4. Sparrer - I'm really glad you found good travel insurance for your Rome trip - I love Rome, did the whole throwing my money into the Trevi Fountains but haven't yet been back....*sigh* Maybe one day. May I be cheeky and ask you to PM me the name of your travel insurers? OH and probably now me need 'specialist' insurance, and it would be great to see if your company is even better than the company we used last year.
5. Booked my time off at work for our Italy holiday in June
6. Ending the day on a nice happy feeling after being a bit odd earlier.
7. Dinner with some lovely friends tonight and one of their husbands babysat for me.
8. Received a slightly confusing letter from my solicitor re: mortgage, but I've decided not to worry about it until after exchange (whenever that may be) rather than panicking now and so the pleasure is me 'letting go' and thinking que sera sera!
9. Lovely email from my cousin who's getting married0 -
PK- well done you *party*
I have always loved owls- we live on the edge of woodland and often hear them calling at night. My travel mug has got owls on it and it always cheers me up when I am fed up at work!
Sparrer- v jealous, I have always wanted to go to RomeYou have teeny feet, everyone thinks mine are teeny (4)
Not too sure - days out I guess !, Racing next week and Pizza Exp.(Mr. T vouchers) . OH wants to go out walking in the woods and take a "winter picnic" -( a flask of soup), day at an auction, maybe a bit of decorating , maybe see our friend in Spain . I can tell that you have nodded off already.........
Sounds fab!! Just the type of things I'd do, except the decorating, I'd just get OH to do that and helpfully point out to him that he's "missed a bit"....Spain sounds exciting- go for it!!
Ampersand- I tried to pick a pair to drool over from that link, but I want them all :rotfl:0 -
1.Hurrah for Friday! DD1 went to work and DD2 came to work with me.....lazy boy did heehaw!
2.As we had viewers for here, ironed, cleaned bathrooms, hoovered, tidied kitchen before going to work, so house is tidy.
3.Went for dinner with my husband, we have a lovely Thai restaurant in our wee town. We just had a main course he had 1 beer & I had water so reasonably cheap date!
4.Enjoying laughter with my colleagues....it is so good to laugh out loud!
5.DS dealing with an 8 legged creature for his youngest sister!
Came home from work & was enjoying a chat with girls, thinking I had 45 minutes before Estate Agent was due at 5.30pm(as per email to OH) , so I was just out the shower with a towel round me when door bell went at 4.55pm......Estate Agent.....DD2 showed him in & I quickly dressed.....sopping wet hair when viewer 1 came .....25 minutes early, then the next one came early, I ended up showing her and her moany child around.....she wondered where the pantry was? er.....don't have one! She loves to cook & bake....er, me too just not with that cooker love! (didn't say that though!). So anyway EA left saying that one hadn't turned up so he would just go.....5 minutes later , couple turned up but we turned them away! We have to have an open house for 15 minutes tomorrow so OH told them to come back then. As part of our tenancy agreement we have to allow viewers in but I'm not happy about a whole load of strangers wandering about my house tomorrow. I'll be glad to leave this house behind us!
Purple Kitten: I am so pleased for you & your new job. You have been inspirational in your ability to keep smiling through it all! Finding the pleasures in your day regardless! Enjoy your happiness .
Everyone have a lovely day whatever shoes or Welly boots you're wearing!0 -
Yay, after further lengthy drearies, looks as though Thanks button is working. Hope folk will not take it amiss if I simply go onward now, rather than backtrack over pages to rattrape. Having lengthy txt exchanges this a.m. with mummy?, in which I re-bossed 'Don't look back: you're not going there',it's also a good prod for me.
1. Loving all the shoe posts - tsk! tsk! sparrer, look at what you started!...and you with your tiny tootsies, too.
2, Millie - you also need the Sitting Pretty bling ring, wrapped in Owl Print Gift Wrap paper. 'I'm free-e-e-e-'as personal shopper to any 5ospers. Have you found the new cake carriers in £land yet? It's always jst luck, no more, if things actually sought, rather than impulsed[although always sensible i,e, garden bits, and justifiable @ only £1....]are there on any day. Their stock moves so quickly.
3. Saluting the Guardian again, for this:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/jan/19/phone-hacking-victims-monument-courage
4. Ebay watchers racking up nicely, will turbolist more today for Sunday night upload. There's always one surprise when checking how things are going - atm, 42 watchers on sth started @ 99p may bode well. I realise it's a bit of vintage/retro/rarity and a v.g. watch name, but I'm still surprised. Flying fingers crossed.
5, Tangible relief, ease, because of actions taken yesterday, arduous/re-livinig Dead Things as it all was. Women's Hour just started with Jenni...lovely antidote, aural wallpaper.
pk - wishing you postie luck today. There isn't one of us, I swear, who is not feeling buoyed up by your news. You do realise you are responsible for us each adding another osp to our day, don't you? Hold that thought.

In honour of all the talk of irregular choice I am wearing these today, as can wear jeans to work on a Friday. People either love or hate them, me I love them

And no I didn't pay £60 for them, managed to get mine half price off ebay, so money saving really (honest)0
