    Evening everyone.

    Love the wellies, Ampersand.:D
Edited to add: PK, I know what you mean about 'just spending' being wierd. It's been like that for a long time but even more so now that we are trying to buy nothing other than essentials.

My five pleasures for Wednesday, very foody and shoppy today I'm afraid, but that is how my Wednesdays are turning out now:

    1. A gigantic bowl of porridge with treacle for brunch so that I wouldn't feel hungry at the shops. (I forgot about losing weight while I ate it :o)

    2. Sorting out a rather complicated meal plan for next week that includes several different sets of packed lunches and two packed hot suppers on the go, but I've done it and it makes sense. I'm seriously wondering about installing a haybox in the boot of the car! :D

    3. Getting the whole week's worth of food shopping done again in one go and just about within budget. I took something back for refund so that gave me a bit more leeway than I thought. Once I have done the car refuelling and mobile top-up on my way to collect DS1 from the bus station just before midnight then I should have no reason to spend anything until next Wednesday. I'm hoping for another 6 NSDs in a row. :D

    4. There were some useful bogofs at the supermarket for things that were already on my list and some (very nice, as I've just discovered having eaten three in a row) clementines on offer so I treated myself to some of those. Apart from the clementines I stuck to my list 100%:T

    5. Had a lovely conversation with DS1 about the 'tightening our belts' regime and getting properly organised about not spending anything unnecessarily. He's been taking packed breakfasts, lunches and suppers when he's been out at work or sports training and has stopped eating snack food as fillers, so no more buying crisps etc. He said that, apart from bus fares, in the past fortnight he's only spent 50p extra on food and that was to get some extra milk for his cereal. He's really pleased with himself and so he should be. :D

    Have lovely evenings,

    B x

Purple kitten, great news about the interview!

Ninnoodle, you can't leave us hanging like that - tell us whether the skeleton groped you whilst you were driving! (I need to know these things...)

Let's see what I can rustle up for today:

    1. No work to go to :j so no alarm clock. Had a lovely lie in.
    2. Estate agent no 2 giving me an even higher valuation as to what she thinks my house might sell for.
    3. Watching the clock come round to when I would be leaving for work and knowing that I wouldn't be going. No regrets so far.
    4. Recalculating my finances and thanks to being frugal, I'll be fine for a while, although obviously I need to start generating income streams again fairly soon. I feel quite chilled and optimistic about it all, though.
    5. More cuddles with Fudge Foster Cat - what a sweetie she is.

Think that'll do for now. Hugs to those who need them.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    Evening all.

I've had a really gloomy day today - the weather's been soggy and foggy, my car's back in the garage with a fault that might need to be referred back to the manufacturer (doubtless at great cost - time to dig out my insurance documents to see if the work's covered, I think), I've been informed that two new work projects I've been volunteered for may take up to a day and a half per week each, potentially leaving me with two days a week to do the whole rest of my job (strange that my manager never mentioned that part when she told me I was needed for the new projects smiley-rolleyes007.gif) and I got the very sad news from my DM that one of her friends has died less than a week after the doctors stopped her chemotherapy because it wasn't working. :(:(:(

    However, nice things:

    1) HM falafel for lunch (well, HM from an AF packet anyway ;)).

    2) I had a raid on the B00ts 75% off sale - there wasn't much left but I managed to get a pretty new mug for 87p (no more digging through the cupboard at work to find one that's been washed before being put away _pale_) and a Wallace & Gromit washbag that I didn't really need but couldn't leave behind at £2.50. :)

    3) Found that my veg box company has a special offer on the brand of eco-friendly cleaners I use, making them cheaper than the supermarket, so I've ordered enough to stock up.

    4) Got a decent amount of studying done this evening, largely because I wasn't really in the mood to do much else.

    5) Easy, MS dinner of pork noodle stirfry, where all ingredients except the veg came from various special offers. :money:

PK - I'll have everything crossed for you tomorrow - keep us informed, won't you?

Have a nice evening, all, and may all skeletons in your closets be wearing scarves and sunglasses. ;)
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all,

PK - congrats on the 2nd interview and fingers crossed!

Wow - what a difference a day makes. I was dreading work today as I had to present some work to the boss and other senior buyers and it was received very well. Straight after that I was audited for some figures that I had reported to our HQ. I was really worried about it as I didn't know what to expect. But it went really well. Then my boss called me into his office and we discussed a project he wants me to work on which is going to be a massive challenge (yay!! At last!) And then he confirmed that he has put me forward for additional pay rise this year. Yay! Maybe he does appreciate me after all!

So all in all I feel so much more positive about work.

    1) The day turned out much better than expected
    2) NSD
    3) Good atmosphere in the office
    4) Went to the movies with my colleague A. Unfortunately for us I picked the film. I chose Shame which was truly dreadful. I have now been banned from choosing what we see! Though to be fair she has made me watch some pretty bad films herself!
    5) Nice stew from the fridge for supper.

    Night night

Thursday morning here, but here are Wednesday's:

1.After spending the night on the sofa as there had been a huge, black spider on my bedroom wall, then it disappeared & no way was I sleeping in my bed!.....I was glad to see the morning sunrise!

2.Dropped DD1 off for her new job, via a stalker drive by my new house (only 2 days to go!) ...have been stalker driving by every day...going out of my way to do so! She enjoyed her first shift but had sore feet!

3.Good day at work, not quite as frantic as previous 2 days.

4.Home, read a library book, had a bath, and finished my book....totally relaxing evening. No TV, no internet.

5.Lovely chat with one of my best friends from home.

Tired! Here are my 5 for today:

    1) Up with plenty of time to spare. Made school lunch inc flask of soup for smaller son.

    2) Went to see my brother and helped him move a washing machine into mum and dad's out of the shed (it's a long story...)

    3) Took the dog for a walk up to church and played this. Sort of! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uptLNBRUrBw&feature=related

    4) Emails from OH putting my mind at rest about the counselling.

    5) Not OS but went out to get a Chinese take away for tea.

    6) Enjoyed watching DIY SOS.

    7) Ex husband agreed to the weeks I had suggested he had the boys in Easter and during the summer. Didn't quibble with any of it!!!!!!!

    8) Smaller son (who will never do any out of school activity) has enjoyed volleyball at school so much, he asked me if he could join a club. i said yes, imagining the chances of finding one in Shropshire to be pretty remote. And there's one for children 6 miles down the road! So I've just emailed the secretary!

CCP hugs. Wishing tomorrow will be brighter for you :)
Broomstick lovely to have your DS1 on your side re belt tightening, sounds like a very sensible, and considerate, chap :D
ampersand what cute boots, makes my Hunters look positively dull. Not quite as glam as those shoes we saw though, can't remember what they're called but they were really something!
Ladyhawk so pleased to hear you sound more positive, and good to know your boss has shown his appreciation. Certainly helps boost the morale :)
PK wow, what a full day! Like the others I've got everything x'd for you

    1. Postie brought me some moisturiser to trial
    2. She also brought me a sample of coffee
    3. nsd/npd (got a lift to this evening's meeting)
    4. Repaired a brand new plant pot which 'just slipped out of my hand' as I was getting it out of the cupboard. You can hardly see the join :D
    5. No heating on this evening, the rain has brought much milder weather than we've had for the past few days

    Sweet dreams
