PK sorry for your loss.
Mine for today
1. Woke up just before the alarm
2. Got washing in that had been out overnight - made me :rotfl: with all the funny shapes it had frozen in, getting it into the airing cupboard was interesting
3. Took some clutter to the charity shop and didn't buy anything
4. DD got another months supply of acne tablets - wasn't sure the consultant was going to give them
5.Yummy fish pie for tea - with whoopsied fish, and there's a portion left.:TI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
PK - so, so sorry :cuddle:
frith- No problem -It would just feel "wrong" - I am not that interested in his or his cronies twitterings about scuba diving (sorry Ladyhawk- I know that you like diving) . I use it purely to keep in touch with my neices and nephews . I must admit that once he peed me off so much that I changed his profiles . I said that his favourite band was "Jedward" , fave .tv programmes "Ceebeebies" , hobbies include "lying " ..you get the picture...:o His FB friends went frantic , because he does not have much of a sense of humour and there is no way that he would have posted anything like this.Bless him x
:rotfl:soooooo funny!! and I it has given me  ideas for the next time OH does something to annoy me (that'll be before the day is out then!!) When I changed my FB status to "engaged to OH", he took ages to confirm it and he basically ignores me on there. Charmed, I'm sure!!
Poo day today, but I kind of knew it was going to be rubbish before it started, so it didn't come as a great shock., It ended well though, so not all bad!
Mine for today
1. Got into work early (brrr, it was cold), made myself a bucket of tea and got on with some stuff while it was quiet
2. Helped some new students who have joined us for the term and who were a bit confuzzled by everything
3. Went to see my friend after work for a catch-up. Took cake and got mobbed by her cats for cuddles, bless them
4. Went to Waitrose on the way home and picked up some RTC bargains
5. Got home not long back and all the animals had been mucked out/fed/walked for me. Love my parents :AGot mobbed by GSD who hadn't seen me for years...or something...
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
Evening all.
PK - I'm so sorry you lost your cat - I'm not surprised you're feeling terrible at the moment. I bet she had a good life, though.
I've been feeling a bit 'flat' all day - not exactly depressed, but far from sparkly.I'll see what pleasures I can find, though:
1) Turned some LO mushroom and lentil mix from last night's wellington into a rather nice soup - there was enough for today and tomorrow's lunches.
2) Walked into town at lunchtime with a colleague I haven't seen for a while - she lost her brother in truly terrible circumstances at the start of the year, so it was nice to catch up with her and see how she's doing. (I don't want to say too much about her brother's situation in case any of her family or friends come on MSE and think I'm gossiping about their personal tragedy, but it really was one of the worst things I've heard in a long time.)
3) Chicken fajitas for dinner - they were so nice I ate more than I intended to, but it was mostly veg so I hope I haven't done too much damage to my diet.
4) Listened to a couple of tracks on my OU CD on my new stereo - it's so nice to be able to listen without the constant stop. Ping and start. Ing of my old one.
5) As last night, I'll finish my evening with snooker and a lapful of mog.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening, everyone. Today has been a bit better, thanks to everyone for the hugs and wishes. They've helped a bit. Here goes with my pleasures for today:
1. Getting a phone call to say I've inspired someone to start cooking. And a great job they made of it too.
2. Tonight's tea was absolutely gorgeous. I split a ciabatta roll into 3 slices, topped one slice with salad, one with HM chicken tikka and used the final slice to mop up the juices. Mmm... Even DH commented on it.
3. Had a lovely email from a friend.
4. I've lost a lb and the Wii Fit daily puts me at 28!
5. I made flapjack breakfast bar things and feel rather virtuous.
(((hugs))) to PK
(((hugs))) to anyone in need of one. Here's to things picking up, eh?

Purple Kitten very warm hugs from here to you. We lost our old girl cat aged 16 in 2008 & less than 3 weeks later our 8 yearr old cat was poisoned & had a nasty end . Such an awful feeling of loss. However, we ended up with 2 daft kittens 6 months apart and they gave us so much entertainment. We didn't bring them to Australia as lots of landlords don't allow pets & some area councils don't allow you to let your cats ourtdoors (they kill indigenous birds, small mammals etc). So now they live with my sister & gave her 22 year old crabbit cat the runaround until recently.
They are part of your family and as such you will miss them & mourn them. Take care x0 -
Evening
PK - Hugs to you plus keeping everything crossed for your interviews this week.
Ampersand - NZ looks amazing and am sure you are going to have a very well deserved great time
Pleasures for today,
1. Phoning my Dad this morning to let him know about the Morrisons vouchers in todays Mirror for £5 off shopping and free teabags. As they do there shopping on a Monday worked very well and he was a happy bunny.:money:
2. Walking into town at lunch time so a friend could pick up a free mascara. She had forgotten her old one but DD had given me 2 to swap so happily gave one to friend.
3. Thanks to Mr.T lots of restaurant vouchers for ASK arrived in the post today which will cover the meal for OH's birthday next month. Will be able to treat the inlaws to dinner.
4. One of my favourite breakfasts, toasted crumpets with butter. The crumpets were RTC as well which always makes them taste better.
5. Day 2 of sticking to the meal plan - HM chilli with rice and tortilla chips for dinner. Just what I needed today as the office was really cold today.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
PK - so sorry to hear about your cat, no matter how old they are, it's always a horrible shock. Hugs to you and your OH x
Had a strange dream last night where my nasty previous bosses were ultra nasty to me again (the ones who contributed to me seeking medical help last year!), so it was a pleasure to wake up and realise that it was just a dream. Phew!
1. Low spend day - would have been zero, but I spent 16p in Mrt's and so it went on from there as I decided to put petrol in the car rather than waiting til I'm on the fumes
2. DD changed into a very funny outfit this morning to make me laugh
3. She wrote my shopping list and put Cuddles with mummy - free on there
4. She made me an amazing milkshake for breakfast, full of magic
5. Great day at work
6. Felt really happy again today
7. OH is here0 -
Mhags, how exciting to think you could be out a week early, and more exciting you could get some $'s back. Everything x'd for you
Kittikins sounds like we're quite a little group from the one area. I love it too, I've so many memories of my childhood there. Bless your DD for her addition to the shopping list
Purple kitten huge hugs to you on the loss of your beloved cat. I hope you can take heart from knowing she'll be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you.
Chicken fb is the bane of my life. It's just for family, close friends and the fellowship, trouble is one or two of them have language that is, shall we say, a little colourful, iyswim. Luckily those can be 'hidden' but I can see them if I want to. I don't, particularly! I love how you got your own back on your OH, too funny :rotfl:
Frith so you've seen some of that amazing sun too, albeit the other end of the day. Don't know if it's because I'm getting older I appreciate it more or it's just even more stunning than usual?
Broomstick Mum's the word :shhh:. Yum to lemon curd, haven't had that for years
Ladyhawk perhaps he though it rude to interrupt when you were talking to someone. At least he didn't ignore you. Wish I had a newpaper, I never buy one but would love to see you in the chef's hat
VJsmum you reminded me of when I was young, DM would send us out to get the frozen laundry in and the wincyette jimjams would stand up on their own. I feel for your poor DD, it's so unfair that they have to go through acne when they have so much to cope with, just growing up. Pleased she got some more meds
Millie you had a bucket of tea, cake, furry cuddles, lovely DM and DF who took care of the animals and a GSD to attack you...sounds like a pretty good day to me
CCP thank you for reminding me, I've been going to make lentil soup for ages and keep forgetting. I've got everything out now so that's a job on the list for tomorrow. Hope you find a little of your sparkle
Kitchenbunny pleased to hear you've had a better day. I'm not surprised you've inspired your friend to cook, the ciabatta and flapjacks sound
1. A lie-in til 8am, DD's dog never lets her lie in that long! He knows better than to disturb me in the mornings though, I can be like a bear with a sore head if I'm woken
2. Making my tea this morning, there was a loud thud behind me, made me jump out of my skin. Turned round not knowing what to expect, and saw DD's boy had dropped a 1 1/2kg weight near my feet. He though it was a toy like the dumbbells he has at home and wanted me to throw it for him. Silly animal!
3. hg blackberries in ff yogurt for breakfast, I felt guilty not finding a use for them when I picked them but to be able to take them from the freezer now feels pretty good
4. postie brought me a neat little lip balm in a box which has now been put away for a pressie. She also bought me some Homeb@se vouchers, handy as I need buy some paint for the lounge
5. Just watching John Sergeant's Tracks of Empire, since I went to India last year I find anything to do with it interesting. There's something about some places that just seem to attract you, isn't there?
Sweet dreams

CCP - :cuddle: Yesterday was meant to be "blue Monday"
. And being with your colleague can't have been easy, given what she has been through. I can imagine though how much it meant for her to have you there, as I know from experience that people often avoid others who have been through a bereavement, especially one like that, as they don't know what to say to them xx

Kittikins- your daughter sounds so adorable :AI've lost a lb and the Wii Fit daily puts me at 28!I have noticed that our Wii Fit remains stashed away in the cupboard, I think that this was after it declared OH to be obese (he's not, he's just a chunky hockey player) and made his Wii Me look like a weeble. Snigger!!
Tealady - I keep meaning to do that mascara swap0 -
Hello from Hotsville!
1.Took 2 bags of 'stuff ' to charity shop.
2.Dropped DD1 at local shop for an interview, she got the job & starts orientation tomorrow. Well done her....as lazy boy still does nothing! (though he is emptying dishwasher & re-cycling as I type!)\
3.Worked an extra hour.....they will all add up! However, we certainly earned our wages today! Mental!
4. Had chilli from freezer, added an extra can of kidney beans and some tomato paste to stretch it further. Very yummy.
5.My Tuesday treat of watching Nigella on telly!0
