Dear kitchenbunny and CCP, I'm in the middle of grinding on with ebay and have just had to post a ?, but this page popped up and I just wanted to remind you, kb, that the offloading of 'sense of hopelessness'/down/glooms/no motivation/can't be bothered sometimes feels just right and is SUPER O.K. to chuck down here.
We send hugs, we butt in with nods, agreement, smiles, empathy, virtual kettles on for cosy cuppas/virtual corks drawn and glasses raised...please pop in for anything at all. We care here...and if, yet again, I've failed to mind own blotty busyness appropriately....come and tell me off:D, definitely. Make it your 1st pleasure, okay?
CCP- Virtual Express ex:moi has on board for you, good hammer and other DIY tools[from many here]which give me some curious deep pleasure. Keep many in car too, under driver's seat, behind back panels. It answers something in me, which sparrer and I mutually noted a year or more ago, re: acquisition of folding shovel. Sounds as if a Cambridge day is just what's needed as antidote, plus my infallible avocado cheapie finds chez Mr T. Consider them found:D.
Well, here I am so will endeavour 5 ONLY,:rotfl: quick:rotfl::rotfl:, short:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:,,,blahblahblah. Just get on with it, woman!
1. I'm using up should-be-Listing time here instead:o
2...........because turbo-ilster is rptdly wiping itself out after Hours of Wretched Dutiful Ploughing on:eek::mad::eek::mad::eek:
3. Shot off early and spoke to Spitalfields man, who is in this neck of near woods on Sundays, up from smoke, running another carboot site. We chatted well - think I'll plunge in at deep end this Thurs, having emphasised several times that I work/buy/exist/live on smell of oily rag, but he much liked some bits I had on me...had forgotten about the old silk Dublin box, sweetest sound from the concealed catch, around 300 years-fresh:)[till it fell from an envelope in my bag;he picked it up] with the sweetest of little engraved seals. On one side an hourglass, with 'Here today, tomorrow away', minutely round edge recto; damsel fly and 'All her ways are pleasantness'>edge verso. It's just a totally lovely small thing, ravishing. That's another short, succinct post:p But so wanted you, CCP, in view of your comment, to sense and feel this exquisite, tiny objêt, wonder about its creation/commissioning, its gifting to which 'she' from which 'he'. All very Garrow's Law....one of my constant DID refinements, with own Rule Amendments, natürlich!
4. Back here, photographed TASTY ITEMS aka yesterday's jumble gems, outside in sun and saw carnivorous honeysuckle is respurring to inflict new facial injuries - entering gate at night=twiggy whiplash.
5. Beef casserole/4, mushroom soup/3 all portioned and frozen. I need no food at all, outside fresh F&V, eggs, maybe milk[have freezer bargains]until I go - 29 days!

Must return>earn mode, infuriating though it can be.
Cheering hugs to all, truly all, individual by individual, for you pass through my mind thus]and There's Work Here! purple kitten - unpaid...I know: I'll call it an internship as Cameron's Big Society scams it.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Sunday's joys:
1. Waking up with OH
2. Dropped him home and had a quick natter with his parents, feels like I've not seen them in ages and yay, seeing him again tomorrow(and then he's babysitting but at least I'll get lovely cuddles when I get back.....hoping he'll come and stay more often when we're at the bungalow)
3. Great church service today, and DD was super-helpful with tidying up afterwards, everyone tells me how wonderful she is and I just think "I KNOW!!!"
4. Lazy afternoon cuddling DD, watching The Borrowers we recorded the other day for the gazillionth time, we should have been finishing off her homework, but maybe tomorrow.......we've got til Wednesday morning!
5. A truly lovely lady on Freegle gave us a fabulous keyboard and stand and we had a great chat with her when we popped over after dinner to pick it up. Sadly when we move to our new house, it's a bit small to have a full-sized piano, so I'd been thinking of saving up to buy a keyboard, but thankfully I don't need to now
6. NSD No. 10 for the month!!
7. Dug out a pack of YS pastry and made up a mixture for amazing little veggie carrot, potato and onion pasties and a tuna and tomato open tart for DD to try. She loved hers and wants me to do it again for packed lunches - thank goodness, something different for her to try rather than the boring old cheese sandwich!!
8. We came back from picking up the keyboard and a friend had popped a couple of chicklits through the door for meI've got so many great books to read at the moment, very lucky.
9. Feeling so happy I could cry! Life isn't perfect, and there are lots of things that I would love to improve about my life and the lives of people I love, but I'm also blissed out at the whole reality of being in love with life, my handsome, imperfect man who is perfect for me and my gorgeous, clever, funny (etc etc etc) and occasionally imperfect daughter who makes my life more amazing than it would ever be without her
Sorry if that was a bit over the top but hopefully noone will think me too mad for putting it in!0 -
Good evening all !
millie - I did laugh at the "chicken proof " post . Wish my kitchen was "chicken proof".
missemmajane - congratulations !
kittikins - lovely post
CCP - some days you just feel like you have the "un Midas" touch when everything you touch turns to carp xx
kitchenbunny - hello! Its nice to have you back xx
5 for today
1. Went in to town with OH and got some bargains , with my Christmas vouchers so no spend in Boo*s.
2. Got a size 12 dress in Primarni which is sort of 1940's style with little swans on it. Their clothes normally are a bit snug and I think a 12 is really a 10 iyswim? It fits really nicely , if not a little loose and it cost £10 . I never buy any clothes so I am quite pleased that I actually like it
3.My friend has asked me if I could look after her hens next month when she goes to Canada - I love having them here, so this was a pleasure to help her out and to give her some peace of mind .
4. Have arranged to cook chinese food for 7-9 family members next Saturday in an attempt to make an effort for us all to stay in touch with each other more often this year, and this will be "rotated" and I have got the ball rolling .I am a feeder so this is fixes my nurturing needs- feeding people I care about.
5.Have coloured my hair which takes about an hour to "take" I hate sitting around knowing that I have to for an hour so I went on the exercise bike for another half and hour, with it on. I also did half an hour last night. I love it that "muscle has memory" as my bum is now back where it should be :rotfl:
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all,
Kittikins - would you be so kind and send some happy vibes my way?
I have had the Sunday night blues... All day.I am ready to jack in my job without anything to go to (not that I would). I work with some complete *******! And it is making me unhappy. I hate the fact that whatever I do, it displeases my boss. I hate that he is so unsupportive. I hate the way my "team" mates take great glee in stabbing each other in the back. I just have to focus on my meeting with HR on Thursday.
1) Been a pj day
2) Made a pot of veggie soup to have with HM rolls from the freezer
3 funny chat with a dear friend in Wales. He amuses me greatly
4) NSD & NPD
5) Sorted out some of the photos I had printed and managed to get about 6 months worth stuck in the album. I am sure no one will notice that they are not neccessarily in chronological order
6) Finished my book.. Looking forward to get stuck into the Kate Adie book I started last night.
Night night

Wow Kittikins that is a fantastic feel good post, and lovely to read.
Ladyhawk: Something will come up either at your co or another. I know it sounds daft me being so positive when I haven't got a role myself at the moment but I have never stopped looking, people always say how positive I come across, there's no point being miserable out of choice I guess - doh.0 -

Ampersand- I read I post by you (I think) on the £land thread about cake boxes? Assuming it was you, thanks, I think I "need" one or two!!

Chicken - I am working on my "chicken-proof" brand as we speak *cough* Watch this spaceDragons den, here I come!!
Mine for today
1. Woke up early to the sound of OH snoring, prodded him in the kidney region...snoring continued, got up and continued work on Project Craftstash. Given that my crafting mojo went awol months back, I have decided to turn my craft room into a mini-library for OH (that sounds far more grand than it is, it is a home office with built-in bookcases!!). According to the law of s*d, sorting through my stash seems to be awakening my mojo. Bums.
2. I am planning to descend on my ex counselling mentor tomorrow after work, so made a chocolate cake. Mentor is a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, so I get cat cuddles too, yay
3. OH decided that we were Going Out, so I printed an ASK voucher and we went out for a cheeky lunch (£17). I ended up paying...how does that work exactly?? Picked up some bargain roll-out icing from Lakeland and had a mooch round John Lewis. Didn't spend anything else though
4. Made some bracelets for the daughters of my technician at work, who is working this weekend, preparing for my lab class tomorrow. Yes, Dr Millie will be back in a white coat, for a limited period only!!
5. Currently sitting with OH and the bunny couple, who are curled up on their bed. Arthur is snorning. Cute!!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, peeps, hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
ampersand - that sounds an intriguing little object - wouldn't you just love to know its history? (I know I would.) I don't know if I've mentioned it on this thread before but one of my favourite of my own objects is a brass cigarette lighter which belonged to my great-grandfather, decorated with the coat of arms of the regiment he served in during WW1. It's fascinating (if rather disturbing) to think of the things it must have seen.
A Cambridge day sounds wonderful - sadly it will be virtual for now (via G00gle streetview, mayhaps) as Cambridge is a b****r to get to from Portsmouth. I have, however, been intending to explore something of the eastern side of England for some time - my father's family is from Norfolk, a county I've never even visited - from where it's much easier to get to Cambridge. It's definitely something to think about. :think:Chickenopolis wrote: »CCP - some days you just feel like you have the "un Midas" touch when everything you touch turns to carp xx
YES! You've got it exactly. The worst bit for me is the DVD - I can never tell my DSis about it as she'd be genuinely heartbroken to know she'd been tricked into buying the wrong film. I'll just have to buy the right one as soon as I can - thank goodness for online surveys which provide free Amaz0n vouchers.
Ladyhawk - hugs to you. I've previously had a job that made me feel similar, so I have sympathy from bitter experience. I hope something better comes along very soon for both you and PK.
I'm now going to go and let mog in and switch on the snooker - watching mog watching snooker is a recurrent pleasure.Back after a very long break!0 -
Thanks everyone. The worst part of the job situation was that I used to absolutely love it. I genuinely thought that I had the best job in the world. So to go from that to being miserable is hard to take.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. BIG HUGS Ladyhawk, I'm so sorry to hear your job is making you so unhappy at the moment, is there anyone in the office you can chat to? x0
