Ladyhawk - hugs - so sorry to hear you're unhappy at work. I really dislike my job too - it's more the work I do and the people. I work 'virtually' from home, and have to pinch myself every day what a fantastic position that is to be in, to be able to do that. The people I have to work with though are huge stressers though, and the work environment is very pressured. I have to work very hard on focussing on the positives, and sometimes it gets just too much. I really hope things turn around for you soon.

    Mine for today:

    1. Had long, lazy, lingering lie-in till late :)

    2. Drove to shops and picked up some bargains from Poundland (Maybelline mascara, a dibber, Valentines treats, radiator paint (it's my new project, to paint them), Rimmel shadow palette, 2 x tins tuna - so random all together :D) and Home Bargains (pet bed, clothes hanging peg fixture thing, Galaxy bars (19p each so got 2 and scoffed them on the way home) and a giant box of Surf powder, 100 washes size for £9.99)

    3. Decided rather than drive home and then all the way back out again to pick up OH from the pub where he was watching the footie with his pal, to go there, fill up the car and stop for a chat and catch up with them.

    4. Also got a M&S £10 meal deal which saved cooking - great as we were so late in - and was very nice

    5. Am now sat with slanket, cats, log fire, candles and OH has the TV headphones on so no noise - Sunday evening bliss!!

    5 for yesterday:
    1. Met friends early morning for run round the woods. Was a beautiful crisp sunny morning for it and we all had a good yap. After 2 minutes though I fell quite badly after tripping over a stone and cut both my knees and hands. Was in shock for a few seconds but picked myself up and carried on. Once I finished I realised one of my knees was pouring with blood. The pleasure in this meant....
    2. I could put my feet up for the rest of the day. I cancelled a later plan to meet a friend in town for a coffee (can never be bothered going into town anyway), patched up my poor knee and sat on the sofa dozing and basically doing not much for most of the day.
    3. After the run, me and friends went for a coffee and met another friend there also. Was a really good laugh, we were in hoots.
    4. My OH put up a cheap but pretty bed we had got from Ikea a few weeks back for the spare room
    5. My fall meant I had put a hole in my running tights and gloves - which meant I could justify buying new ones. I found running tights for £9 online but my gloves, which are absolutely brilliant and just the right thickness and warmth most days to prevent my raynaulds from attacking, were £20 cheapest. (I originally got them as a gift) So I will just hold out on them and wait to see if any amazing bargains come my way. One of my goals this year was to buy no clothes unless necessary so this was a nice surprise since I love buying new running gear but have far too much of it (and my other running tights have worn so thin it looks like I am actually wearing tights, if you know what I mean ;):o )

Sorry to read this :cuddle: I am not happy with my job at the moment and I know the Sunday Blues only too well :(

Thanks everyone. The worst part of the job situation was that I used to absolutely love it. I genuinely thought that I had the best job in the world. So to go from that to being miserable is hard to take.

I am in the "don't like the job" brigade also, although I get Monday blues as I go back to work on Tuesday. Stupidly I know that people have it far worse than me. I get paid well for a flexible job that I can do well and i only work part time. But the lack of organisation and poor managment from our so-called management team is turning it into a miserable experience. They will be calling for redundancies soon and, whilst I probably won't volunteer I may be a compulsory. Not much bothered - it will save a decision having to be made.

    5 for today

    1. A walk in bright sunshine over the hills
    2. A lazy morning
    3. DD cooked dinner :T
    4. Chocolate cake after the walk and not feeling guilty and lapsang souchong tea, which I wouldn't drink all the time but was a lovely treat today.
    5. Managed to get stains out of 2 white shirts by plunging them in a bowl of strong bleach solution - seems to have cured rather than killed.

    Have a good week all.
    5.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hugs to those who need them and best wishes to everyone for lots of pleasures in the week ahead!

1/ Finally writing up my new Filofax diary and writing my hours for the week ahead on my calendar -there's something very satisfying about getting organised!
2/ Going out in the car - alone - and listening to Radio 4.
3/ Wholemeal toast and yellow label smoked salmon for breakfast and fruit salad ... hopefully the start of some weightloss!
4/ Hubby's legendary veggie burgers for lunch!
5/ Listening to DS2 practising his guitar. He has to be nagged these days but it still sounds lovely!

    5 or so for today.

    1) Waking up with OH. :-)

    2) Faffing about all morning doing nothing.

    3) Popped down to mum and dad's. Walked the dog up to church and had a quick blast on the organ as there was no one about.

    4) Have been playing the piano a lot also. Downloaded some sheet music but then my printer wouldn't print so I've been playing the piano with the laptop open on my knee so I can read it!

    5) Had breakfast things left in the fridge - one rasher of bacons, few mushrooms and tomatoes - so fried them up them made them into an omlette which was very tasty.

    6) Boys back from their father's and quite happy. We made some fairy cakes, smaller son combed the cat and played his clarinet, bigger son made a bag out of recycled carrier bags after watching someone do that on Youtube.

    7) Just got off the phone to my school friend.

    8) Weird pleasure - just looked up the number for the counsellor I used to go to. Not sure if that would be the right way to go or not but getting quite annoyed with panicking and not being able to sleep at times. In fact, it felt better when I felt rubbish ALL the time - now I feel well, feeling rubbish hits me like a truck! Will have to think whether to phone tomorrow. I'm not finding it very easy being in a relationship again as I'm either waiting for him to throw something at me or to find out that he's had one/more affairs. :-/ Which is not a slur on OH, just the numpties who have gone before...

    Ooo, now I've emailed her!

CCP if you do ever get to Cambridge you'll find the most knowledgeable and informative guide in ampersand, who not only showed me some of the more important parts of the city centre but also made it fun by visiting rather exciting places like Hotel Chocolat :)
Ladyhawk, VJsmum, ninnoodle, I'm really sorry to hear you're not happy with work. One of the most difficult things to do decide on is a career change, it's fear of the unknown and lack of confidence that you can do something else, but to stay where you are is even more difficult if it makes you unhappy. I hope you all find something that you enjoy, or that your current position improves for you :)
PK sincerely hope you find something soon, and it's something you're happy/comfortable with
oldtractor you certainly had a busy and varied day, you deserve to enjoy your evening in front of the fire
Chicken yes horsey people do curse a lot! They also empty their boots of water outside the back door after hosing down the yard and wonder why they end up with chilblains!
Millie I have little box room which has in turn been my office, ironing room, guest room, store room/glory hole, but only in my mind. In truth it's all of those things all the time :o
scotrae what a gorgeous meal to lose weight with, proving it's not all about lettuce leaves
Frith well done on contacting your counsellor. It's so important to have someone to confide in, preferably someone who knows the history. I really hope you get to see her soon and she gives you the confidence to know not all men are b@stards. It took me a few years to trust my second husband completely (prior to marriage of course). You're doing a grand job on yourself and the boys, and it's good when you recognise when you need to talk to someone, and that you've emailed for help :)

    1. Left home at 7.30am and got to Henley by 9am. Slow trip but very beautiful, the frost glistening on the fields and the mist, about 3/4 feet deep, floating over them. Above it all the sunrise, a huge, vivid orange ball low on the horizon, streaked with skinny black clouds. In the other direction the silver grey ghost of the moon was still just visible. I would have loved to stop just to appreciate the beauty of the moment...had I not been on the M25!

    2. A good lunch out with DM who always has the childrens roast, so excellent value :)

    3. Stopped to look in a few shops, which made me very thankful I don't live in a town where the cheapest dress is about £100

    4. There's a new patisserie in the town with an absolutely immoral window display! DM and I were gazing at all the confectionery when a lady came over to look also. I was just about to suggest we bought one portion of gateau to share with our afternoon cuppa when she said ' What's that expression? A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips?' A very MS lady, she saved me £2.95 :D

    5. Reading Kittikins #9. It wasn't at all over the top and certainly she had no need to apologise. It was a real and genuine emotion from the heart, which made me think of and appreciate my own family. Thank you :A

Sorry for spelling mistakes, I'm just too tired to check it over now

    Sweet dreams
    S :)

Sparrer, I was driving to Reading at about 7.30 this morning and I was looking at the rising sun and the fading moon and the amazing red dawn sitting on the horizon and thinking that it was a real pleasure too. Nice to have shared that moment with you (although I didn't realise it at the time :D)

Anyway, five more pleasures for today:

    1. Driving really economically so that I might just get through to Wednesday without having to put any more fuel in the car. It's looking vaguely possible now, rather than hopeless.

    2. Managed to avoid the cafe at the place we spent the day and relied solely on Thermoses and packed lunches/snacks. This has resulted in yet another NSD. I'm up to 13 :D

    3. Sitting and reading my book amidst the noise and chaos of the event we were at.

    4. Listening to the musical version of Three Men in a Boat on radio iplayer while getting on with other things.

    5. Walking through the front door when we came back home to a clean and tidy sitting room.

    Sweet dreams

  • Ladyhawk and Dr. Millie- I am sorry that you both had the Sunday blues. Ladyhawk good luck with your meeting , sounds like you need this at this time.

frith - ((hugs)) to you. I remember being told that the brain shuts off as it would be overloaded with some of lifes "horrors" (PTSD stuff ). I also recall that Terry Waite still finds the sound of someone undoing masking tape very unnerving. We are not taught how to feel , so now and then it doesn't hurt to have a little guidance in this area . Good luck xx
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Morning

    Pleasures for the weekend;
    1. Receiving lots of lovely vouchers from Npower thanks to new gas & electricity tariff plus tariff is cheaper. Thanks to MSE:money:
    2. Both DD and myself got a new posh mascara free again thanks to MSE:money:
    3. Treat DD and myself to a hot chocolate and a cake to share in Costa using points so again free:money:
    4. Got back into meal planning for the week and doing my food shopping according to the meal plan. So weekly shop less than half of what it would normally be. :money:
    5. DD cleaning the bathroom including the floor and doing a bvery good job of it
    6. Fake away lunch using RTC items. DD wanted to go for a pizza but we had pizza, wedges and nachos at home followed by icecream which cost less than £2 as opposed to about £20 if we had eaten out. And we got to watch the BFG :D

Hugs to all who need them
