Go you Ladyhawk! :kisses2:
Ampersand - your day sounded just fabulous!
My pleasures for yesterday:
1. Went to see War Horse with my OH. Beautiful weepie - I FORGOT MY TISSUES!! So had to wipe my tears on my sleeve, whilst simultaneously scowling at the couple next to me nattering the whole way through!
2. Nice lunchtime run in the sunshine. Beats a headtorch run in the dark!
3. Popcorn and ice cream in the cinema. Not very MS but we never go out so it cancels it out
4. -5c on the way back in the car! This is the coldest we have seen this winter - sort of a pleasure when the coldest temperature we got last winter was -22.5c!
5. Call with my boss last thing wasn't as awful as I anticipated0 -
Evening all.
ampersand - thanks for the link to Fitzwilliam museum. I can't imagine I'll have any reason to go to Cambridge any time soon but, if I do, I'll be visiting: I'm not a great one for art but books, artefacts and antiquities are amongst my favourite things.
1) A brief but satisfying lie-in this morning.
2) Managed to make my way in and out of Southampton despite the city's bewildering one-way system - its one advantage seems to be that it makes Portsmouth's look positively straightforward!
3) I managed to be very restrained on my first ever visit to Ik*ea - just about everything I bought has a good OS / MS purpose. (Except the bag of cinnamon buns. Putting out a jar of them with a 'try me' label is a particularly mean trick - having tried one I couldn't resist getting more.)
4) Received my latest Lakeland order - a shiny new stock pot (hooray, I won't have to try and cram a chicken carcass into a saucepan anymore! :j) and a couple of cooking gift packs which were heavily RTC. :money:
5) Not terribly OS but - having been out pretty much all day I can't face cooking so I'm going to get a pizza delivered - I've got a £5 off code which makes it very slightly less naughty.
Have a nice evening, all, and wrap up warm - it's cold out there! :snow_grin (OK, perhaps not that cold!)
Back after a very long break!0 -
5 for today (Saturday) so far.
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Made a cooked breakfast.
3) Sons very cheerful this morning. Now at their father's.
4) Went with my dad to look at 2nd hand motors. Saw one I liked (private sale) but what a surly woman selling it!
5) Popped in to see my uncle and auntie and they were on good form, uncle especially considering he had a stroke before Christmas.
6) Fed my sister's cat (she's away at a wedding) and have borrowed her cat comb and have spent ages chasing after my cat with it - he hates it!
7) House tidy, sitting by the fire now reading the Guardian.
8) Waiting for OH. :-)0 -
LH- fab
Maybe he's a wee bit shy and needs to have a few drinkies to chat to laydeees
Mind you, nude lesbianism does hold its appeal at times!!

Ok, so (one of) my New Years Resolution(s) was to be less impulsive and to think things through before jumping in with my big fat size 4s. Sooooo why did I decide, on a whim to buy the World's Biggest craft storage unit in Hobbycraft, without considering how I was going to get it back to the car, never mind getting it into the car. I was having second thoughts at the till, then some joker said "not sure how you're going to get that home, love", which made me all the more determined to buy the damn thing. Mr Till operator offered to help me to the car with it, I declined politely, with a sidewards glare at Mr joker, then man-handled it out to the car park, red and sweating. Then realised that the freaking thing wouldn't fit in the car and I had to take the car to pieces in order to get the damn thing in. Then, triumphant, I drove my new purchase home and wrestled it into the house, only to be met by OH declaring "it's lovely dear, but where are we going to put it??" So, erm yes, being less impulsive would be fabulous...
So all in all, today hasn't been terribly OS...mine for today
1. Lovely crisp morning (-4) but this meant that oldie couldn't go out and she thought that she should be going out. This resulted in her hot-footing it out of her stable and barging past us all as if to say "out of my way, peasants". I managed to catch her and install her in her spare bedroom with room service, but she still complained loudly to the whole neighbourhood.
2. Turned Feeb and hugecob out nekked, for a roll and play and they loved it.
3. Spent the day with Mrs Ponycarer in Cheltenham. Didn't really buy much (apart from some more much needed xmas tat), treated Mrs Ponycarer to a birthday lunch in La Tasca and we had a cheeky glass of vino each
4. Cuddles with Mrs Ponycarer's rescue doggy (cavvy), Rosie Posie - she wags her whole back end when she sees me, which is lovely, as she is an ex puppy farm !!!!! (the swearypolice won't like that word!) and was v v timid when she arrived. Also raided Mrs Ponycarer's xmas choc stash...
5. Am half way through sorting out my craft stuff and re-homing it into the new storage facility. I am hoping that this will cause my crafting mojo to return, as it has been awol for a while
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
Sadly I think this guy has no intentions other than a drunken kiss. I kissed him last summer as well.
Ladyhawk -I take it the that this is an annual thing with this chap??;) And put some clothes on .. too cold to be in the buff !!
ninnoodle - I would have also bawled my eyes out and scowled and huffed and tutted at the noisey cinema people x
frith- buy the car then run her over !
millie - Ithink you need a bigger house x
5 for today
1. Quiet morning to myself as OH went out diving . I need and like my own space ( become an astronaut I hear you cry )
2. Woke up early so let the hens out early and put some washing on the line before 9am - and it dried
3.Made some celery soup with celery (obviously) which was leftover from Christmas .
4.Spent the rest of the day in the garden digging out the compost heap and putting bucket loads in my raised beds for the spring. I got too much help with his from 16 little chicken feet .
5. Cuddle with Butch the hen who always jumps on to my lap and makes funny little noises , and makes my jeans dirty in the process
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening Ladies,
Chicken - I wouldn't ever consider being a nudist in the UK! Goosebumps are not attractive on anyone! Not that I have ever really considered recreational group nudity! As for this Aussie lad... Is more of a bi-annual thing
1) Went to look at a new property... It was beautiful from the outside but when the agent and i were standing on the landing outside the front door we could hear talking from the other flats which really put me off.
2) An ex-boyf called for a chat tonight and we have agreed to go for a drink next week. He's a nice guy who I care very much about but certainly don't harbour any romantic feelings for him anymore
3) Baked some oat and raisin biscuits. The dough was yummy and made dozens of them rather than the 20 that the recipr said it would!
4) Lovely hot bath and started a book by Kate Adie.
5) Afternoon nap - I needed that!
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
5. Cuddle with Butch the hen who always jumps on to my lap and makes funny little noises , and makes my jeans dirty in the process
Ahhh, I can't wait to move to somewhere I can have my own chickensWe had them at the yard, but Mr Fox got into their "chicken proof" run and that was that
Pity we are not closer, we could swap pony/chicken "cuddles" xx

Ladyhawk, is it a once a year Friday thing? If so, can we all make a note to put the second Friday in January 2013, otherwise known as 'Ladyhawk Day' :T in our diaries? We need nice things to happen in Januarys.
My five for Saturday before I go back to being busy:
1. Having made real inroads into tidying my desk and doing filing. The pleasure is in what I have achieved not the process!
2. Hearing that my nephew has been accepted into one of the secondary schools he's applied for.
3. Making a supper that can be adapted to do tomorrow night's meal as well.
4. Sorting out my huge sewing and knitting basket and finding a missing t-shirt which I had put in there for mending.
5. Having another NSD and a NPD as well. It's going to be hit or miss as to whether I will make it to Wednesday without needing to visit the petrol station and I would really like to not to have to spend money before then.
Sleep well,
B x0 -
Me again- something for Oldtractor and Chicken and Sparrer and all of the other horsey peeps on here. Friend put it on face book and it seemed apt to post it her too xx
Why do I like horses? I think I must be mad.
My mother wasn’t horsey- and neither was my dad.
But the madness hit me early- and hit me like a curse.
And I’ve never got much better. In fact, I’ve just got worse.
... My stables are immaculate. My house is like a hovel.
Last year for my birthday- I got a brand-new shovel.
I hardly read a paper- but I know who’s sold their horse.
And I wouldn’t watch the news- unless Mr Ed was on, of course.
One eye’s always on the heavens- but washing waves in vain.
As I rush to get the horses in- in case it’s going to rain.
And though they’re wearing 15 rugs, the best that you can get,
I bring them in to keep them dry- while I get soaking wet.
I spend every pound I’ve got- on horsey stuff for sure.
I buy saddles, bridles, fancy rugs- and then I buy some more.
I should have had my hair cut- or bought that nice blue shirt,
At least it wouldn’t now look ripped and showing up the dirt.
I can’t make a bloody sponge cake- so I don’t even try.
But I can back up a car and trailer in the twinkling of an eye.
It’s jeans and joddy boots that I live in night and day.
And that smell of sweaty horses just doesn’t wash away.
Once every now and then I dress up for a ball,
With make-up and posh hairdo- and high-heel shoes and all.
I ache from long-forgotten falls. My knees have got no skin.
My toes have gone a funny shape from being squashed again.
But late at night, when all is still- and I’ve gone to give them hay,
I touch their velvet softness and my worries float away.
They give a gentle nicker and they nuzzle through my hair.
And I know where my heart is - more here than anywhere!
