    2. Watching my boys having great fun 'Tube surfing' and the City folk trying not to laugh at them. (Spot who isn't used to trying to stand on trains and the underground!)

My twins are native Londoners and have been surfing the tube since they were able to stand up (encouraged by their irresponsible mum, I have to confess :rotfl:). It is a great sport, loads of fun!

Glad you enjoyed your time in London - it is big, messy and chaotic but it is also great because there are so many opportunities for cheap and free fun if you know where to look!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Thank you, Ollie, for your kind words. :-)

    5 for today:

    1) Continuing tidying before the school runs etc start again. Today did a whizz round and did the stairs and kitchen floor.

    2) Listened to the Archers Omnibus.

    3) Took bigger son to a birthday party at the local cinema. Little son and I stopped too (well away from the 9 year olds so as not to cramp their style!) We watched Alvin and the Chipmunks 2.

    4) Had a nice tea. I had a sort through the fridge/freezer so did kebabs under the grill (cubes of pork and cubes of pineapple as I had half a pineapple left) with some Ainsley Harriot cous cous.

    5) One of the boys from next door came round to help little son with his Club Penguin mission. When his dad came to collect him, we thought we might combine forces to order a massive load of logs, then half it. Hopefully we'll save something that way. Then I had to tell him about the massive rat that keeps popping in and out of his shed! :-S

A bit more trouble with the ex today. In one of the many court orders against him, he was banned from letting the boys play with/have guns, whether real or toy. (This because, when they were 2 and 4, he got them to fire an air rifle out of an upstairs window when they were stopping with him). He really must be "seeing his backside" at the moment because he brought them home today complete with a BB gun. I really don't know what he is playing at recently.

My solicitor phoned today (yes, on a Sunday!) and said he is NOT to have different contact as it is his fault he is in court tomorrow. And she will put in her fax a complaint about the BB gun and I have to hide it away and take it to court with me as evidence next time we go. Its neverending :-(

Good day overall though! And one more day of holiday tomorrow as its teacher training :-)

Acey, you are such a strong woman aren't you!:T

    My five pleasures for Sunday:

    1. Getting next week's meal planning done and the veggiebox order placed in less of a rush this week.

    2. Finishing off the clotted cream fudge icecream from Christmas (ensuring that we don't waste food so definitely OS ).

    3. Finishing off knitting my beautiful, beautiful scarf. I'll have to brave the cold tomorrow just so that I can wear it in public!

    4. While knitting, making a plan about getting going with starting to make craft items for stalls that I think I'll book next autumn and Xmas.

    5. Turning to another page of the Lush catalogue by the computer - each time I do this the smell circulates round the alcove and it's lovely!

(oh, and putting another £1 in the pot :D)

    Off to make another hottie.

    Sweet dreams everyone

re my phone/tv/b'band, Ollie it's with Virgin at £37.95 a month which gives me 'free' ie included in the cost, local and national calls any time, XL television (100+ chanels of which I probably watch 8 ) and medium broadband, I think it's up to 10 meg speed - whatever that is . I heard a couple of weeks ago a neighbour with the same package pays £29.95 so I'm going to call them and see if I can get it down a bit. If not their Retentions dept always knocks a bit off it they think they might lose a customer ;). My DM doesn't have cable in her area but I believe there are packages that BT do which would save her quite a bit. Weather permitting I'll go down on Friday to see if I can sort something out for her.
Caterina you did make me smile with the straight (ish) seams..it reminded me of my sewing mistress at school who said my seams looked like they were waving goodbye...and these on a gingham skirt so I had the lines to follow :rotfl:
mineallmine and Ladyhawk, I also have two terrors that would love to be in the bedroom...occasionally I walk up the stairs and the sister, who has managed to get in comes flying out and past me before I can catch her, her brother (who is a bit thick and hasn't worked out he only has to push the door and it opens) lays on the bed looking at me as if to say 'whoops, caught!' as though it was all his doing, ha ha.

    My 5..

    1. Another nsd, that's 4 in a row :T
    2. All the guest bed linen washed, dried, ironed (the bits that show :o) and back in the airing cupboard
    3. The stock I turned into soup was delicious, I had a home made brown roll with it for lunch and there's still enough for two more days. Yummy
    4. DNeighbour and her DD came in for a cuppa this afternoon, enjoyed a good old chin-wag while demolishing one of the tins of biccies I was given at Christmas
    5. Cleared out the fridge and found a couple of tomatoes with rather black stalk ends...cut them off and grilled the tomatoes to have with a toasted heel of bread and a just-out-of-date egg for dinner. Waste not, want not, as my DM always says :p

Night night and God bless everyone, stay safe

Morning everybody  - definitely fur-lined knickers weather here this morning deep_freeze.gif!

Thank you for your lovely comments on my posts - as I've said before, the way that I do it it's NOT that hard and it's my way of concentrating on 'the person' as I've got a rubbish memory.

I'm afraid I've had four attempts at posting this morning and each time I've had 'lost connection' - so not sure if it's just MSE or my internet. I'm going to have to abandon for this morning as I've got to get ready to start my day's work.

Well done to all who are decluttering for the New Year - aren't we all!

Congrats to the new aunties on the thread :T.

Hope anybody who isn't well soon begins to feel better (((((HUGS))))) to you.

Fingers crossed for all who are job hunting/going to interviews!

(((((HUGE HUGS)))))) for all who are feeling sad/lonely/depressed at this time of year.

    love Ollie xxx

    speak again later .

Morning everyone, how very well put Ollie, same sort of temp in N.I too.
    My 5 for today are.:j

    1. Have now made a start to my to do list. Have been on the phone forum this morning to post for help about the shocking amount of money:eek: i paid to BT last year. Well shocking to me anyway. Looking forward to maybe making some savings in this area.

    2. DS back to school today, so have a day planned of cleaning his room, which has not been touched from before xmas. That will take best part of day, as i'm going to sort out clothes etc. Hate clearing out things.

    3. Snowing a little outside nice to be indoors in the heat. So pleased with how easy this flat is to heat, moneywise. Makes up for BT shock.

    4. Friend coming for soup and sarnie lunch about 2. So that will make me hurry along to get things done.

    5. Want to do a big on-line mr t shop. Things for the store cupboard. Dried milk, pasta etc. Trying to meal plan again this year, and only buy what i will use.

Have a great os day everyone, hugs to all who need them. Hello to reverbe post soon. Love BTxx:A

Reverbe, hope you are OK ((()))

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Getting a cheque for some money owing to me.

    2. A good gym session and getting kisses and New Year greetings from a fellow gym bunny.

    3. A nice Sunday lie-in.

    4. Finding a nice pair of gym bottoms at Sainsburys for only £10.

    5. The smell of my homemade bread baking. Tried using 1/4 buckwheat flour and it didn't work too well when it came to rising - sunken top - yet tasted good anyway.

Back to work after the Xmas break today....hmmm...wll, it was nice seeing work colleagues again!
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • My five pleasures today are;

    1. Having a no-spend day again.
    2. Seeing that hubby has made a big batch of stewed fruit from cheap apples and blackberries that we picked and froze last year.
We have this nearly every day after dinner because it's so delicious hot and served with natural yoghurt.:j
3.Using up stuff from the fridge and freezer for tonight - outdoor reared pork sausages, carrot and potato mash, and onion gravy.
    4. I usually feel traumatised when I'm the slightest bit cold:o but put on my leg-warmers and gloves and snuggled under a beautiful wool blanket with hubby and doglets. We didn't have to put the heating on for ages and it was very cosy.
Haven't got a number 5 at the mo', but having a great time with just the 4.
