3. Cleaned up the kitchen, made OH's packed lunch for tomorrow because I was so excited for the flat viewing I needed to occupy myself!
4. Made my parents tea as they have been at a hospital appointment for my Mum most of the afternoon.
5. Picking my OH up from the train station in half an hour and going to drive up the road and have a little look at the flat I am viewing tomorrow, then coming home for tea which is LO spag bol.
Hope everyone has had a nice day0 -
Good evening all !
vjsmum -nothing wrong with a beautiful farm shop , I think I know just what you mean ...
frith - you ignored the "elephant in the room" :rotfl:Love it !! Thats why you are sooo special to us all xx
sparrer -((hugs)) to youit must be miserable not being able to breathe .
pk - your neck of the woods was quite battered by the winds yesterday , and a man was killed by a tree in his van . I hope you are ok ?
5 for today
1. Got a report sent before 9am - woo hoo .
2. A productive meeting with my team . It started at 9am ( hence the deadline for the above ) and finished at 12 and involved unpicking our current audit processes to make them "leaner" . It was good but really tough on my back , sitting around for that length of time ... still a nice hot water bottle is now in situ.
3. Mentally arranging frugal days out for my 2 weeks of annual leave at the end of the month. May go on the day trip to France for £15 (offer on this site), will go racing with Mr. T vouchers and go to a Pizza outlet with more Mr. T vouchers . Weather permitting for at least two of these :rotfl:Stop mentioning the "S" word ...
4. Nasi Goreng for tea using up leftover veg , fresh eggs and king prawns . Yum.
5. Received Boo** money off coupons in the post.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
1. Another NSD
2. Free sample of moisturizer through the post to test.
3. Got e-mail saying my sun priority booking code is on the way
4.Still not used car this week!
5. Couple of things to do then off for early night with my book0 -
1. DD's new alarm clock didn't go off (it might help if she hadn't lost the instructions before giving it to me to set up!) but we both got up in time for school/work
2. Low spend day - was very strict with myself and just bought what we actually NEED rather than extras.....
3. Received monthly £5 from my bank account, hopefully will get another £5 from the linked in credit card if I spent enough last month...
4. Received cheque for £5.90 from Music Magpie for some DVDs I sent them recently, yay
5. Took some books to the charity shop
6. Managed to arrange a sleepover for DD so that OH, I and some friends can go out on Saturday night, woohoo! It'll also be mine and OH's anniversary
7. Sold a book on Amazon, yay, more money for the savings pot
8. Thankfully have a separate fund to pay for DD's school trips, as a letter came home asking for money for a trip next week! Wish they could give us a bit more notice....so glad I recently set up the pot for this kind of thing....
9. DD made some chocolate fairy cakes this evening, whilst pretending she was a contestant on Junior Bakeoff. they look slightly overdone, thanks to my oven being a bit random, but she says they're delicious. Phew!
10. This is v. OS, I found my key implements for squeezing the last out of tubes of toothpaste etc and am getting the dregs out of various body creams, as I seem to have a stash of half-empty moisturisers!0 -
Evening all from a very excitable Ladyhawk!
I went to see a flat this evening which I loved! Its expensive and completely different to why I thought I wanted... But I walked in and thought.. WOW! Now just have to get Mr Bank Manager to give me some money.
I am so excited! Its ticked most of my boxes... Right by the station, off street private parking, light and airy.
1) Busy afternnon at work. I love being busy.
2) Went to sort out my photos... Just over £23 for more than 400 photos which was a tad better than what they wanted to charge me yesterday!
3) Took my own lunch into work
4) Chatted with my friend L regarding meeting up for some drinks on Friday
5) The gorgeous flat
Night all

Ooooh ladyhawk, how exciting
Hope you'll get the mortgage, is this to live in or rent out? Either way, hope you'll get it and be happy with it. The place we're moving to is different to what I originally wanted but I can't wait to live there, as it was just 'right' when we went round

Thanks Kittikins. I am buying it to live in, though will keep my current flat as I would lose too much money if I sold it. The town I live in is notoriously rubbish and I have lived here for 8 years and only vaguely know 1 person and that is not for won't of trying. The new town is really vibey, it has a good nightlife (I wouldnt dare go out where I live now) and I filled with young professionals, so hopefully I can broaden my social group locally as my friends are really scattered. Fingers and toes crossed! Though if this one doesn't work out there will be others now that I really know what I am looking for.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. Evening all.
I'm sorry to say that I've had a lousy day today: one of our contractors is making a formal complaint about me - the fact that no-one can work out what he's complaining about or why he's blaming me should help but doesn't, somehow - the only good bit is that he's now refusing to talk to me at all which I have to say I'm not sorry about!I also wasted a lot of time on the phone trying to arrange for a parcel to be re-delivered - the courier had put the wrong phone number on the card and the head office apparently doesn't believe in answering their phones. I don't know what will happen to my parcel - it might well end up being returned to sender.
Anyway:
1) A very nice lunch of RTC pate and HM chilli jam on HM wholemeal bread - this OS lark's good sometimes, innit?
2) Made a nice big batch of veg chilli for dinner, with loads left over for lunches over the next few days.
3) Cuddles with mog who, unfortunately for a seaside cat, doesn't like strong winds.
4) I sent my sister a link from the main MSE site with lots of free books for the shiny new Kindle she got from her OH's family for Christmas.
5) Not having to go outside on such a wild night!
Have a nice evening, all, and stay safe in this second batch of unpleasant windiness.Back after a very long break!0 -
Ladyhawk Oh wow, it sounds fabulous, fingers, toes and limbs crossed you get it x
CCP - big hugs honey, I hope the complaint is dealt with/disappears very quickly, it must be very stressful for you, the contractor must have a screw loose, you certainly come across on here as a lovely, helpful, knowledgeable, professional person - do you need a character reference?0 -
CCP Big big hugs, and a kick boxing exercise class always helps.
LadyHawk:- Big congrats, fingers crossed for the mortgage.
Thanks to RTC bargains from Asda today the freezers are now fully stocked, we will not need to proper shop for about a month at least.
A lot of feedback for job roles, I need something to come up fast now.
Made the appointment for Shelter for next week – I’m worried but I managed to keep it together this time, no blubbing.
Changing the way we eat I have recipe ideas - I think I’ve just got lazy so time to include a lot more veg and enjoy.
Almost scared to write this but with everything that’s going on at the moment at least I feel like I am coping dealing and looking/finding positive’s, so I am going to add it in as a pleasure.
I went to glass recycling today and had a lot of fun smashing the recycling we had, very theraputic.0
