Oh, I lose so many posts!
Anyway, 5 for today (Tues).
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Good Housekeeping came in the post.
3) Went to Sainsburys with sons so have some sensible food now. Also got OH (!) a fitted sheet in the sale.
4) Sons had £5 Christmas money each from an auntie and combined their monies together at the toy shop and got a rocket launcher to share. They played with that this afternoon despite the storm.
5) Brother walked up with his dog and played with smaller son on the Wii.
6) Gave brother and dog a lift home (few miles each way) and sons agreed they would stay be themselves! That is a first and a real change in attitude in bigger son who would not previously let me even walk to the village shop (across the road). He will be 12 this year and I was thinking he would have to start somewhere.
7) Texts from OH and just had a nice chat with him on the phone.
8) Looking forward to tomorrow. The last day of the holidays. I thought sons would like to go bowling but when I said it was the bowling by the soft play area place, they chose to go there instead!0 -
Get well soon all you poorly people!
My five pleasures for Tuesday:
1. Lovely veggie box delivered again.
2. Got the meal plans done for next week.
3. Listening to a very funny 'Mark Steel's in Town' on Radio 4 over supper.
4. Another NSD and £1 in the sealed pot.
5. Got a strong looking snow shovel delivered which I'd bought on offer (this is why we won't see any more snow in the southern half of the UK for the next 12 months )
Stay warm, sleep well,
B x0 -
Sparrar:- Glad you are on the mend. Also the steam cleaners are fantastic, we’ve got a vax now from many years ago and wouldn’t change it, esp. with pets, but mainly have wood floors as carpet and pets would be a continual headache.
Applied for roles.
Went to see in laws, there was debris and gales everywhere, trees down and roads closed.
A lovely HM meal with the in-laws.
Lovely catching up and laughing so much my face ached.
MIL kindly gave me a 2012 diary, which saves me a fiver as we were just about to grab one from smiths, we won a calendar so we are set just need to get dates on there
Very late back as we always spend a long time chatting.0 -

Yep - I noticed too, Frith! :j
For yesterday
1. GOt the house tidied - took most of the day as it really was a state, took the decs down too
2. Had a break by taking DS out for lunch - not often just me and him do something.
3. DIscovered a farm shop near me - not very MSE, but it is beautiful (funny word I know for a farm shop). OH and I may go back for coffee and a mooch soon
4. "Boxing day" meal of left over turkey, mash, pickles (Turkey from New Years day, not christmas day!)
5. Must be magazine day because my first copy of Easy Living arrived, that I had bought with a groupon voucher - £1 something instead of £3.75!
5I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
hello, I've had a productive yet relaxing day....oh what a difference fresh air & less heat makes!
1.Started day with a massive thunder storm, it was so loud but cleared the air & rained on the gardens.
2.Made banana loaves & a very yummy quiche, made with frozen ham from Christmas day (RTC) and RTC cream & used up smoked cheese bought for Christmas.
3.Washing & ironing all caught up on, I have not washed clothes past 2 days as I could not bare going out in the heat! Then our electricity is getting switched off for work getting done so no laundry tomorrow! Ironed to radio 2 !
4.Watched a semi trashy DVD....a whodunnit....it was the police sherrif! Took DVD's back to library & collected some more!
5.De-cluttered some more & another bag went to Op shop.
Have a great day x0 -
Broomstick - glad you bought a snow shovel to stop the snow, I thought I was going to have to, but then again, I did buy DD some snow boots on ebay in July, so hoped that that would help the cause0
-
Thank you Broomstick and Kittikins. Not quite in the south here but I bought a big bag of salt so between us hopefully we've put the hex on any snow
I'm saying nothing Frith - well perhaps just oooooooh!!!!0 -
Sons have quite reasonable coats this winter (smaller son has a lovely M and S duffel coat that I got from a charity shop for £8!) plus gloves and hats. Just had another tonne of logs delivered. All got wellies and ordered them snow boots last night.
Probably be the mildest winter we've had in years!0 -
Here's hoping it is mild, I hate snow and ice!0
