2. Enjoying the evening with my cats watching "Endeavor" on iplayer with the log burner lit.its nice and cosy
3. Put some lovely fluffy barley straw in the stables this morning, the horses are contentedly munching their hay,in out of the wind on deep soft straw beds.
4.had a simple vegatarian dinner,a nice change from the recent meat fest over the holidays
5. A friend invited us round for a meal, date to be arranged, but sometime this month---lovely.0 -
Evening all,
Sheeeeesh! What a miserable day... It was so dark all morning.
1) Wandered into town to print some photos... Which came to about £90:eek:... But the quality was really poor so I complained and they agreed to send them off to the lab to be printed properly and this would also be a lot cheaper. Phew!!! I just don't get why they are happy to let people print such dreadful quality. I suppose most people wouldn't complain...
2) NSD
3) Nice to catch up with various colleagues who have been on holiday
4) Did a big wash of dark clothes which are now drying
5) Did ironing... Which is fairly unheard of for me!
6) Arranged 2 house viewings for tomorrow
7) Yummy burger for supper (HM obviously)
8) Registered with my new GP
Nighty night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all.
I hope everyone's still there and no-one's blown away!
1) There were no cars around when a gust of wind blew me off the pavement and in to the road on my way to work this morning.
2) Arg0s have agreed to let me collect my new CD player tomorrow as I couldn't make it in to town today - it was too wet, too windy, and the road was closed because the windows were blowing out of one of the university buildings in the city centre.:eek: It gave us something interesting to watch from the office, but I felt so sorry for the poor policemen directing traffic in that weather.
3) Amazingly, my garden fence is still upright - I was certain it would be in pieces by the time I got home.
4) Found another pot of RTC brandy cream to go with my HM ginger cake.
5) Watching a documentary about the Great Barrier Reef, which the mog was very interested in - I was having difficulty convincing him not to try hunting a televised shark. :rotfl:
Have a good, safe evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

Evening everyone :hello:
I've had a training day in school today and the children are back tomorrow. DH started his new job too!
My 5 for today:
1) Tried a new route to work today. Could potentially save me 50miles per week in petrol & depreciation BUT it's alot more stressful getting onto the A1...
2) £2.54 cashback showing as pending for DH's new (sale) suit from M&S.
3) Lakeland catalogue arrived today. Very moneysaving as it will be looked at and leafed through without any purchase.
4) Trip to Tesco ended up with me buying lamb, pork and chicken at reduced, yellow sticker, prices. Portioned up and now in the freezer for when required!
5) DH has discovered that, through his new job, he is able to get discounts at a number of different shops, will get a free eyetest and £40 contribution to new glasses. He last had new frames 5 and a half years ago for our wedding!

Chicken I'm on the mend thank you
. It annoys me not being able to breathe
so I try to ignore it (the ci, not trying to breathe!)
CCP so pleased you're okay and as you said, no traffic was around . Someone was watching over you at that moment
Kittikins how lovely to have your DD back, it's nice for them to go on holiday but better when they come home again
Ladyhawk I used to joke and say 'please explain ironing'? But lately I'm quite enjoying it - is it an age thing, I wonder?
1. Pleased to be able to stay in during this horrid weather, sorry for everyone who's back to work etc though
2. Surprisingly, no heating on today. I think it's thanks to the HA putting in masses of loft insulation, and me bubble wrapping the windows I don't/can't open and putting hm heat reflectors behind all the outside wall radiators. Will be interested to see my bills after the winter period
3. Tidied the card drawer and now have one big bag of Christmas cards and another of birthday cards. I shan't be buying any more for years!
4. Just watching Biggest Loser. I do feel for the people on the programme and thank goodness for the OS weight loss challenge which helps me so much.
5. Not OS but very much needed, bought a steam carpet cleaner at half price. With oatmeal carpets throughout I'm fed up with hands and knees scrubbing when the furry things traipse mud in from the garden
Night night
